In addition to the ongoing provision of care they offer, Hope for Wildlife aims to connect people to wildlife in a positive way through knowledge and understanding. Every year, they assist over 10,000 callers through their wildlife helpline, welcome thousands of visitors to their facilities for tours, give hundreds of offsite educational presentations to community and school groups, and collect a wide range of data from animals treated at their rehabilitation centre. After living and working in Toronto for over 2 years, they realized that they didn’t know a lot about the country they called home. So they gathered their savings, quit their jobs and started exploring Canada in their Jeep Wrangler JL. Their journey began February of 2020, but was cut short by the pandemic in April (only 2 months into their trip). With no sign of travel restrictions being lifted, they put the Jeep into park and shifted their sense of adventure to building an off-the-grid cabin in Nova Scotia. Several months, lots of tough decisions, blood, sweat and tears later, their off-grid cabin by the lake was complete. They now sneak off on weekend adventures, exploring the backroads of Nova Scotia. They share their experiences on PROJECT JEEPLIFE (Instagram, YouTube & Facebook) and aim to continue living a life filled with Travel-Overlanding-Off-Grid Living and anything else life throws at them.

Their journey began when they lost their jobs at the Poet’s Cove Resort due to the pandemic. They moved to Hall’s family cabin and half acre farm on Pender Island, British Columbia, whee they now raise pigs, chickens, turkeys and bees, plus they maintain a year-long garden and fish and forage for crabs, seaweed and halibut from the ocean, right at their doorstep. They are currently about 7 months through their journey, with their challenge scheduled to end on Aug 3, 2021. They have been documenting their journey on the Connected To The Land website.

Her Yellow Brick Road Farm is on an acre of land on Cape Sable Island (not the one with the horses….well they do have horses but it's not THAT Sable Island). Cape Sable Island is located on the very Southwest tip of Nova Scotia, Canada and it is very MUCH a fishing village.  Jennifer and her husband Trevor, the reluctant farmer, raised their four children there: Courtney, married to Big Luke and living on their own with grandsons Owen and Oliver ; Logan, 19 living on his own as he finishes up becoming an Electrician; Charlize 16; and Little Luke 12.
