Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: How Perspective Shapes Reality

Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: How Perspective Shapes Reality

In these final 4 workshops of this series, we’re exploring how Perspective Shapes Reality. We are closing this chapter with a greater understanding of who we are.

Our lives are not dissimilar to books. But what do you do when you finish a chapter? Do you go back and reread it because you loved it (or hated it) so much? Or is your natural inclination to read on? In your life, how often are you recreating the same chapters, just to see if anything has changed? How often do you honor closed chapters and move on to the next page of your book?

The end of the year and the end of Curious Bitches' first series is an opportunity to reflect on closed chapters and start new ones. Remember that you are both author and actor in your life’s story.

Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: Reconnecting to Mother Earth

About this Episode

Our last session was about Reconnecting to Self/Source. The flow info self re-connection naturally leads us into reconnecting with Mother Earth, which is our intention for this month. This can mean…

  • Moving away from “what should be” and into “what feels right”. So taking breaks, reading ourselves children’s books, changing routines or creating them, honoring our “no”
  • Staying present, expressing playfulness and gratitude.
  • Asking ourselves “why does this bother me”
  • Recognizing how small yet significant we are compared to Mother Earth and the elephants and trees, and the lakes and caves that she is home to.

Reconnecting to Mother Earth is also about finding gratitude that we are created with intention and that creation does not stop at birth. Every thought is an opportunity to explore and our lives are a sum of what we, in our ever connected ecosystem of Earthlings, have chosen to give life to.

A reminder that Yoga Nidra is paired with 3 writing workshops: soul, mind and body that we release each consecutive week. They help you dive deeper into the things you may learn about yourself today.

Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: Symptoms of Disconnect

Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: Symptoms of Disconnect

Episodes with music are only available on Spotify.

Hello Tribe! Thank you for being here for showing up for yourselves!

Today we’re guiding you through a 30 minute Yoga Nidra Intention Setting to recognize and honor Symptoms of Disconnect within ourselves. Our bodies and minds are always showing us how we’re doing, but those queues are an undervalued resource. We’re often taught that if something is wrong, we need to add this or subdue that, just deal with it or even ignore it! We forget that we also have the option to adjust or REMOVE that which isn't serving us. These things can be people, habits, lifestyles, perspectives, commitments. When we keep those things in our lives that aren’t serving us, we become less and less connected to ourselves.

You are the most important person in your life! Today we’re bringing awareness to emotions and physical symptoms that alert us to what does not resonate with us.

A reminder that Yoga Nidra is paired with 3 writing workshops: soul, mind and body that we release in our Tribe of Bitches each consecutive week. They help you answer the “why” of the things you may learn about yourself today. Learn more at https://www.curiousbitches.com/tribe

We recommend that you do this workshop right before bed because you will probably feel very sleepy after!

Make sure you have handy:

  • Pillow or bolster(s)
  • Blanket (you might get chilly)
  • Comfy area to lay down (you'll be in Shavasana the whole time, so you don't need lots of space)
  • Eye cover (a pillow case works)
  • Water

About this Yoga Nidra Session:

  • The definition of grounded is well-balanced and sensible. Groundedness is the opposite of disconnectedness and disconnected means to have a connection broken.
  • When we are in a place of balance, our senses are considered equally. This cultivates intuition and informs the heart’s decision. To prevent broken connections and that feeling of disconnect, we must actively listen to all communication channels. This is a practice that you will renter over and over again in pursuit of the feeling of groundedness or wholeness.
  • The Yoga Nidra practice works with opposites, like groundedness and disconnectedness to access hidden levels of consciousness.
  • Opposite work can include the exploration of  hot & cold temperatures, somatic feelings of patience and impatience and darkness in night and day light. Because the brain is actually unable to hold both experiences simultaneously, the level of consciousness we operate most frequently in, implodes in on itself dropping us into deeper levels of awareness.

Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: Reclaiming Your Power

Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: Reclaiming Your Power

This is Adrienne Hollie and I’m here with Jess Dugan, and we’re going to guide you through a 30 minute Yoga Nidra intention setting. We recommend that you do this right before bed because you will probably feel very sleepy after! Make sure you have handy:

  • Pillow
  • Blanket in case you get chilly
  • Comfy area to lay down
  • Eye cover (a pillow case works)

About this Episode

  • Our last session was about holding space for where we’re at and where we’ve given our power away.
  • This month we’re setting Intentions around Reclaiming Our Power and sovereignty.
  • This is about owning our desires and needs, stepping forward with confidence, forgiving and empowering ourselves to show up and speak up!
  • A reminder that Yoga Nidra is paired with 3 writing workshops: soul, mind and body that we release each consecutive week. They help you answer the “why” of the things you may learn about yourself today, so please utilize those in addition to Yoga Nidra.
  • Our prayer for you, is that you understand the depth of your power in both utilizing your own energy and releasing yourself from narratives, people, and commitments OOOO that were never yours or no longer serve you. For me, finding my power was and is rooted in learning who the eff I am. The question “who am I?” can feel impossible for my mind to answer but I noticed that my heart and soul always know, even if they can’t articulate it.
  • My journey to reclaiming my power started with giving my heart and soul space to show up in conversation or decision making. So instead of the rabbit hole of a question “who am I”, I asked myself a simpler question: “does this feel authentic?” Now, a note about that: sometimes, whether our answer is yes or no, we dig deeper. But I also want to remind you that you don’t have to dive into every decision you make. Sometimes your power lies in speaking your short and simple truth, and then moving right along with your day.

Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: Holding Space for Self

Yoga Nidra Intention Setting: Holding Space for Self

Hello Tribe! Thank you for being here for showing up for yourselves!

Adrienne Hollie and Jess Dugan, are guiding you through a 30 minute Yoga Nidra intention setting. We recommend that you do this right before bed because you will probably feel very sleepy after! Make sure you have handy:

  • Pillow
  • Blanket (you can get chilly)
  • Comfy area to lay down (we'll be in corpse pose the whole time, so you don't need lots of space)
  • Eye cover (a pillow case works)
  • Water

Today we’re setting Intentions around Holding Space for Ourselves. Last month was about recognizing how our body and mind communicate to us and sometimes we want to follow th3ese revelations with guilt or shame:

  • How did I get here
  • Why didn’t I notice sooner
  • Why do I feel this way
  • Why can’t I be more (blank). Or less (blank)

This month is all about saying YES! I have needs and YES! They’re valid!

Our prayer for you is that honoring your emotional needs becomes as obvious and guilt-free as knowing you need to sleep and eat every day. When we honor our needs without judgement, when we observe them openly, we teach ourselves that we are a safe space. That we are home.

A reminder that Yoga Nidra is paired with 3 writing workshops: soul, mind and body that we release each consecutive week. They help you answer the “why” of the things you may learn about yourself today, so please utilize those in addition to Yoga Nidra.

We leave you with this saying: you are not a human doing. You are a human being.
