3. Language Learning
Languages are part of every third level Arts degree but how do they benefit students, and why should they study them? In this episode, we discuss language learning in the Department of Arts. The B.A. programme currently offers Spanish, French, German, Italian and Irish and language options are also available as part of other courses in the Institute. Joining Dr Jenny O’Connor in studio are Dr. Chris Mulhall, Lecturer in French and Italian, and language students Kaitlin Byrne, Kaya Martin and Hannah Murphy.
2. Creativity
Creativity is vital to many of the programmes in the Department of Arts at WIT but what is it, and how is it nurtured? In this episode, host Dr Jenny O’Connor talks to three lecturers on creative programmes in the Department of Arts: Dr Hazel Farrell, the Programme Leader for the BA Hons in Music, Ross Lee, Lecturer on the BA (Hons) in Design (Visual Communication) and Dr Susan Connolly, Lecturer on the BA (Hons) in Visual Art. They discuss their own creative journeys, the value of doing what you love and what WIT can offer to students who have a creative passion.

In this episode, we focus on the BA Honours Arts degree (WD200 on the CAO!) and try to tackle some of the Frequently Asked Questions that prospective students tend to have when they’re deciding whether the course, and WIT, is right for them. The host of the podcast, Dr Jenny O’Connor (a lecturer on the BA Arts programme) is joined by the Head of Department of Arts, Dr. Seamus Dillon, and Erin McNamara-Cullen, the course leader for the BA Arts programme.
