With a mission to unify creativity through compassion and knowledge. FROM Ben Marcum , “ I was a sound designer for many years. My early midlife crisis saw me leave the theatre and pick up a camera. That journey took me to specializing in headshots (seemed a natural fit after the theatre) As i continued i discovered a loved creating "classic" styled portraits and boudoir/nude with an "artistic" feel. I am married to an amazing woman. We have 3 cats and soon to be adding 3 chickens” Questions for Ben Marcum Why is art important? Chickens and Cats, how will that work? Can you measure the success of a person, business, or community on their level of arts engagement?  Best advice on staying mentally healthy during these times? A conversation with musician and spiritual director, Jamie Barnes -Exploring the Creative Process in Isolation
Learn to Copy write your work:  https://www.ascap.com/ BIO Information provided by: ~ Jason Lymangrover, Rovi Twitter:@jamiebarnes WEBSITE:  jamiebarnes.bandcamp.com Most of Jamie Barnes' laid-back indie folk is highly personal work that incorporates religious imagery, love notes, and internal struggles. With a strong aptitude for learning instruments by ear, he includes a wide variety of small household instruments like toy piano, xylophone, flute, tabla, and glockenspiel in his bedroom recordings, but generally builds his songs around his soothing voice and a lone acoustic guitar. Barnes picked up his first guitar at age 11, and began sharpening his skills in family jam sessions with his father, who had played in a band that opened for the Doors and the Beach Boys, and his big brother. At 15, Barnes began playing around Louisville, KY, with a few bands. Around the time he was 18, after being inspired by the imagery of Songs of Leonard Cohen and other emotionally provocative artists like Low, Tom Waits, and Gillian Welch, Barnes created a demo with the hopes of making music that was akin to a comforting dream. He shopped his homemade CD around to a handful of labels and then went off to play some shows with After the Panic. When he returned, he received a response from Brian John Mitchell at Silber. In 2003, before Barnes was 20, Silber released his lo-fi debut album, The Fallen Acrobat, which he had recorded in his bedroom over the course of a year. In 2006, Barnes followed his debut with the more complex and rewarding Honey from the Ribcage. This release displayed a more orchestrated and personal approach to songwriting, with underlying tones of questioned spirituality and distress. "Second Guess My Own" illustrates how he lost several years from his life due to a memory loss, and "Red Prescription" is about his battle with the prescription drugs that caused that memory loss. Here, his lyrics often act as a diary tracking his fears and life-altering events, simultaneously drawing parallels to the biblical story of Samson. After this record, Barnes relocated to the Sonablast label; The Recalibrated Heart, a fuller album that continued to follow his spiritual journey into the intimate realms of self-produced bedroom recording, arrived in 2007.

BE THE FENCE: A short story of restoration and learning LOVE
What is your Love Language? I show Love through Acts of Service And this project was certainly a service. Mom and I had a convo about control issues and I was able to tap into her need to control things by pulling us out of the dialogue about what needed to be controlled…an said I felt like the fence… it pulled her view point from looking at the control dynamics between the two of us and offered her a less personal perspective. Mom, I am the Fence, moldy, worn out, broken and splintered in many places, let me give myself a makeover. I’m sure many of you have heard of Love Languages and how we like to give and also how we receive love.

The TOA OF WATER
Taoism is a philosophical concept which has offered fundamental guidance for individuals around the world.  Through studying the importance of gentle leadership and community outreach the following sound clip has guided the key principals and stepping stones for the creation of COSMIC FLOW STUDIO.  Currently the Studio Space serves as a website and the building lives in my imagination; my hope is to see it take shape within the next 5 years.  The details are like water, fluid and ever flowing.
