Let's Talk Immersive Art & Tech with Jaiye & Cody

Let's Talk Immersive Art & Tech with Jaiye & Cody

Episode #41: Art & technology have become so closely intertwined in recent years. The rise of immersive art is bringing innovative experiences to broad audiences!

FULL TRANSCRIPT HERE

BetweenTheSpaces.com

Between the Spaces — featuring the work of multimedia artist Jaiye Farrell and photographer Cody Giles — invites the viewer to explore connectivity and art as it pertains to digital versus tactile mediums.

Between the Spaces invites the viewer to explore connectivity and art as it pertains to digital versus tactile mediums. Mixing printed portraits with markings painted physically and digitally and then experienced through virtual reality, this project brings those two worlds together. It features 36 printed portraits, 18 of which will be physically embellished, and the other 18 will be virtually painted and viewed using the Artivive app.

The artists welcome viewers to move through the gallery interacting with the different elements of the project, including a polaroid corner for participants to have their picture taken and that Polaroid becomes part of the installation, 3D printed painted orbs on display, an augmented reality orb, a video space for participants to create selfie videos, a collaborative canvas to be raffled off as well as canvas pieces of art.

The virtually-painted portraits can be purchased and viewed again in their homes with the app, expanding the experience of the project beyond gallery walls. It is also the hope of the artists that the participants feel connected and included enough to be a part of the project.

Jaiye Farrell

Oklahoma-based artist Jaiye Farrell cultivated his style of painting from abstract patterns that transcend societal and cultural divides and remember the communal roots of humanity. From an infatuation with archeology emerged a creative and ambitious talent: to craft signature designs that inspire self-reflection.

“The pattern I am cultivating is a rhythm of line and shape. I use like a substance that morphs so I can transform surfaces objects and spaces around me.”

Cody Giles

Driven by connection, community, and alliteration, Cody Giles is a photographer who always sets out to capture the personality of a subject. Not just another portrait, but rather one that conveys just who that person is without knowing them. He strives to do this in all types of photography, from live music to families, to fashion editorials. Capturing moments in thoughtful and artful ways is always the goal.

Let's Talk Low-Code, No-Code Creativity with Jonathan Anderson

Let's Talk Low-Code, No-Code Creativity with Jonathan Anderson

Episode #39: What is 'low-code, no-code, and how can it open up pathways for creative problem-solving? In today's episode, I will discuss low-code, no-code creativity in technology tools with Jonathan Anderson, Co-founder and CEO of Candu.

FULL TRANSCRIPT HERE

About Jonathan:
He loves tech but can't write a line of code. He has a dog named Ronnie, a cat named Winslow, and a husband named Luke. Jonathan is passionate about product-led selling. He has launched services, strategy, operations, and analytics teams at venture-backed SaaS startups, including InsightSquared and LaunchDarkly. Before startups, Jonathan worked at Bain & Company. He has a B.S. and M.S.Eng from Stanford University.

Jonathan's Twitter: @jonaappleseed (Twitter) and Linkedin

About Candu

Candu is a product-led experience builder that empowers any team to improve their existing SaaS product without code. Anyone can strategically embed UI components to create personalized, in-product content experiences that engage users throughout the customer lifecycle.

Candu has raised $5 million in seed funding led by Two Sigma Ventures with participation from CRV alongside existing investors like Angular Ventures, Haystack, and Entrepreneur First.

Candu was founded in 2018 by Jonathan Anderson and Michele Riccardo Esposito, who saw the need to empower creative development in SaaS products for all teams. Jonathan wore every hat in SaaS besides "coder" but felt creatively stifled and professionally stuck—working outside the product in emails, decks, and pop-ups. As a product engineer, Michele could see engineering being torn between priorities for the product roadmap and supporting Customer Success teams who had a direct line to their customers' needs. They teamed up to give that feeling and meaning to those of us who can't code.

Refining in-product user experiences is a slow process that involves cyclical collaboration with Engineering and Product teams. Within that time, prospective users may move on to a competitor before customer-side teams can facilitate application changes.

Candu allows teams to collaboratively build in-product content experiences that encourage the adoption of features, onboard new users, and announce updates daily. Teams can build and publish experiences by combining no-code UI components and embedding them directly in the core application.

Through a wide selection of customizable templates and a drag-and-drop editor, Candu enables its users to build, embed, and iterate rapidly. Candu integrates with leading product engagement platforms, including Segment, Intercom, Pendo, Wistia, YouTube, and Vimeo, and has been adopted by companies such as Adobe, Thought Industries, and Gorgias.
