Culture During Covid
The Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns saw many people reach for a new creative outlet or rekindle an old one. But it was also a time when creative groups who used to meet regularly were forced to stop their activities or find digital solutions to stay connected.
Creative Lives recruited PhD intern Amy McTurk of the University of St Andrews to carry out a research project, capturing the resilience and imagination of creative groups who kept on meeting despite the odds.
Here, Amy speaks to representatives from Lewis & Harris Youth Concert Band, Loud & Proud Choir, Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra, Amina Muslim Women's Centre, Social Circus in Athens, Step Change Dance Studios and Albatross Arts to find out how they brought people together to stay creative during this most challenging of times.
