As conductor, pedagogue, and scholar, Sandra Snow is widely acknowledged as one who brings singers of all ages and abilities to artful performance through an understanding of the music and its context in the world around them.  Dr. Snow is Director of Choral Programs and Area Chair of Conducting at the Michigan State University College of Music where she oversees graduate programs in choral conducting.

An active composer and performer, Mora has written commissions for ensembles such as the LA Master Chorale, Conspirare, Cincinnati Vocal Arts Ensemble, Mirabai, American Choral Directors Association, and countless others.  Her arrangements and original compositions for choir – especially those with her signature body percussion – are performed by millions of singers around the world.

Klo Vivienne Garoute is a conductor, singer, voice teacher, and composer/producer with specializations in choral music and audio production technologies. She carries a B.M. in Electronic Production & Design from Berklee College of Music and currently studies in the M.M. program in Choral Music at the University of Southern California

Today on conduct(her) Kyra and McKenna interview Dr. Zanaida Stewart Robles, an award-winning Black American female composer, vocalist, and teacher. She is a fierce advocate for diversity and inclusion in music education and performance. Born, raised, and educated in Southern California on the occupied lands of the Gabrielino-Tongva people, she is in demand as a composer, vocalist, clinician, and adjudicator for competitions, festivals, and conferences related to choral and solo vocal music. 

Suzi Digby was born in Japan and lived in Hong Kong, Mexico and the Philippines before settling in London, Cambridge and now Bath. She is an internationally renowned choral conductor and music educator. She has trail-blazed the revival of singing in UK schools and the community over three decades.

Margaret (Maggie) Burk is a conductor, choral singer, and composer dedicated to the transformative power of choral music. She is the recently-appointed Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsion.

Today on conduct(her) McKenna & Kyra interview Dr. Kathy Romey. Dr. Romey is the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Minnesota where she oversees the graduate program in choral conducting and conducts choirs. She is also the Artistic Director of the 200-voice symphonic chorus, The Minnesota Chorale.

Song is a music faculty at McCall School of Visual & Performing Art and serves as the Director of Choral Activities at Coker University. Song is an active conductor, clinician, music educator, and choral director for multiple professional, collegiate, community, church, and children’s choirs in both the United States and China.

Today on conduct(her), McKenna & Kyra interview conductor Karin Hendrickson. Karin, a conductor equally at home with opera and orchestra, maintains an international profile as an exceptional orchestra and opera pedagogue.

Today on conduct(her), McKenna & Kyra interview Elaine Stanford, Music Specialist for Loudoun County Public Schools. Prior to teaching in Loudoun County, Mrs. Stanford was the Choral Director at Oakton High School where she was twice named Teacher of the Year. She then spent five years as the Music Resource Teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools. Mrs. Stanford is a frequent guest conductor, adjudicator, and accompanist. 

Today on conduct(her), McKenna & Kyra interview Dr. Carole Ott Coelho. Coelho is the Associate Director of Choral Activities at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her degrees include the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in conducting from the University of Michigan where she studied with Jerry Blackstone and Theo Morrison. She also holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where her primary instrument was French Horn.

Today on conduct(her) Kyra and McKenna interview Dr. Sharon Paul who holds the Robert M. Trotter Chair of Music at the University of Oregon, where she currently serves as Department Head of Music Performance and Director of Choral Activities. She is also the author of Art & Science in the Choral Rehearsal, published by Oxford University Press, which features many of the creative and evidence-based teaching strategies she has cultivated over her career.
