029 Realistic Expectations
I put my hand up, yes I did not set up a realistic expectation when I started Connect Her.  I was caught up in the moment, the excitement and blazoned on through with my un-realistic expectation.  It wasn't until the dust had settled, I calmed down. I realised I hadn't really thought things  through. I certainly wasn't being realistic in my expectations, I took a moment and then went through my S.M.A.R.T goal setting process and some reverse planning (see episode 017 Reverse Planning) to start setting realist expectations. When asked what my vision for Connect Her was, #1000connections easily slipped out of my mouth. It had been sitting in my notebook waiting for the day for it to be uttered and out there in the universe. That was the day I got goosebumps, then there was the day that I realised #1000Connections means so much more than what I had initially intended. Magic happens when women come together and support each other.  Imagine the magic that would be criss-crossing across and around Australia with #1000connections every month.   Women in business would be electric! www.connecther.com.au

013 Be Who You Want to Be!
We all are subjected to multiple hats and labels. We wear multiple  every day, week, month and year.   Our lives change, our businesses change and we have to adapt, evolve and consider our options.  Sometimes, it is needed to sit down and take some time out to re-access, re-focus and remind ourselves of what it is we truly want and who we want to be. This exercise I have used over the years when the time has arisen to take stock.   Be sure to have some butchers paper or large sheets at the ready along with some lovely colored pens, some soft music and silence.
