Light therapy has been around for awhile. But there's a lot of confusion regarding how it actually works and its intended use. Photomodulation therapy (also known as red light therapy) is a light therapy using a new class of hi-tech devices called Cold Laser machines to treat pain, inflammation and speed up recovery. It has the ability to boost your general health and wellness, your immune system, helps with weight loss and even helps prevent illness.

Light therapy is becoming more and more common in the world of cosmetic treatments. The process has been used for ages for skin care and to improve healing (acupuncture, for instance). Even though light therapy has been researched over the last 20 years, recently, scientists have found way more than just medical benefits from this treatment. In today's podcast, we discuss a little bit about what it is light therapy and what it does for our bodies on a chemical level; We outline why it's becoming so crowded in the anti-aging community; describe some devices you can try at home; and discuss our general favorite ways to use light therapy in a practical sense.


Light therapy is a safe and natural treatment used to combat everything from a short term case of the blues, to long term degenerative conditions, like cancer, chronic pain, and even sunburn. As many of you know my studio specializes in this very modulating light using both Ultra Violet and Red Light as a way to heal and maintain health for people of all ages. Headaches and migraines can severely impact your life and make you lose out on important things. If you're like a lot of people, you might get frequent headaches and migraines. Maybe all the over the counter medications aren't working so well for you. But there are plenty of natural ways to manage these pesky developments that nature can throw your way and it's all explained in this podcast.

We also share my discovery on how a common household product could be linked to autism.

Migraines and headaches can be managed using natural methods. Many of the over-the-counter medications on the market are loaded with chemicals that can be harmful for your health. In this podcast, Dr. Thom gives tips on how to avoid some of these products. He also tells about a surprising discovery with Autism and why you need to STOP taking this specific OTC if you are under the age of 30. 

In this episode, we  go over the different types of headaches (and migraines) the natural ways to treat them, and a little known secret that can help with immune function.

In the 2022 review, led by Jasmine Cendejas-Hernandez of Duke University states that a 2008 case-controlled study led by Stephen Schulz was the first to indicate acetaminophen’s adverse effect on neurodevelopment. Through parental survey research they found that children with autistic disorder (n=83) were far more likely to have received acetaminophen after MMR vaccination than healthy control children (n=80). Ibuprophen use was not associated with an increase rate of autism.

According to Cendejas-Hernandez et al, the American College of Obstetritions and Gynecologists (ACOG) has refused to caution against acetaminophen use during pregnancy. ACOGS clinical guidance for physicians is not to change clinical practice until prospective studies are done. The Duke researchers respond: “it is difficult to rationalize the need for such a high level of certainty regarding a drug never demonstrated to be safe or life-saving, where judgement should presumably err on the side of caution and avoidance of harm… the drug would not meet current safety standards during preclinical testing due to adverse, long-term neurological effects in laboratory animals, and thus would never reach phase 1 testing under the current regulatory system.”

Write down all the emotions that came up for you in your memory. 

Make a list of all the emotions. 

Once you have a list go through each emotion ask yourself which one is resonates with you more than the other. 

For instance love and connection. Do you need to feel love to have connection or do you need connection to feel love. Compare your top emotion to the next work on the list. Go down until you find your top emotion. Then go through again for find your second emotion.

Once you have your top 2 emotions fill in the blanks.

The purpose of my life is to feel (EMOTION #1) with all parts of myself and my higher power and express the (EMOTION #2) that results while inspiring others to feel the same.

This statement is your purpose in life and how you would like to connect with others. Remember this is can change as you continue to heal and grow.

How Do I Know If Earthing Is Working For Me?

We recommend that when you start to keep a journal or note book and rate your conditions from 1 to 10.  10 being the worst and 1 being the best. Start journalling the first night you put your sheet on or use your mat and rate your conditions, return to the journal the next week and rate your condition again and see if the numbers have improved.  Do this over a few months to get a true indication as to your conditions improving. We have found that as this Earthing healing energy is very subtle, your new way of life becomes your "new normal" and you may carry on with life just as before without pain, without too much stress and this is now your new reference and you may think that Earthing is not working for you any longer as you have become accustom to your new way of well being. Well there is an easy way to test this.... leave your sheet off or don't use your mats for a week or two and you may start to see old illnesses return or you may not sleep as well - its that easy.   If you are healthy to begin with you may not notice any changes, however, you get rest assured that you are providing your body with a natural electrical nutrient, that it requires to stay well and live long.
