EP 29: Too Harsh On ‘Em w/ Lady K

Welcome World! One of our favorite co-hosts, Kalaiah Vaughn known on air as Lady K of Kitchen Talk with Lady K, this episode we review and resonate with a Chrisette Michelle Instagram posts speaking on “5 things she’s learned about high profile kings with broken self-esteem” let’s talk about it…

So Listen Listeners! This episode reiterates that our black men, are indeed high-profile kings and often time need safe space created to be completely fulfilled and grown to their full potentials as men. Respect, love, cherish, grow high profile kings in efforts to help build their self-esteem.

Ep 28: Missing Black Man w/ Mic Perkins

Ep 28: Missing Black Man w/ Mic Perkins

Welcome World! Getting to the good stuff in Season 4 on Concrete and Blossom Podcast. Episode 28 - Missing Black Man is co-hosted with one of my favorite intellects – Mic Perkins of My Punk Ass Podcast! We address the unavoidable fact that black homes, the black communities, the black America, the black world is missing the black man, let’s talk about it!

So Listen Listeners! One of my favorite quotes when talking about Black Men is “I am not your enemy, I am your ENERGY!”

Black Women: my message to you is although we cannot teach black men how to be men, we must learn to cherish black men, protect black men, and love black men to their growth and through their growth. When we separate ourselves from the idea of the black man, we empower every systemic oppression tool created to dissemble the black community. Don’t worry this is only the beginning of this conversation here on the Concrete and Blossom Podcast platform!

Ep 27: PDAR (Procrastination Disguised As Rest)

Ep 27: PDAR (Procrastination Disguised As Rest)

Welcome world! It's one of your favorite Creator & Hosts, DawnTheDoll. This is Season 4 Episode 27 of Concrete and Blossom Podcast. We are aspiring to create change through conversation in this Silver Segment with Queen Sylvia. Today we speak on the thought “Procrastination Disguised As Rest”. Let’s talk about it…

So Listen Listeners! In a world where goals and accomplishments, being busy and productive, where getting shit done defines so much of you, it is essential to have BALANCE! This has become an ongoing theme throughout our creation. When we take rat, it should be a state of reset. Mentally, physically, and even spiritually we need to create the time and safe space for time off. HOWEVER... don't waste time! If you're avoiding what needs to be done, and filling time with mindless thought traps, it's not rest people! Healthy rest creates balance; procrastination that you tell yourself is rest is wasted time.

This episode's co-host has NOT been procrastinating!! SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO QUEEN SYLVIA on her new brand launch... CREATIVE GLAM BOX!!! Pre-Orders AVAILABLE MAY 8, 2021

Ep 26: McCrae's Message

Welcome world! This is Episode 26 of Concrete and Blossom Podcast. Joining me for this season’s Music Is Medicine Series (MIMS) is Kareem McCrae who records as Greedy Reem in the music industry. Although music has been a healing mechanism for him like many others, he has a Black America on his mind. Let’s get to know him on this episode…

So listen listeners, no matter your outlet please get your message out. Help to rebuild Blackness and think past everything you think you know. Make a change be the change and let’s continue to have these conversations.

Ep 25: Cancel Gender Reveal

Ep 25: Cancel Gender Reveal

Welcome World! It's Season 4 on Concrete and Blossom Podcast. For episode 25 I got ahold of some older and newer footage on the topic of "theybies". I know it sounds like rabies but think babies! Not assigning a gender a birth but letting your child decide around age 4 or 5. Let’s talk about it.

My guest panel includes:

One of your favorite Creator & Hosts Dawn The Doll

Kalaiah Vaughn of Kitchen Talk With Lady K

Mista D 713 of Everything Culture Podcast

Big Smash of Bet The House Podcast

Just Red 904 of Code Red Podcast

So listen listeners, I know that we like to control a lot of things. But please trust in whatever God, universe, and higher power that’s truly in charge. Don’t argue with facts and let’s all do our part to keep confusion of humanity to a minimum. There are already enough issues for us to work through and we don’t need further divisive influences.

Ep 22: You Aren't Who They Knew

Ep 22: You Aren't Who They Knew

Welcome world! I am one of your favorite creator and hosts DawnTheDoll. This is Episode 22 of Concrete and Blossom Podcast. We are aspiring to create change through conversation in this Silver Segment with Queen Sylvia. Today we speak on the thought “You aren’t who they knew”. Let’s talk about it…

So listen Listeners, You are not your past. You are not your mistakes. And you most certainly are not and don’t have to be the memories someone has of you. Keep growing. Keep allowing others the opportunity to grow. Evolve and develop into your best self. Let that best self be your representative as you walk your path of life. Where others choose to reside and remain is not your responsibility. Just be sure you don’t go where misery and malicious memories are inviting you.

Ep 21: Not New To It, True To It

Ep 21: Not New To It, True To It

SaintLeo: "I am blessed to still have the passion to do music and perform again, I have a ton of content to talk about and can't wait to share my journey with the world."

Welcome World! This is Concrete and Blossom Podcast and I am one of your favorite creator and hosts DawnTheDoll. On this episode we talk about music perpetuating violence and impacting the culture as we get to know Dallas based music artist Saint Leo. Let’s talk about it…

Recording artist known by the stage name SaintLeo, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter from Dallas, Texas. An independent recording artist whose influences are artists such as Scarface, Jay-Z, T.I., Drake, Outkast, Z-Ro, Big Krit, Ice Cube and Rick Ross. SaintLeo started writing songs and poems at the age of 13, shortly after his mother passed of stomach cancer. "I can remember just sitting in my room for days and not talking to anyone and just writing thoughts and rhymes." After taking a nearly 10 year hiatus, he jumped back into the rap scene by releasing EP, Music U Can Feel (2020) and Respectfully, Yours (2020)

So listen listeners, music is meant to be felt by the soul. When your soul is moved it can sometimes cause that ass to be thrown in a circular motion. We have to understand that there would be an appropriate time and place for that. I said all that to say, be cognizant of the energy of music that you continuously pour into your soul.

Welcome World! This is Concrete and Blossom Podcast. We’re halfway through season 3 and it has been a real charm! We sit down in episode 20 with Levi Chaney and Rashad Thomas to plant the seed Really Talking Realty. Let’s create change with this conversation…

So Listen listeners, Financial freedom requires you to do your part. Knowing where your money is – literally speaking at all times is essential. Creating a budget, understanding incoming and outgoing, creating goals and doing the work to achieve them will allow you to invest in your family and future.

Having an expert already invested in your growth is a key factor in seamless transitions. When you’re ready to begin your personal journey with property and prosperity see the links throughout our description and below to connect with this episode’s guest hosts.

Ep 18: Those That Dare Hair!

Welcome world! This is Concrete and Blossom Podcast. In episode 18 and we found those that Dare Hair! We sit down with Salon owners of TX’s two most major cities – Houston and Dallas – Dominique Shotwell and Victoria Alfred.

-  Allow your hair to breathe (this is possible with weave/braids)

-  Clean your hair utensils and tools regularly

-  Use products recommended by a licensed professional

Listen listeners! You’ve heard it here, two very different experiences and preferences. One thing is for certain, as a previously licensed cosmetologist myself, LOVE YOUR HAIR first. Through all the wigs, braids, units, etc… when you love your hair properly, it flourishes.

Ep 17: Our Voices Have Voted! (LTW LadyK)

Ep 17: Our Voices Have Voted! (LTW LadyK)

Welcome World! It's Concrete and Blossom Podcast, here to create change through conversation. I’m one of your favorite creator and hosts DawnTheDoll and I am kicking off this magnificent Monday with Season 3 Ep 17: Our Voices Have Voted! America has spoken and it’s Biden/Harris 2020, although it’s not everyone’s preferred choice we can all agree it’s Bye then to Donald Trump! Let’s Talk w/ Lady K

So listen listeners, understanding politics is the first step to playing them. Self-education is self-care. What’s important to you? Who can you help put in place to drive initiatives to support policies that are important to you?

Dr. Renee Townsend said “Education is the remedy for ignorance. When you choose to remain uneducated, you fall into a terminal state of stupidity.”

Ep 10: The Art vs The Artist

Ep 10: The Art vs The Artist

Welcome World! This is Season 2 Episode 10 of Concrete and Blossom Podcast. Here minority millennials aspire to create Change Through Conversation. In this episode I join my co-host MistaD713 from Everything Culture Podcast as we sit down with LA based recording artist & songwriter MacFame as we plant the seed The Art vs The Artist in the music industry! Are the expectations of the fame AND the fans misplaced? Is the entertainment industry influencing your family and friends more than you are?

So Listen Listeners! There's a time, place, and age for everything. The music industry and its product/service of entertainment is not intended to be a life guide. Remember that music is made by people; a lot of times it is simply a creative outlet that proves financially beneficial. behind each musical track is a person that has the right to detach and be who they want, not who we want them to be.

Ep 8: Season 1 Focused Finale

Ep 8: Season 1 Focused Finale

Welcome world! This is episode 8 of Concrete and Blossom Podcast! The first series that consist of episodes 1 thru 7 have allowed me to capture a framework of the direction I want to keep moving forward. Some of my daily focus areas are:   • Mental health! Understanding you will not be okay all the time, and that, is okay! Being able to recognize when you’re not okay and having the resources available to create that healthy mental balance/space again   • Creating! Your own lane, your own brand, your own happiness, a stress-LESS life! The only true setback we face is our own fear and/or failure to Do It Anyway! Always be resilient! Motivating quote “the distance between your dreams and reality is action.” Create. Your. Life.   • Black Lives Matter! Recognizing the current state of the Black community in America is one of the most difficult realizations anyone could possibly have to come to terms with. The systemic racism and white privilege that America has been able to normalize over the last 5 decades is disgusting to say the least. It stops now.   Right now, is the time to self-reflect and self-direct. Create your own lane, do what makes you happy, and be a vessel of growth for your community in some way. We’ve got to stay responsible, accountable and intentionally balance our professional and personal. Communicate with transparency in both. When we concentrate on living to our fullest potentials, when we focus on vibrating at our highest energies, when we persevere… that’s when we turn our passions in to profits!  So, listen listeners, thanks for making this first month and series amazing. Ep 3: Successful Sis

Ep 3: Successful Sis

Welcome World! In this episode I have 2 very special, Dallas based female Black entrepreneurs helping me plant the seed “Successful Sis”.

We scratch the surface of a few topics including:

• Maintaining awareness of your mental health

• Creating your own lane

• We don’t compete with sis… we eat with sis!

Guest Hosts Quick Reads: Jennifer (Gigi) Brooks - Dallas, TX Jennifer Brooks otherwise know as “Gigi” is the visionary and creator behind the Cake Artistry at Gigi’s Sweets. Her passion for cake took her from being the “Baking Banker” to the Girl Boss she is today!

I’sha Gaines - Dallas, TX I must begin by revealing a small snippet of information about myself. First and foremost, I am a multi-passionate creative. It’s my strength and my weakness. I thoroughly enjoy the journey of compilation, facilitating, logistics and organizing creatively. By nature, I have a relentless drive to win that some may classify as a “super-power” and I strive to exhibit excellence in all that I do. My journey to self love has birthed many businesses and essentially has helped me blossom in a way that inspires, encourages and motivates others. Ultimately I provide women, businesses and creatives with the wellness and business resources they need to grow and thrive in healthier ways. I also provide women with plant-based feminine and skin care products through my latest venture Aloe.Curves

Premiere: Do It Anyway!

Premiere: Do It Anyway!

Welcome World! We all have lists! Things to do, people to meet with, fun activities we love, binge watch lists, goals, places to visit… many lists! Life is about experiencing and updating those lists so let’s talk about it.

On Concrete and Blossom’s premiere episode Do It Anyway! we dive into three factors to inspire you to take your next steps: self-reflection, using time wisely, and producing results.
• self-reflection: a difficult task to complete without bias! It’s an entire struggle when we begin to examine, un-wire, and re-wire ourselves from years of traits, habits, and behaviors. Do It Anyway! This growth is required to walk into what’s next for you. If you’re able to identify areas of growth within yourself… KUDDOS! Sometimes we need to isolate and retreat to evaluate without any external influences. Other times it may require a network of close people to help bring these traits or behavior to the forefront
• using time wisely: on a small scale you have 24 hours in each day which equates to 1,440 minutes. You must choose for yourself (in most cases) how you spend each… and every… single minute! Use YOUR time to direct energy and focus towards yourself. Self-reflection allows a beautiful thing to happen with time… awareness
•producing results: With awareness you can create sustainable changes and improvements; you can put yourself in a place of healthy progression. There will be obstacles, you may not always feel motivated… DO IT ANYWAY!
