Shale Wong, MD, MSPH, is a pediatrician and professor of  pediatrics and family medicine at the University of Colorado School of  Medicine, teaching child health, advocacy, policy and health care reform  with focused interests in integrated care and achieving health equity.  She is director of the Eugene S. Farley, Jr. Health Policy Center and  Vice Chair for Policy and Advocacy in the Department of Pediatrics. Wong  served as health policy advisor to First Lady Michelle Obama for  development and implementation of her signature child obesity  initiative, Let’s Move, and assisted in launching Joining Forces to  improve wellness and resilience of military families. Additionally, she  was a senior program consultant to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  Wong continues to serve on several national and community boards. As a  lifelong dancer, she is inspired to advance health through the arts.

INTRODUCTION

Cleo's guest today is her long-time friend and colleague, Dr. Harvey  Milkman.  They have collaborated on numerous projects, combining the  science of psychology with the creative arts to shape new elements of  healing and enpowerment for young people struggling with various issues of dependancy and displacement.

As we're all aware , the importance of maintaining our physical and  mental well-being is of even greater significance than we could have  imagined just a short time ago.  In the absence of access to studios and  work-out facilities, we're needing to find new ways to exercise - and yet, do so safely and effectively.  Our guests  today Jan Dunn and Sutton Anker  have information to share that will insure we  all stay strong and healthy - and that we have a great time doing so.Cleo speaks health and dance with :

Sutton Anker, MSc, is my colleague who works with DDMA as a dance trainer, and  also works with both SiDI (Safe in Dance International) and IADMS, the  International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.

Today, we're talking with Amelia Dietz, Director of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Academy.  Having been  a professional dancer and a member of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble for 6 seasons, Amelia has brought a unique perspective  to the further development of a vibrant and innovative schedule of  classes for the Academy, and is now directing CyberDance 2020 - bringing  an ever-growing offering of virtual classes for students of all ages and levels of ability to access from home.
