Soccer Player Misses His Own Wedding To Finalize Transfer To New Club, Sends His Brother To Be Stand-In Groom A FOOTBALLER missed his own wedding day in order to finalize a transfer to a new team. Malmo star Mohamed Buya Turay wasn't there on his big day as he was agreeing to a different type of contract instead. And Malmo A 27-year-old was so focused on the possibility of the transfer he missed his own wedding.  Although Turay made sure bride Suad Baydoun wasn't on her own... by sending his BROTHER to take his place instead. Orange County SC allege LA Galaxy trying to take their venue The fight over the future of Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine appears to have kicked off in a major way, as Orange County SC announced on Friday they are facing a fight to remain in the Orange County Great Park venue. They allege the LA Galaxy organization has submitted a proposal to undercut Orange County SC’s presence starting in 2023 that would evict the defending USL Championship title-holders.  OVERLAY ORANGE COUNTY FANS Orange County SC revealed a proposal by the Galaxy organization to the City of Irvine, which owns the stadium, to take over as the tenant of Championship Soccer Stadium beginning in 2023, presumably for the Galaxy’s reserve team to call home, after they move to MLS Next Pro, the new third-tier professional league. The difference, according to OCSC, is the new proposal would be for AN exclusive TENANT — in other words evicting Orange County SC from the stadium they’ve called home since 2017, as well as any other adult teams that currently use the venue, which includes NISA outfit California United Strikers FC. “Our club is built in Irvine, 100% Orange County proud and now under attack. We are stunned and extremely disappointed by yesterday’s news that the city could undo all the great work we have done in soccer and in the local community in Orange County,” OCSC owner James Keston said in the team’s release. “OCSC has called Championship Soccer Stadium home for the past five years. It is where fans have come together to watch our team represent their community, where we have won trophies, and where local players have realized their dreams as they have risen from the academy to the pros and on to some of the largest clubs in the world.” The alleged proposal from the Galaxy undercuts Orange County SC’s own effort to renew their tenant agreement with the City of Irvine for 2023 and beyond, which interim president of business operations Dan Rutstein told Angels on Parade during an interview on Saturday was something they were in the process of doing.

The Arizona Soccer Divide | US Club vs ASA
#USCLUB #ASA #SOCCER Divide and conquer techniques being used in soccer in Arizona are currently in full launch mode with US Soccer being used as the stake that divides an already dividing Arizona.  We are witnessing RSL leading the charge by  gaining and maintaining power by breaking up ASA into pieces.   Historically, this strategy was used in many different ways by empires seeking to expand their territories.  So what is happening?    Soccer Alliance of Arizona announces six founding member clubs CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 2, 2022) – Six leading soccer clubs in Arizona have been announced as the founding members of the newly formed Soccer Alliance of Arizona (SAAZ), which will elevate youth standards in the state by ensuring a more professional experience for families, players, and coaches. Leadership from these clubs will form the technical committee, which will oversee all technical aspects of the game. This aligns with US Club Soccer’s guiding principles that soccer people should make soccer decisions, local decisions should be made locally, and the sport deserves professional management.Utah Youth Soccer Association adopts zero-tolerance policy toward referee abuse. The abuse has led to a massive shortage of people willing to referee. To fight back, the Utah Youth Soccer Association issued a zero-tolerance policy against parents and coaches who berate officials. It means that anytime people yell or argue with a referee, their team won’t be able to have spectators on the sidelines for the rest of the season. Former Nebraska youth soccer coach pleads no contest to child enticement charge According to prosecutors, the 47-year-old sent "inappropriate" SnapChat messages to a pair of juveniles that he was coaching between March and April 2021. The victims were 14 and 15 at the time, prosecutors said.

The Power of Now and Youth Sports | E702
#TOLLE #POWEROFNOW #SOCCER Power of Now & Youth Sports MUST be incorporated. I have recently been working on trying to incorporate The Power of Now into my coaching.   For the ones that don’t know The Power of Now is a book written by Eckhart Tolle Tolle states that to be identified with your mind is to be trapped in time: to be enslaved to the past (memory) and the future (anticipation). He challenges us to shift our consciousness from time to presence. It is what the Zen master means when he asks, "If not now, when?" It is what the Sufis mean when they speak of themselves as "sons of time present." Presence, according to Tolle, is the key to freedom. ALSO ON THE PODCAST Delusional Parent Disorder(DPD) in Youth Sports written by Gordon MacLelland and he says… With many parents struggling to understand that the game is for their child and not for them, many have struggled to keep a sense of perspective.  The most difficult thing as a parent as well is remaining objective and as a result we often think our children are better than they are. From Forbes -The Concussion Gender Gap: Why Girls Suffer More Head Injuries Who is more likely to suffer a concussion playing high school sports, a female soccer player or a male football player? A new study, published in the journal Pediatrics, found that girls who play high school soccer are at nearly the same risk for traumatic brain injuries as boys who play high school football.  In fact, concussion rates were higher among girls than boys in every high school sport. Despite the indisputable statistics, controversy still surrounds the exact reasons that girls suffer more concussions than boys.

#MOM #DAD #COACH #YOUTH #SPORTS A former Nebraska youth soccer coach will serve time in prison for attempted child enticement.  Coaches you just need to LEARN the rules on what is appropriate and what isn’t  “A lesser sentence would depreciate the seriousness of the crime,” a Sarpy County judge said while delivering the sentence. Taylor Twellman, former major league soccer MVP, said he knew the late major league soccer player Scott Vermillion, who was diagnosed with CTE after his death. Twellman said the head trauma that is endured during soccer should come as no surprise.

Referee Abuse discussion with Brian Barlow, owner of "OFFSIDE"
#OFFSIDE #OFFICIALS #REFEREE In Episode 673 we have Brian Barlow, who is motivational speaker and a passionate highly requested and recommended soccer referee. Brian Barlow is also a father, pilot, golfer, writer & Emmy award winning TV Producer and husband of long-time best friend Lori Barlow. Barlow is no stranger to center stage so it was no surprise when the little “Offside” project went Viral the summer of 2018. Making a bold statement is one of the fundamental pillars of impactful marketing, Barlow took his own advise a few years ago and offered $100 for anyone who captures referee abuse and its posted on the Offside page. We’ve received more than 6000 videos to date and we are the only grassroots campaign discussing the negative impact fan behavior has on youth sports. This page is often controversial, in your face and to the point - for those who are sensitive, uptight, wound-up or in need of a politically correct approach to the subject should probably skip-out and follow someone less abrasive. Barlow is working on multiple platforms under the “Offside” umbrella. In fact one of them being a complete online curriculum to develop and enhance situational awareness for beginning and intermediate referees. Barlow is also about to launch his first private facebook group called “Cheeseburger Unanimous” highly produced content to help motivate, elevate and create better referees, better clubs and better sportsmanship. It’s $5 a month.

MLS Next Coaches don't care about your development | E696 |
#MLSNEXT #YOUTH #SOCCER How you can tell if MLS Next coaches care about your development, they will actively train on your technique at practice.    Also discussed on the show... US SOCCER ANNOUNCES NEW LICENSE Whether you’re a Director of Coaching, a coach, technical director or just a high school coach you must have a license.   US Soccer increasingly demands you have a license before you're allowed to work for a certain level of soccer for safety issues and a certain level of accountability of developing talents. The majority think this is a good idea.  Yet licensing doesn’t prevent incompetence, developmenting players to the next level.  ANOTHER COACH ARRESTED  Youth soccer coach arrested following sexually explicit chats with undercover officer, police say LOGAN, Utah, March 31, 2022 (Gephardt Daily) — A Cache County youth soccer coach has been arrested after police say he engaged in sexual conversations and shared explicit photos and videos with an undercover police officer posing as a 13-year-old girl. World Cup Champion Jessica McDonald talks about the many great players of the NWSL
On Episode 700 Jessica McDonald is back to talk about her amazing career and the players she has played against and with.   #meganrapino #samkerr FROM USWNT team page- Jessica McDonald is a powerful forward with a proven track record of goal-scoring—she was the first NWSL player to reach 33 regular-season goals. In 2017 and 2018, McDonald’s goals and assists helped lead the North Carolina Courage to two NWSL Shields. She is also mother to seven-year-old Jeremiah and her son is a huge part of her motivation to chase her dreams. “I want him to be proud of his mom,” McDonald says with an ear to ear smile. NWSL MOM In the past ten years, Jessica McDonald has played for nine different professional teams—the Chicago Red Stars, SC Herford, Melbourne Victory FC, the Seattle Reign, the Portland Thorns, the Houston Dash, and the North Carolina Courage (previously the Western New York Flash). As a mother, moving from city to city wasn’t easy, but McDonald refused to give up her dream: to one day make the National Team. “I wanted to be able to tell my son Jeremiah that I went for it,” says McDonald. On November 2016, she earned her long-awaited call-up to the U.S. WNT. At age 31, her years of unwavering perseverance and steady goal scoring paid off. She’s headed to France for the 2019 World Cup, where she’ll look to inject speed and strength into the frontline. A FAMILY AFFAIR As a kid, Jessica’s grandma told her she couldn’t just sit on the couch—that she had to pick up a sport. Her brother played soccer, so she thought to herself, I guess I’ll play soccer like Brandon. He continued to inspire her, playing on Youth National Teams as a kid and playing in the MLS from 2008 through 2011. Since then, he’s played in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand—and he follows his sister’s career as closely as she follows his. He couldn’t be happier for his sister as she heads to her first World Cup, where she’ll hope to make an impact on the pitch.

Lamar Hunt US Open Cup For Youth
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, commonly known as the U.S. Open Cup (USOC), is a knock-out cup competition in American soccer. It is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the U.S.[1] The 105th edition, held in 2018, was contested by 97 clubs from the two professional leagues sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation: Major League Soccer (MLS), and the United Soccer League (USL), and also amateur clubs in the earlier rounds of the tournament after qualifying through their leagues. The overall champion earns a total of $300,000 in prize money, while the runner-up receives $100,000, and the furthest-advancing team from each lower division league receives $25,000.[2] In addition, the tournament winner qualifies for the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Don’t pass the ball like Elaine!!💃🏻
Elaine dance – (related terms: sweet fancy moses, J. Peterman office party) 1. a dance disjointed movement done by Elaine at the “big Peterman bash”. 2. performed by pointing the thumbs in a jerky motion while doing little kicks. 3. resembles “a full bodied dry heave set to music” 4. may cause people to mock your dancing behind your back. 5. also described as “limbs flailing, arms akimbo, feet kicking up dust…” 6. Quote: “…out of nowhere, there’s this lone dancer who appears to be injured.”
