We miss you, but ...
We miss you at Cornerstone! Even though we are meeting in person, we still miss all of you who are still waiting to start attending services. But ... we completely understand and we want you to do what is best for your health. We do want you to stay connected, and this episode of the podcast is all about how you can stay connected. Here are some ideas.
- Join our Connect at Cornerstone Group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/connectatcornerstone This is a safe place where you can post questions and encourage one another.
- Look for ways to continue serving. We are having our community meal next week. There will also be ways to help prepare our new building for opening. You can stay up to date by going to http://mycornerstone.fyi
- Think about joining or starting a LifeGroup. We will be starting a new semester of LifeGroups in September. You can plan on doing an in-person group if you can space out or if it is with your close friends you are already around. You can do a virtual group using Zoom or Google Meet. Or you can do a hybrid group with in-person and online attendance. We will be setting up our community room to help with these groups. We also plan on doing a larger group led by Mike and the Cornerstone Elders.
- Contact each other! Use email, texts, and phone calls to stay connected with the people you serve with and are connected to at Cornerstone.
Thanks for listening. Be sure to let us know how we can pray for you! Go to http://mycornerstone.fyi to let us know.
Early Summer Update

And finally, Mike shares about our current sermon series and our next series. Be sure to invite someone and join us online or in person on Sunday morning.
Welcome Back! Join us in person on June 7th at 9:15 or 11am at Cornerstone!
Connect at Cornerstone Podcast - Episode 11
Mike and Larry share what to expect, and give you advice about attending this Sunday as we reopen in-person worship. We understand that this is a complicated time. For some of you, you are excited and eager to return. However, for others, you may feel we are moving too fast. Just know that we have prayerfully considered what to do and we feel that it is time to resume a limited in-person worship service. We covet your prayers as a church as we move forward. We are hoping to start out very small and gradually increase attendance as local cases decrease. Here are the top 10 details for our re-opening.
1) We are moving back to our normal two services at 9:15 and 11am
2) Our focus will still be on Facebook Live, but we are now offering a small group the ability to come worship with us in person
3) We are asking that you go to http://mycornerstone.fyi to sign up and let us know which service you will attend. It will help us make sure we can keep everyone safe and separated
4) We are asking everyone to wear a mask unless you have a legitimate health problem that prevents it. We will have free masks available for anyone who needs one.
5) If you are at risk, sick, or worried, please join us online. We encourage you to stay home until you are comfortable attending.
6) There will be no children's ministry or cafe, so plan accordingly. We will have activity packs for any children that attend
7) Hand sanitizer will be provided at both entrances. The church will be cleaned before the first service, in between services, and after the second service, but we still ask that you wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, and please stay home if you are not feeling well.
8) Our greeters will be waiting to greet you with a smile (underneath their mask) and a friendly hello. They won't be shaking hands or sharing hugs, but they will be excited to see you.
9) You can sit together as family units, but leave space between you and other families. We ask that you also respect other people and not get too close. We know you are excited to see each other, but let's be safe!
10) And finally, as much as we like you to hang around after the service, we will need to exit after the service ends so that we can clean and prepare for the next service.
If you have any questions, please let us know!

from Mike Breen - Building a Discipleship Culture - "Put simply, building a culture of discipleship is the only way that you will produce the kind of community that Jesus and the New Testament writers would recognize as church. A dynamic living organism with sufficient organization to enable it to function effectively, yet remaining an authentic community that is full of the life of God. A community where hearts are open to the Lord, to one another and to a world in need."

Hebrews 10 tells us "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Some of the potential uses for the new Cornerstone Outreach Center will be:
- A gathering place for church and community events: Although we have a community room in our current facility, it is small and quite often overcrowded for events. This new facility could actually seat over 200 people for meals and events.
- Fellowship Hall & Kitchen Area: If you have ever been to one of our community meals, you know how much we could use the extra space. The larger space would also allow us better ministry opportunities to coincide with the events since we could then get everyone in the room (rather than staggered over a couple hours’ time).
- Youth Meeting Area: Currently our youth meet in the Worship Center upstairs. The new building would give them an area that is more appropriate for games, meals, and teaching.
- Concerts and Special Events: Having additional space would open up the possibility of doing many more community outreach events.

Verses mentioned in this episode
Esther 4:13-14 NLT
13 Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: “Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. 14 If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
Matthew 11 NLT
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Hebrews 10 NLT
23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
