Welcome to Reading Corner Seven a podcast Original our district motto is Engage, Elevate and Empowers  A special family focused podcast has been developed and performed by The District 7 Parent Coordinators with support from Family Leadership Coordinator, Timothy Coleman. A special Thank You to Superintendent Rafael T. Alvarez for his support In today's episode, we will read the book, The Gift of nothing  By Patrick McDonnell.  In 2005, McDonnell embarked on a children’s book career. His first children’s book The Gift of Nothing quickly became a New York Times Best Seller. Art (2006), his second release, told the story of a boy named Art who makes art. His next release, Just Like Heaven (2006), heralding the joys of simple blessings, was hailed in a starred review by Kirkus as “a meditation on the true nature of miracles.” In 2007 McDonnell again returned to the New York Times Best Seller list with Hug Time, featuring a kitten named Jules who goes around the world hugging endangered species. Since then, he has produced two additional childrens books (South and Wag!) along with the 2012 Caldecott Honor winner Me…Jane, a biography about the young Jane Goodall, and The Monsters’ Monster. Thank you join in Reading Corner Seven a podcast original where we read The Gift of nothing  By Patrick McDonnell, We hope you enjoy the story about Mooch the cat desperately wants to find a gift for his friend Earl the dog, but Earl already has everything. "What do you give a guy who has everything?" Mooch wonders. The answer, of course, is nothing! This simple story features characters from Patrick McDonnell's popular comic strip, Mutts, and has the same depth, charm, and heart that he gives to his daily readers.
