An in depth interview with Steve Colfer, Head Coach of the 2019 NCAA Champion Cabrini University Men's Lacrosse Team.
In 19 seasons at the helm of the Cabrini men’s lacrosse program, Colfer has mentored the Cavaliers to 19 consecutive conference championships and 18 straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Colfer is a 13-time Coach of the Year and owns a commanding 284-72 career record. His .798 winning percentage ranks among the top 10 coaches of all-time in Divisions I, II and III.
In 2019, Colfer led the program to the University's first NCAA championship with a 16-12 victory over Amherst College. And in the process they closed the season on a 15-game win streak, finishing the season 22-2, one win shy of the NCAA record for wins in a season.
We discuss this season the media called a "magical run" (which I predicted before the season even started) as well as:
Building a championship culture
The power of hope
Why you should root for your competition
Empowering your staff and team leadership
The importance of continuity
Plus a whole lot more.

An in depth interview with perhaps the most controversial and widely misunderstood coach in America, Jason Brown. Jason is the star of the Netflix documentary series Last Chance U. Seasons #3 and #4 feature Jason and his team at Independence Community College.
We dive into how he is such a lightning rod and polarizing public figure, as well as WHY he's misunderstood. The conversation also turns to authenticity in a world of fakes as well as the fact that there's very little "reality" in reality TV.
We also discuss Jason's terrific new book Hate Me Now, Love Me Later as well as his time at Indy and the experience of being followed around by television cameras 24-7.
There are a lot of people I meet who I recommend write a book, most don't. Jason is one of the few who not only took the advice but also did it in record time. You get to see a VERY different side of the man in his book, I recommend you get yourself a copy here:
Interview with veteran, leadership expert, entrepreneur and author, Jon Rennie.
We discuss his new book I Have The Watch and the fabulous foreword written for the book which, in my humble but highly accurate opinion, is worth the purchase price in and of itself. :-)
Get yourself a copy here: http://www.IHaveTheWatch.com
How good is I Have The Watch? So good that, if you aren't 100% satisfied with it, I'll buy the book back from you. That's how good, now go get it...
A discussion on depression in entrepreneurship. The interview is based on his groundbreaking article #HustleHarder - A Study of Mental Health in the Entrepreneurship Community. Val is saying what millions of entrepreneurs are feeling but believe it's taboo to talk about.
We also expose the fraudulent online goo-roos who promote "Hustle Porn”. Which is using the power of social media to convince others to take risks not right for them, by pushing a lifestyle that isn’t just unreasonable, but downright dangerous for many people.
Note: I use Proof Factor on my website. I'm not an affiliate, I receive no compensation for promoting it. I simply do so because it's a great resource and tool that you can benefit from as I am.

We unpack the key to that difference and how this relates to YOU and YOUR results. We also discuss my new one of a kind membership site.

Performance Report Episode #513
The late Reverend Billy Graham once said:
"A coach will impact more lives in one year than an average person will in a lifetime."
I don't believe that quote is limited to just coaches and this episode will explain precisely why.
*Episode #513 is dedicated to the Memory of Marylyn S. Mills.
Performance Report Episode #512
Intellectual Laziness is destroying our country. It's also destroying your team's results if you allow it. Stadium Status billionaires practice what I call The 60 Minute Rule. They invest at least an hour a day in learning.
Leaders are readers. When do you schedule reading into your day?
The worst thing you can do is expect results. The best thing you can do is just put in the work, one step at a time based on a system with a track record of success. When you expect results to occur and they don’t magically appear your mind assumes nothing is happening. In reality a lot is actually happening, you just don’t see it.
This episode shows you that when it looks like nothing is happening is precisely when the most growth is actually taking place.
Performance Report Episode #510
Too many people dream about the finish line and want success to be easier than it is. Then they wonder why they never achieve it. This episode unpacks why the desire for "easy" is the road to ruin and how shortcuts actually derail your progress.
Performance Report Episode #509
Life's trails are full of surprises and not easy to navigate. Yet the most rewarding ones are the most challenging ones. They're going to be filled with twists, turns, peaks and valleys. This episode unpacks how you can best navigate the journey that is your personal and professional life.
Nobody fights for anything quite like they fight for family. This is why family businesses outperform their non-family counterparts. We breakdown why they perform so well and how you can learn from two Stadium Status family businesses: The Casey Donahew Band and Zildjian Cymbal Company.
Those four names are the names of plays the Los Angeles Rams football team use as audibles. This actually has EVERYTHING to do with you and making 2018 your best year ever. Quarterbacks aren't the only ones who call audibles; all successful people do. I bet you do too whether you realize it or not. The question is: Are you doing it often enough and at the right times?
Your Future Is Probably Way Behind Schedule, but you're not alone. 92% of people who make New Year's resolutions fail to achieve them.
This episode contains a quick primer on 5 steps you can take to avoid being in the dreadful 92%. Also included is an announcement on my small group coaching program I'm making available to listeners for the first time. More info here: http://geni.us/accountability
In tiny little Upland, Indiana, for 21 straight years on the Friday night before final exams in December, Taylor University basketball hosts what they call their "Silent Night" game. It's a different kind of silent night.
I have one simple goal for 2018 -- to serve YOU better than ever in the New Year. I don’t want to waste your time sending you content that doesn’t relate to you or your work. So, in order to do that I need to find out what you want to learn more about.
I would mean a lot to me if you could take 30 seconds and tell me what is the single biggest challenge you’re struggling with in your business right now?
Are You Growing, Plateauing Or Deteriorating?
Are you green and growing or ripe and rotting?
In this episode I breakdown the four success factors that guarantee you can create an environment where you are always green and growing.
While this was the subject of the sermon at my church Sunday, I'm actually talking to you about it from a business perspective. Specifically, I'm taking aim at my enemy (and yours) the self-proclaimed gurus; not just in my profession but all industries.
The news I wanted to share with you is that I've begun the process of creating a charitable foundation. "Coach Cares" is the charity arm of my organization and it exists solely to recognize the needs of my readers and their communities as well as find ways that I can better serve you.
