The   Good News (Romans) Part 8: Working By Bill Corley Original Air Date:  2021.02.21 EXTRA, EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! We have some Good News… In a world of fake news, bad news, slanted or   biased news, ever-changing opinions, laws and standards where can a person   find peace, hope and security? In the Good News of Jesus Christ! Now more than ever people all over the world   need to hear the message of hope and salvation in Christ. Our series, “Good News” is just that…God’s   standard and offer of eternity that can bring peace, joy and sanity to our   crazy world. Whether you are seeking or exploring Christianity, a new   Christian or have been walking with God for years, we will be studying the   scriptures, which never change, never waver and bring calm in the   storm. #Blessed Part 6: #BeTheLight, By Nick Quigley
#Blessed Part 6: #BeTheLight By Nick Quigley Original Air Date: 2020.12.13 Welcome to #Blessed… okay, what is a hashtag (#), and what is its purpose? “A word or phrase preceded by a hash sign (#) and used on social media websites and applications, especially Twitter, to identify messages on a specific topic.” As we come out of post-election weariness, it is more important than ever to focus on Christ and living in a way that pleases Him. So, our #Blessed series is designed to help us focus on topics that teach how to do that in everyday life! Living with peace, humility, thankfulness and a pure heart can be challenging, but Jesus shows us the way. The series begins November 7-8 and will continue until December 12-13. We hope you enjoy learning with us as we walk this path together! These messages and others are available to be viewed live on Saturday night at 5:30pm through Facebook or YouTube. You can watch the service on our church app or our website at www.crossroads-ridgecrest.org, or you can even pick up a DVD in the Resource Box, which is located in front of the office. Voter’s Guide | Choose Wisely, Part 2, By Bill Corley
Voter’s Guide | Choose Wisely, Part 2 By Bill Corley Original Air Date: 2020.11.01 Voter’s Guide Voting is a privilege that has been given to American citizens to maintain democracy and a civil government. We have been gifted with rights and opportunities most countries don’t offer, so to be allowed to have a voice that preserves those rights is an honor that should be taken very seriously. However, in our nation today, it has become confusing and divisive. Trying to wade through the rhetoric and make a wise choice is harder than ever - even more so for Christians. Christians live by a standard that calls us to vote using the Bible but knowing how to do that may be a challenge. As a church, it is our heart to encourage people to vote on the issues according to God’s word, so we have put together a Voter’s Guide to help walk you through this. Also included are numerous links and resources to help inform and educate while making every effort to be non-biased and simply present information. These messages and others are available to be viewed live on Saturday night at 5:30 pm through Facebook or YouTube. You can watch the service on our church app or website at www.crossroads-ridgecrest.org, or pick up a DVD in the Resource Box in front of the office, or stop by the office Wed – Fri 10 am – 4 pm. Promiseland Homefront magazines and craft projects are also available in the Resource Box. Weekend lessons are available online through Facebook and the website to keep our kids connected. If you have any questions, please contact us at (760) 384-3333 or text us at (760) 301-4840. We hope you find this helpful and that you will join us for a two-part series on voting Biblically October 24-25 and October 31-November 1. We encourage you to invite your friends and family to join you. The Chosen Part 7: Jesus, By Bill Corley
The Chosen Part 7: Jesus By Bill Corley Original Air Date: 2020.09.06 The Chosen… You may remember learning about Bible characters in Sunday school as a child. You may have never heard of them at all. Are they real people? What can we learn from them? From the beginning God has been communicating through His people to give the message of love, faithfulness, repentance, endurance, wisdom and humility. We see this message throughout the Bible in the historical documentation of men and women who were “The Chosen”. Some people were willing to be used by God in any situation…and some not so willing! Their stories and lives are not abstract, but timeless and applicable – today in our world, and in our own personal life. We hope you enjoy exploring their stories with us as we grow and learn together about a God of love and mercy – even in judgement. The Chosen begins the weekend of July 25th & 26th with the prophet Jeremiah. From there we learn from Jonah, Esther, Daniel, Paul, Peter and Jesus. We hope you enjoy this series and study guide. We encourage you to invite your friends and family to join you! Reconnect Part 7: Disposable, By Bill Corley
Reconnect Part 7: Disposable By Bill Corley Original Air Date: 2020.07.19 Reconnect! Relationships…God created us for relationship; God Himself is a relational God choosing to live and walk with His creation. He created man and woman for relationship in marriage with the ability to have children for a unique parenting relationship. He gave us brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins. We have friends, coworkers and neighbors to have relationships with. People and relationships are a gift - but why are they so hard??? When sin entered the world, not only did our relationship with God change, but our relationships with everyone else changed too. With sin came pride and selfishness, and even when we’re trying to do the right thing, we often make mistakes and hurt others, or they hurt us. So how do we do this? How can we enjoy the relationships God intended with Himself, our husband or wife, our children, friends, family and everyone else we connect with? How can we reconnect? We hope you will join us for the Reconnect series, where we will take a biblical approach to godly relationships in marriage, parenting, dating and friendships.  The Reconnect series focuses on relationships for ourselves and children, as well as how to love those who are hard to love or those who we need to establish safe boundaries with. At Crossroads we free offer resources and counseling for those who need a little extra help. If you would like to talk to someone for personal, marriage or family counseling, please call the office at (760) 384-3333 or text (760) 301-4840. Help Me! | I'm Depressed, Part 6, By Nick Quigley
Help Me! | I'm Depressed, Part 6 By Nick Quigley Original Air Date: 2020.05.31 Life is full of ups and downs. Recently the world has been united in a way we didn’t expect – the Coronavirus. As we experienced the lightning-speed pace of changes and new rules, self-isolation, social distancing, economic failure and shortage of medical and other supplies, it has been emotionally exhausting to say the least. Life in general presents challenges that leave us feeling sad, angry, fearful and lonely, but never more have we been tested and stretched emotionally than we are now. It is our hope and prayer that this series is timely for each of us, our families, and our friends, as we experience the roller coaster of emotions that this time in our world has brought. The good news about emotions is that they are normal! However, being able to have control over them rather than them controlling us is the challenge – but God…has a plan! His word offers hope, direction and practical application to conquer the overwhelming emotions we, or others we love, wrestle with. We hope you will join us in our “Help Me” series where we will learn to understand the nature and source of these emotions and how to live in a godly way in spite of them. At Crossroads we free offer resources and counseling for those who need a little extra help. If you would like to talk to someone about what you are experiencing, please call the office at (760) 384-3333 or text (760) 301-4840. Another great resource is RightNow Media (www.rightnowmedia.org), a streaming resource filled with Bible studies, teachings, videos, and great kid’s material – all available to you at no cost!  If you do not currently have a free account, please email Dionne Salmonds at dionne@ccc-rc.org, and she will provide you access.  A great series to begin with is “Overcoming Anxiety During COVID19” by David Pokluda (https://www.rightnowmedia.org/Content/Series/394369), which addresses anxiety about the uncontrollable, the economy, isolation, and when the church can’t meet. Help Me! | I'm Fragile, Part 1, By Bill Corley
Help Me! | I'm Fragile, Part 1 By Bill Corley Original Air Date: 2020.04.26 Life is full of ups and downs. Happy Easter!, By Bill Corley
Happy Easter! By Bill Corley Original Air Date: 2020.04.12 Happy Easter!!! We are in very uncertain times… Now more than ever, we need to know what IS certain – what do we know won’t change? No matter what is going on around us, God and His word are solid. He doesn’t change, His truth doesn’t change, His plan never changes. So, God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Hebrews 6:18-19 We need hope and wisdom for the future more than ever. The Good News is that the hope we have is based on the certainty of Christ’s work on the Cross for salvation when we choose to accept and submit to Him. We pray this week’s study leading to Easter will challenge you to examine your faith and what it is based on and encourage you to draw closer to Christ. The next week will be an “Ask It” message. This will be your opportunity to ask any questions you have about current times, God, the Bible, Easter and anything else you have always wondered about. You can simply submit your questions to ccc@ccc-rc.org , www.crossroads-ridgecrest.org, or text/call (760) 301-4840. We look forward to hearing from you! Line in the Sand | Grow Up (Palm Sunday), Part 7; By Nick Quigley
Line in the Sand | Grow Up (Palm Sunday), Part 7 By Nick Quigley Original Air Date: 2020.04.05 A line in the sand has been drawn _______________________________… We’ve seen it in movies, heard it in conversations and felt it in relationships. The idiom we are all so familiar with means: to set a limit beyond which someone cannot go without suffering serious consequences. It may be odd to think that Jesus would draw any lines in the sand, but He does! All through the gospels we see Him teaching the people and the religious leaders that there is a line they cannot cross in their belief and relationship with God, their behavior, how they handle the Bible, and how they live as Christians. As time goes by, there are more teachings, theories and philosophies, belief systems, and world views that have a tendency to erase and move the line Jesus drew further and further away from Him.  It has had very serious consequences in people’s lives, our world, and even inside the Church. We are excited to invite you to join us in this series “Line in the Sand” where we will explore some of the lines that Crossroads lives and functions by. It is important for every person to know and understand what their church believes and teaches beyond any given Sunday. We strive to be transparent to our church family and others, by sharing with you why we believe what we believe. From February 17 – April 5 we will cover the doctrinal statements and values of Crossroads and hope you will find it helpful in your understanding of Christ’s Church and Mission and how we strive to fulfill His commands while strengthening our relationships with each other. We hope you enjoy this series and study guide. We encourage you to invite your friends and family to join you! Jesus may be many things, but what we know is that He says of Himself that He is “the Way, the Truth and the Life, and no one can come to the Father except through Him.” John 14:6 To know Jesus is to know God – to know the Son is to know the Father as well. However, many have a hard time reconciling the two and accepting that there is one all-inclusive way to the Father. Everyone is invited and as we walk through the scripture over the next seven weeks discovering Jesus’ way, truth and life.  You may come to see how incredibly irresistible and relatable He is to everyone! We invite you to join us in the series, Jesus Is… We will explore together the irresistible compassion, love, and power of Jesus as He leads His disciples, teaches the masses, confronts hypocrisy, heals the sick, and loves the sinner.
