As human beings we are NOT meant to stay where we are. When we do a slow death happens internally and we will pay a huge price for that.   

The price you pay will cost you in all areas of your life and will continue to cost you in all areas and there are huge consequences at stake until you chose to rise, be brave, do something different, get support and make positive change.   

When we stagnate, we stop growing and evolving and from a place of stagnation things actually get worse, we spiral downwards and that affects all areas of our life.

I am back with our Divorce Series today and I’m bringing to you Part Three of The Divorce Series. So just a little recap on Part One and Part Two and what I covered there. If you are yet to listen to these episodes (I encourage you to do so today). 

In part one I asked you an important question in terms of where you are right now in your relationship journey. Maybe you are separated/divorced a long time but you still feel quite emotional and triggered by your ex-partner or maybe you have had a realisation for some time that your current relationship/marriage no longer serves you and you are petrified at what to do next or maybe you’re just wanting to understand more about this topic to support a friend/family member/loved one in your life. I shared on part one a little about my own personal story and I spoke about the messages my body was giving to me through anxiety and the realisation I had. 

In part two I spoke about what you must attend to first and foremost (before choosing to walk away or leave a relationship/marriage). I also spoke about the range of feelings and emotions you will experience on any given day and I also spoke about all the losses that come with separation and divorce and what you must grieve (you can’t skip this step). I also spoke about the importance of doing the real inner work. The amount of personal work you chose to do will depend on the success of your healing. 

In part three today I want to answer a brilliant question I received from one of our community members. I know that many of you will be able to relate to this one today and I know it will support many of you as well.

By the way, thank you so much for those of you who responded publicly and privately to my question I put out on Social Media about creating this series. I’ve had such an overwhelming response and it’s really inspiring to see so many of you want to learn and understand more about this topic, which can be a pretty loaded topic. 

Everything I share, I always share from a space of my own personal integrated experience and like everything in life I encourage you to take what resonates from this series and leave the rest. 

I’m sensing you’re wanting to know more about this topic because of one of a couple of reasons: 

You are navigating an incredibly painful separation/divorce right now and perhaps you’re wondering if there is another way/a better way. 

You feel utterly lost and you don’t know who you are anymore now that your identity is not tied to your partner or the marriage. 

You separated/divorced from your ex-partner a long time ago (maybe it’s been years, maybe even a decade) but you still feel bitter, you are still incredibly emotional and you are easily triggered by your ex-partner.

Which wolf are you feeding? 

Which wolf are you giving your most energy to every day? 

What do I mean by this? Please let me explain. 

You have a black and a white wolf that lives within you. The black wolf is the part of you that will choose to numb out with wine, food, technology, sex and so on. 

It’s the part of you that won’t do what is nourishing for your body, mind, and spirit. While the other wolf (the white wolf) is the part of you that knows you’re worthy of true nourishment and you know what you need to give yourself. The wolf that you chose to give energy to is the wolf that wins. 

You can’t get rid of the black wolf. She will always be there. Just like you can’t get rid of the white. She too will always be there but you will only see a small part of her if you are choosing to feed the black wolf most of the time. You also can’t deny or disown the dark/black wolf. You must accept this part of yourself. You must listen to her but you can choose whether you’re going to go down the black wolf rabbit hole.

It’s so important to challenge yourself with this question from time to time to prevent yourself from stagnancy and living a mediocre live of survival mode and merely going through the motions. 

Yet every day I speak to women who are in survival mode, with little to no life force energy and they’re feeling incredibly dissatisfied in many if not all areas of their life yet they are choosing to stay in that very place and this makes me very sad. 

So again I ask you this question today:

Every single day each and every one of us faces change (whether we realise it or not) – whether it’s a change in our schedule or a change in the weather or a change in our thoughts and feelings (moment to moment). 

I was reminded of this quote earlier this week "The only constant in life, is change". 

This is the only thing that we can be sure of but why then does change affects us differently and why do we deal with change differently.

45: Everyone Needs A Coach

“Everyone needs a coach.” These are the words Bill Gates chose to open one of his Ted Talks I recently listened to and I couldn’t agree more with this statement. 

The truth is that we all need people in our lives who give us feedback. That’s how we improve and become better human beings so that we can show up as our best authentic selves. Eric (former CEO of Google) shared how this has been one of the best pieces of advice he has received (in terms of getting a coach) and how it served Google very well. 

Every famous athlete, every famous performer and every successful entrepreneur has somebody who’s a coach. Someone who can watch what they’re doing and say ‘is that what you really meant’, ‘is that what you really want’, they can give them perspective. The one thing that people are never good at is seeing themselves as others see them. 

The one thing that people are never good at is seeing their own blind spots and a coach really helps with that. I have coached and supported and guided women from coming off medication (they had been on for 20+ years), to overcoming their worst fears, to doubling their salary, to 10X their business, to starting their own business, to leaving jobs, to moving interstate, to getting crazy pay-rises, to receiving their dream job, to writing their first book, to publishing their first book, to creating a baby, to getting married and I’ve coached women through a lot of endings and navigating very painful divorces and marriage breakdowns and navigating chronic illness and major transition and crisis. 

I’ve seen it all but do you know what I ADORE the most? 

Supporting women through the impossible. An impossible goal (one they’ve been trying to do alone for years, even decades). I love to witness the delight on their face when they tick this off only after a matter of weeks or months of our work together!

Today I want to talk to you about the ‘Signs of a midlife awakening?’ 

Why, because I support so many women navigating this every day and I know many of you will relate to what I have to share today and perhaps you can pass it on and share it with another woman you know is also navigating this. 

Midlife can be a time of intense emotional turmoil for a woman. It can be a huge turning point in a woman’s life. It really can begin at any point for a woman – but commonly in a woman’s mid to late 30's or early to mid to late 40's, or even as late as her early 50’s – she can start to feel this nagging sense that something is missing from her life, there has to be more and she feels a sense of loss on some level. 

However, it spans from age 35 to 65.

40: How to Deal With Your Own Loneliness

Today I want to talk to you about loneliness and what to do with it when this feeling arises within you. 

I learned a lot about loneliness while on my recent vision quest. 

In fact, this was the very thing I was fearing the most before I headed out for 3 days alone. And I’ll go as far as saying that I was even ‘dreading’ it on some level. Because I won’t deny it, I have felt ‘extreme’ loneliness this year due to much change in my life. 

But something quite magical and very beautiful happened while I was out alone in the wilderness. 

Over the 3 days, I didn’t feel alone, in fact, I didn’t feel any loneliness whatsoever. I felt so connected to Mother Nature and so connected to my soul. I realised over those 3 days that I’m never really alone. That I always have myself and Mother Nature is always around us and that I realised that my experience of loneliness in the past was based off a misunderstanding that I am separate and that being with another person would ‘fix’ that ache and pain inside. 

What I realised is that what I was longing for the most at that moment is a connection to that feeling of oneness, and feeling connected to my soul.

Welcome back. I took a little break for a while as you would have noticed. I went on vision quest which was an incredibly powerful and very deep experience for 12 days (an experience I am still integrating right now and will be doing so over the next few weeks and months). I've been back from vision quest for 10 days now and I have to admit that life feels different. 

The best way I can explain this is that I feel like a baby chick that has just cracked open her shell and I am learning how to walk and move in the world again. Now I'm back to being of service to you guys and today on the show I am bringing a question actually that gets asked often in our energy for life academy so I know that you too perhaps have experienced these same thoughts. 

And the question is: "I feel like my family judges me and it causes me to be emotional. How do I move past this experience?"

I just want to remind you today that your mind can be very sneaky and it's very good at creating stories that simply aren't true.

Today I want to talk to you about the importance of taking a retreat and the benefits that this will have not only in your personal life but also in your business.   

Every single year, many people escape their country and head overseas for a break to withdraw from their everyday life for a week or two or sometimes even three or four. 

However, they often don’t get to truly relax and recharge on these kinds of holidays – it’s often aimed at rescuing them from an undesired or unpleasant situation and whisking them off to an exotic location. What often happens is that there’s an overindulgence in food and often alcohol too. So, we don’t really reap any of those powerful healing benefits (long term anyway).   

However, retreats offer something deeper and that’s what I want to share with you here today and also to encourage you to give yourself this beautiful gift where you will reap the benefits for many weeks and months to come.   

So, what is a retreat firstly?

Spring is almost upon us here in the Southern Hemisphere. Gosh, what a quick winter that was! We cross over into Spring on 01st Sept here in the Southern Hemisphere. I'm not sure about you, but spring is one of my favourite seasons. 

I welcome the beginning of the lighter and brighter evening's and the temperature starts to increase again. 

Spring is a season of new beginnings, beginning of all sorts of things are happening and growing. We're bringing life to new things (ideas, projects). 

Spring holds that beautiful new beginning energy. We're provided with another opportunity to grow after the quietness, stillness, and introspection of the winter. We have a chance to start again with spring and to do this we must look to the future, the past and the present. 

This is a good time for us to look at our new year intentions to see how we're tracking because we're moving into the last quarter of the year.

Welcome to Episode 35 Dealing with Loss and Grief. 

I have personally been moving through a lot of loss and grief in the last couple of months I feel I could write a book about it (and maybe I will one day). We know that change and Loss is a part of life (however we often resists this when it arrives to greet us). 

The Transformation Cycle begins with a breakdown in our life - it is a period of chaos and inner turmoil - often occurring from a triggering event that happens in our life - it could be the loss of a loved one, a separation/divorce, a change in your financial situation, a loss of job or change in career, empty nest. I want to mention here that even the happy events in life such as having a baby or getting married or getting a new job or creating a business can trigger grief (as we lose our old identity and a new identity is built). 

And so what follows during this time - is a period of utter grief. 

Grief can be different for everyone but it usually includes some of the following emotions: sadness, anger, denial, fear, anxiety, despair, bitterness, until finally, the surrender happens and we reach a point of letting go.

This episode was created from my heart to yours was inspired by an inspiring video I watched yesterday.   Are you choosing to live life from a space of FEAR and SECURITY every day?   

Courage is so important on your path. When I look back at my life (even as far back as a young little girl) I believe I have never lived my life any other way.   

I always have challenged the status quo. I wanted to be different (and I don’t mean that in an egotistical way) and I wanted to create a different life for myself. I didn’t want my life to be a box and restrictive. I didn’t want to be boxed or caged into a 9 to 5 job and the only thing to be looking forward to was my weekends and holidays. I wanted to look forward to every day and live every day with a sense of passion and excitement and I am very blessed that my work enables me to do this. And I’m not going to say ‘lucky’ because I’ve worked very hard to get where I am and maybe my father taught me this. He showed me from a very young age (as he was and still is an entrepreneur and a very successful one at that) what was truly possible and that I didn’t have to be like everyone else!

In order to receive long last change in your life, you need to understand the difference between information versus transformation. Information does not cause transformation and this is where I see so many women getting stuck every single day. 

We live in an age of information overload which means that information is literally at our fingertips. I see so many women every day getting ‘stuck’ in the consumption of information – they are watching every free webinar, listening and subscribing to podcasts, watching YouTube videos, reading books and blogs but that’s all they are doing. 

They’re actually overloading their nervous systems into a place of total overwhelm. Because the more information you consume with little to no action – the more stuck you feel and stay. 

Transformation is the caterpillar that turns into a beautiful butterfly. 

It’s an acorn that grows into a tree. 

It’s a rosebud that grows into a beautiful rose. 

It’s a dramatic, positive transformative change.

Today I want to talk to you about The Real Effects Of Complaining   

This episode today is inspired by a quote I saw the other day from Eckhart Tolle. 

“See if you can catch yourself complaining, in either speech or thought, about a situation you find yourself in, what other people do or say, your surroundings, your life situation, even the weather. To complain is always nonacceptance of what is. It invariably carries an unconscious negative charge. When you complain, you make yourself into a victim. When you speak out, you are in your power. So, change the situation by taking action or by speaking out if necessary or possible; leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness.”   

What a brilliant quote!   

Complaining actually rewires your brain for more negativity. 

Complaining can be so tempting sometimes because it can feel good to offload but it’s really not good for you (the same way taking drugs, smoking, eating crap or consuming copious amounts of alcohol is not good for you) and it’s very disempowering to stay in a space of ‘complaining’. 

When you complain repeatedly this rewires your brain to complain in the future and so it becomes easier for you to slip into that space. You get stuck in a vicious cycle. Then what happens is overtime your default just becomes negative and that of complaining – where you find it easier to be in a negative space than positive. 

There is nothing empowering about being a victim!
