La Mariposa

La Mariposa

Luz Elena Bernal aka La Mariposa was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco and came to the United States when she was 12 years old. She had to learn a new language and get used to a whole new way of living.  She worked for 4 years at a mall before getting married at the age of 20. And after suffering domestic violence for seven years, she divorced her husband and kept full custody of her two boys. With the help of her family, she began a new life, became a full-time phlebotomist at a local hospital, yet that wasn’t enough for Luz Elena, she wanted more for her family, she realized, her boys were growing, and life was getting only more expensive. She’s very passionate about helping people in any way possible and she saw the lack of education some women have regarding buying real estate as she once had been (under-educated in real estate). And just like that she began her journey to become a real estate agent and now she works with a great company in which she’s part of an amazing and supportive real estate team.  In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her boys and partner hiking, playing games, and watching movies together.  Luz Elena mentioned that her card would be La Mariposa, because like a butterfly, she has spread her beautiful, strong, and resilient wings that have taken flight and the sky is the limit.

Liliana with Tamara on childhood Trauma, EMDR, and The Trauma Erase Method

Liliana with Tamara on childhood Trauma, EMDR, and The Trauma Erase Method

Episode Description: Tamara Ridge is a survivor of childhood trauma who knows first-hand how childhood experiences of trauma perpetuate into romantic relationships that repeat the patterns of childhood because the relationship skills needed to survive a harmful childhood aren’t the same skills that lead to healthy, safe, secure adult friendships and romantic involvements. Like many Marriage and Family Therapists, Tamara pursued her career as a therapist from a subconscious drive to resolve her own painful experiences and try to correct the harm done to her by “healing the world.” She became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist over 25 years ago and has since been extremely disappointed with what the mental health field has to offer survivors of childhood trauma. Armed with a unique approach that combines lived experience with self-healing practices and a sharp research mentality, Tamara created The Trauma Erase Method: to empower trauma survivors to systematically eliminate the impact of trauma in their lives. She is the founder and director of Trauma Free Nation, a closed online social network where members actively benefit from the Trauma Erase Method as well as support from Tamara twice per week via group zoom meetings where members are empowered in applying the principles in their personal healing journey. Tamara is also the author of the Inner Wisdom & Gratitude Journal for Trauma Survivors which is featured in Tamara’s weekend Mini-Workshop that helps survivors reconnect with their inner wisdom that was lost because of trauma. You can find Tamara Ridge on Facebook, YouTube, IG @centerforhealingtrauma and Tik Tok! Learn more about Trauma Free Nation at www.centerforhealingtrauma.com
