Coming Home with Tammy Arlene
On this wonderful episode, I'm speaking with the lovely and talented Tammy Arlene, author of ... Coming Home (Welcome to Whisper Creek) Tammy Arlene, a past victim of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, is the ideal narrator for the characters in these stories – and a prime example of not only surviving - but thriving in a life of her own design. Although she does not have training as a therapist, she realizes that there are many stages involved in the healing process. The emotions and situations depicted in the stories are realistic, relatable and encouraging to women who are considering making life changes and escaping self-deprecating situations such as abuse and low self-esteem. Tammy acknowledges her faith in God as the turning point in creating a better life, overcoming degrading thoughts, and changing behaviors to craft the future God has designed for her. Although the desire to write novels was in her DNA from an early age, in January 2015, Tammy faced a challenge that she never expected. She faced the medical crisis of an abdominal aneurism—which nearly took her life and has resulted in multiple hospitalizations, procedures and touches on the shoulder by God. Proving herself resilient over the next three years, she pressed on with 60 + hour work weeks in her sales career, won awards and accolades while facing many days in the hospital, emotional struggles, and two close encounters with death. She realized, at that point, it was time to quit masking her pain by overachieving in her successful sales career and turn toward faith and fulfill her dream of becoming an author and speaker. As a result of her own experience, she has a burning desire to help women overcome self-doubt and see themselves in a new, more positive light. She is driven to succeed in her new God given career path. Tammy lives in Northern Arizona with her husband, mother and son. She is in the process of obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University, with an anticipated graduation date of November 2020. Warrior, Magician, Lover, King: A Guide To The Male Archetypes Updated For The 21st Century: A guide to men's archetypes, emotions, and the development of the mature masculine in the world today. Rod's book adds up to a route map which will help you understand exactly why you sometimes find life challenging and difficult as an adult. Of course, this is only part of the story - but it is an essential one, because before any emotional healing or personal development work can take place, we have to understand what went wrong in the first place. This kind of emotional healing work requires some courage, but the author shows us where we can find the people and places who can safely guide us as we take "the road less traveled": the path we need to follow to become who we were always meant to be, before the world got in the way. Choices with Connie Clendenan
On today's wonderful episode, I'm speaking with the lovely and talented Connie Clendenan, author of ... Choices: How to Improve Your Relationships and Life For 30 years, Connie was the Chief Executive Officer of Valley Teen Ranch, a non-profit, child-welfare organization based in Fresno, California. Since retiring, she has worked as a consultant for social service and probation agencies, as well as leading workshops and retreats, delivering keynote addresses, and training others to use the principles in this book. She is single and lives in Fresno. Healthy relationships begin with us. Before we can develop healthy relationships, we have to take an honest look at our choices, desires, words, actions, attitudes, and habits to identify areas for which we have to take responsibility. When we do that, we get so much more from our lives and relationships than we may have thought possible. As you read this book, there will be opportunities for you to do some self-examination, as well as to take a risk and solicit feedback from your closest friends and family members to compare your self-perceptions and the perceptions others have of you. I hope the concept presented in this book will prevent you from a journey of broken relationships, pain, and agony. When we are broken, What's Next? So, if you want to know more about How to Improve Your Relationships and Life, then stay tuned for this episode of the Daily Authors Podcast with Connie Clendenan ... Being Small (Isn't So Bad After All) with Lori Orlinsky
On today's awesome episode, I'm speaking with the lovely and talented  Lori Orlinsky, author of ... Being Small (Isn't So Bad After All) Lori is a 5' 1" (on a good day, with heels and big hair) writer, marketing director, and mom who lives in Chicago. She was inspired to tell this story after her own real-life experiences raising two little ladies. She wishes this story was around when she was growing up. Being small is the worst! No one ever picks me for their sports team and my feet hurt from standing on my tiptoes all the time. There can't be anything good about being small...right? Being Small is a picture book about a little girl who is scared to go to school because she's the shortest kid in the class. She talks about all of the reasons that being short is a challenge, but her mother presents to her funny and unique advantages that only she has because of her height, instilling self-confidence in her. This book is a must-read for any child who has ever fallen behind the curve on the growth chart.
