Sedley Alley, the man who is believed to have killed her, was given a death sentence based solely on a confession that didn't line up; it was later redacted; he was executed in 2006; but, given the state's refusal to conduct DNA testing on 11 samples, you have to question whether her killer was actually brought to justice.

29. The Murders of Ashley Pond & Miranda Gaddis

Ashley Pond, 12, went to the bus stop every morning to get to school when she went missing one day in January 2002. Authorities initially classified her as a runaway, but after two weeks, they changed their minds. Miranda Gaddis, another girl who is a friend of Ashley Pond, goes missing in March 2002. Ashley reported unwanted and inappropriate behavior to her teacher, who reported it to CPS about a man named Ward Weaver, and nothing was done. Ward Weaver would go on TV and claim his innocence over a concrete slab where Ashley Pond was subsequently discovered. Ward was arrested and sentenced to life in prison in 2002. Ward Weaver Sr., the father was also convicted of double murder and has been suspected of 24 -26 murders. Francis Weaver, Ward Weaver's son has been in prison since 2014 for his involvement in a murder. This is an excellent example of "the apple does not fall far from the tree."

27. The Disapperance of the Millbrook Twins

27. The Disapperance of the Millbrook Twins

15 year old twins Jeanette and Dannette went missing on March 18, 1990 in Augusta, Georgia. The two went to their Godfather Ted’s house in Bethlehem, Georgia where the twins used to live, about 40 minutes away. They went to get money for their bus fare and that was the last time they were seen. A couple days before they went missing, they mentioned to their mother that a white van was following them home. From the beginning of the investigation, there was no investigation. Right away the twins were called runaways so they didn’t search for them because they thought they would be wasting time and they would run away again. In 2017, the case got more attention when the Fall Line Podcast covered the case. 32 years later, the twins are still missing and there has never been a full on investigation. There have been theories and other people, police could have questioned and they have not done so. While researching this case, a lot of people think there is a coverup within the police department or maybe discrimination. 23. What happened to Merrian Carver?

In August 2004, 40-year-old Merrian Carver disappeared on 7 day Royal Caribbean cruise from Seattle to Alaska. Her ship steward was the last person to see her, he reported her missing multiple times when his supervisor told him "forget about it and do your job." This case deals with NDAs, Private Investigators, a lot of negligence by the cruise line for not properly investigating the case. A lot of people believe it's suicide and a lot of people she was murdered or she fell overboard. But we are left with more questions to answer as to what happened to Merrian Carver.
