Creatives is a pod cast for the support, promotion, and inspiration of Creatives and those who want to be. I’m your host Ken Lehnig. Welcome to Creatives What you will hear on this podcast is the exploration, unpacking the reality of creativity, to chat with creatives and their expression in the world, and the way that expression is realized. We are going to go deeper into the artistic soul, and heart, that is the underpinning of all creatives. When we acknowledge our creative nature, we travel that same road; no matter the level of our competence. We share this journey.
In this time of hard positions the truth will be revealed. The universe is dynamic and ever-changing. It is the same for human beings. Creatives must take the lead in leading us forward. Open minds and hearts are what is needed in everyone..
There are those times when you are not inspired to creative action. Perhaps the muse is just being patient and waiting for you to be inspired but what happens around you, or maybe there is a time already determined when your effort is needed in the world. For me , I always work on a project even if I'm not inspired, just to keep up my skills and perhaps what I create is meant to inspire something else and that was what you have been patiently waiting for.
Is this pandemic creating a surge if creativity? The lockdown, social distancing and mask wearing is the antithesis of what it is to be human. I believe the universe is feeding us much more creative energy than before. Our basic humanity is being threatened by our leaders and the creative energy flooding in is the remedy to return us to our healthy and balanced human state.
In this time of fear and concern a way to stay healthy and happy is to be creative. Being in the creative process puts the brain in a different mode. Fear causes a fight, stay frozen, or flight response and being locked down and afraid is unhealthy. Working on a creative project will take the stress off the mind and body. Even if you don't consider yourself creative now is the time to look at what creative projects may interest you.
There is no denying that there is a "pandemic" but what we are now doing in response is the antithesis of being human. We as humans are not designed to be in a months long state of fear and anxiety that will cause more serious health issues than Covid 19. We must put a stop to the fear-mongering and get on with being human beings. Creativity is at stake here and the need is more important than ever.
In this weird and stressful time of concern and fear being a creative is difficult. Are you finding that you are searching for a way to keep your creativity active? Perhaps the creative energies are needed and are coming in a different and more urgent manner.
The makeup of the body and mind is spiritual, cellular, and chemical. What you think and the emotional state you are in has a direct effect on your health and well being. Creativity is a natural state optimized by health, peace and happiness. If we acknowledge that we are all creatives then this time colored by doubt and fear will have minimal influence on us. Work at being happy even if outside influences are telling you to be isolated and fearful. This too shall pass.
In these times there are Creative people but all of us must be creative now, in order to live well and stay human. Re -inventing the way we live is a prerogative we all face. The way we did our lives before the pandemic had us be complacent and perhaps not living in a way that supported our humanity. Now we face a different world and the choices we make now will define how we come into the world after all of this is over.
Each Creative's completed effort is a small light for humanity. It is the accumulation of millions of small lights that elevated the human condition. Often it is not the loud , brash, and huge events that change the world for the better it is the small things, those little bits of light that take individuals to a higher place. Those huge events in the scope of time are but storms in a teacup. When a million little lights effect a million people things change, for the better, without the noise and fury. That is the purpose of a creative.
It's too easy, especially now, to make and create from opinion and agenda. When you do you are skillful not creative. Be true as a creative to allow your heart and that creative cosmic energy to create something new, something that moves humanity forward..
New science has discovered that the heart has millions of neurons, making it another thinking organ which we weren't aware we possessed. Have the "romantics" throughout human existence understand something we have put aside as frivolous that may be, in fact, our salvation. Creatives tap into their hearts to do the work they do, perhaps all of us should start thinking more with our hearts than our two sided and often conflicted brains.
The ground of being for any Creative is individuality. The channeling of creativity comes through a compassionate individual with a clear view of the world. I believe Creatives will bring us into a better world as long we avoid falling into destructive, alienating, and de-humanizing group-think.
What if there was a new renaissance coming where we as human beings transcend the strife and struggle of this world we all are responsible for creating? What would that world look like? Creatives may lead us into a new paradigm due to a vibrational change in the structure of reality. Can we by intention usher in this new age.
Making the prediction that this current hate, vitriol and, cultural blindness will come to an end and we as Creatives must and will usher in a new reality, where the better qualities of what it is to be a human being are brought to the forefront.
I rant a bit about the de-humanizing way the world is heading and how important it is to resist the move to separate and and create a new norm that belittles the importance of human contact and association. That human closeness is what it is to be human and even more so for the Creative.
Life can be difficult and it's easy to be complacent. This time we are in now gives us time to see where our complacency was affecting our lives. The universe speaks to us if we are able to see and hear and give what we see and hear meaning.
Many of us are anxiety crippled as far as our creative output is concerned. It can be hard with all the worries and fears this terrible time can induce. Here are some techniques to help restore the creative muse.
Now is the time to step up the intensity of your creative efforts. As we come out of this terrible time creative output is more important than it has ever been. We creatives are going to be very important in the remaking of the new world into which we are heading.
The greatest harm that this health event is creating separation from our important relationships. Relationships are a creative act and will need to be nurtured when this event is over. Ken examines the real and esoteric issues associated with being locked down.
One can certainly see the bad and evil in the world. The creative is important in the world. What is created during times of crisis or difficulty moves humanity in a positive way. The creative must trust the project and the process.
We are all in this together. Don't feel alone you have resources and you should stay connected using technology. This is a time for creatives to further their skills and look into ideas and concepts you didn't have time to do before. This terrible time could end up being a very productive time for Creatives in discovering the reason for our creativity, our need for humanity for inspiration and support.
In time of crisis creativity can be energized. It is a matter of managing the world's need and the creatives need to work. The universe requires much more from creatives during times of crises. Stress is needed in order to create something that never existed into something that now exists for the betterment of humanity.
This episode is more esoteric. Ken `discusses the new science around the energy field around the heart and his view of the whole person as a creative force using the heart and both sides of the brain. An interesting and mind provoking talk. With a nod to the Templers unfortunate day of Friday the 13th.
Ken talks about the importance of never saying good enough. Complete your project. Ken explains the repercussions of letting an unfinished project being seen by the world. Trust yourself that you know when something you are working on is complete, no matter your skill level, or experience.
From the first seed thought about a new project to actually starting it. What does it take to maintain the energy to work and develop your project to completion? Ken offers insights into the process of maintaining the energy and focus to take your project to a declared finish.
Being a creative is often taken as "Oh. It's just something I do." That shouldn't be your attitude toward the gift you have been given. Be grateful and thankful for the gift you have. Being egocentric is of course destructive but an honest appreciation for you abilities to create for the benefit of humanity is a high calling.
What is a block? What is happening when your project stops and you run out of ideas? Writers block, bad decisions, huge fails, the muse disappears - what is really going on when those frustrating events happen. Here is an eye-opening podcast on the creative process.
Honesty and integrity are still important in a world that has decided to shrug shoulders and look the other way. But for Creatives it is integral to the process that honesty and integrity is as much a part of any project as the effort and materials used. Honoring the source of creativity requires something more than what is sadly common place in the workings of a flawed world.
This is the first interview on the podcast with Mark C. Jackson. He is most certainly a Creative. In this episode Mark speaks on his creative journey and what it requires to take your creative effort to the level of being a professional and what is needed personally to stay there.
Money is almost always an issue with Creatives. This podcast looks at money and how the internet can be important in learning skills and letting the Creatives work being seen, heard, sold, or read. Ken also speaks to the need to stay on track, to continue to improve you skills, and rising to the be the best communicator at the medium in which you work.
This episode Ken talks about putting yourself in a state of mind that facilitates creativity. The distracting noise of the world is the antithesis of your ability to be creative and is what stops folks from attempting a creative act. Ken offers insight into the "I don't have a creative bone in my body," statement that so many make or "Whenever I try to be creative it turns out awful" or the inaccurate self- judgement in which so many new creatives paint themselves. Looking at the distinctions around the creative process is important, motivating, and enlightening.

The journey of a Creative – that off-road from the usual and mundane is my concern. This podcast is for those that feel they have the spark – this will be for those that think the Muse ignores them – this will be for the frustrated and self-critical – this will be for those aching to realize the language of their souls – for those that never seem to shine, or haven’t realized the richness that they feel is there – those joyous fountains, sorrowful wails, brilliant illuminations, deep emotive wellings, and lucid clarities, not translated and realized, alas, stay un-delivered to the world.
We will begin exploring the very starting point, even before there is a twinkle in the Creatives eye. We will explore the seed of artistry, the genesis of that good effort and human outlay.
Recognition of self as Creative
