K.A.R.E stands for Kidney Awareness, Resources and Education. Join Denise Poindexter, co-founder of The Complicated DM and member of the Central Illinois Chapter of The Links, Inc. and special guest, Dr. Thembi Conner-Garcia as they educate and raise awareness about chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the Black community. Dr. Conner-Garcia, an internal medicine physician, will share information about CKD and its risk factors, complications and treatment to reduce the risk of kidney failure and/or improve outcomes for people living with chronic kidney disease.
