Jeff Heggie Daily Success Strategies Episode 066: Acres of Diamonds www.JeffHeggie.com Russell Conwell Parable - Acres of Diamonds There was once a wealthy man named Ali Hafed. One day a priest visited Ali and told him about diamonds. Ali heard all about the diamonds, how much they were worth, and went to his bed that night a poor man. He had not lost anything, but he was poor because he was discontent. Ali sold his farm, left his family, and traveled to Palestine and then to Europe searching for diamonds, which he didn’t find. His health and wealth failed him. Dejected, he cast himself into the sea. One day, the man who had purchased Ali’s farm found a curious sparkling stone in a stream that cut through his land. It was a diamond. Digging produced more diamonds – acres of diamonds, in fact. The point of the story is that we often dream of fortunes to be made elsewhere. We ought instead to be open to the opportunities that are around us. So how can you find your acres of diamonds in your own back yard? - Be open to the possibilities that are around you. Don’t overlook the value of things because you believe you already “know it” - Look at the familiar in a new way. Are you doing things regularly that you could do better by changing how you do it? - Learn what people want and then give it to them Are you one of those who looks for diamonds in faraway places? 065: ...Act Well Thy Part
Jeff Heggie Daily Success Strategies Podcast 065: Act Well Thy Part www.JeffHeggie.com What roles do you have in your life? Father, husband, mother, wife, son, daughter, boss, employee, coach… The list goes on and one for every one of us. How well are you doing in those roles? Today I talked about a story from Hyrum W. Smith’s book, “What Matters Most – The Power of Living Your Values.” Hyrum shared the following story: Let me return to my theatrical metaphor to recount the experience of David O. McKay, a great spiritual leader and teacher who was a source of inspiration to me in my formative years. In the early years of the twentieth century David McKay found himself in Stirling, Scotland, one of the ancient seats of the Scottish kings. He was far from home, working among people who did not care about the things he was trying to teach them. He was cold, hungry, and discouraged, ready to give up. Walking down an old street of the town, he looked up to see an inscription carved in stone above a doorway: “What e’er thou art, act well thy part.” More than six decades later, after he had become a major spiritual and moral leader and near the end of a long life of service, I heard this man speak of his experience in Scotland. He talked about the abrupt change in perspective that the inscription over the doorway had given him at a critical time in his life. He had never thought that he was filling a role in his life. Something deep inside him responded to the admonition of the inscription, and reading it proved to be a turning point. It inspired him to do his utmost to accomplish his work in Scotland, and it continued to inspire him through a lifetime of service to others. Believe - First break through the psychological barriers that hare holding you back - Bannister, Kipchoge, Kroc believed they could accomplish their dreams Barriers - Once you really identify what you want, identify the real and imagined barriers that are holding you back so you can figure out how to break through them - STOP BELIEVING YOUR OWN LIES Your Path - Once you have the belief, give yourself a path to follow to get you there - In May of 2017, Kipchoge came up just shy of the two-hour mark during Nike’s Breaking2 project, finishing with a time of 2:00:25. After missing the mark by less than half a minute, he created the path he needed to follow to accomplish the goal a little more than two years later. This included his training and preparation all the way through to the pace setters and water delivery during the run. 063: What Every Person Who Thinks They're Too Old Needs to Know About Their Dreams
www.JeffHeggie.com Jeff Heggie Daily Success Strategies Hey welcome Jeff Heggie Daily Success Strategies. Thanks for being with me today. Today. I want to talk about something that I hear quite often, and it's, especially when I talk to people that have been in their career or different things for awhile, and they talk about the things they wish they would have done in their lives. They wish they would have started a business. They wished they would have taken a chance. They wished they would have done all these things, but now they've been in a certain role or they're at a certain age that they don't think they can do it anymore. And the example I always give them is Colonel Sanders with Kentucky Fried Chicken. He started that when he was 61 years old and look what it is now. And so what's holding you back from starting something, age is just a number and it doesn't mean because you're a certain age you're locked in and you can't do the things that you really want to and really desire to do. You can still do those. I got something from one of my coaches today, someone that coaches me on a regular basis and I was reading it. And that's why I wanted to talk about it today because there's a number of people on his list that actually expanded my how I looked at this. So I'm going to read you what he sent me. Ray Kroc opened his first McDonald's at age 52. Rodney Dangerfield was 46 when he got his break. Martha Stewart was over 50 before she started her brand. Stan Lee of Marvel comics was 42 when he started. Henry Ford was 41 When he founded Ford motor company, Melissa McCarthy was 41 when her wheels started turning Robert Noyce was also 41 when he started Intel. Morgan Freeman was 52 when he got his first big break, a Joy Behar was 55. When she started The View. Chaleo Yoovidhya was 61 When he started Red Bull. Judy Dench wasn't famous until 61. Colonel Sanders was 61 when he started Kentucky fried chicken. So I want you to think about that and think about how successful those people have become and the things they've achieved and when they started. So if you're looking at yourself and thinking, I wish I would've done that, I wish I could've been this. I wish I could've been that, but I can't now because I'm 40, I'm 50, I'm 60 I'm 70. I don't care how old you are. There's still time. 2020 is the year to do it. If there's ever been a time that you want to reset, that you want to take advantage of opportunities. Now's the time to do it. This is the year that has thrown everything into a loop. And it's given you the opportunity that if you want to do something now is the perfect time to do it. 062: Let's Do the Impossible
www.JeffHeggie.com Jeff Heggie Daily Success Strategies Episode 062: Let’s Do the Impossible In October, 2019 I wrote an article called Whatever the Mind Can Conceive and Believe, It Can Achieve. I wrote about Roger Bannister breaking the 4-minute-mile in 1954. I wrote about Eliud Kipchoge breaking the 2-hour barrier in the marathon on October 12, 2019. In the article I went on to talk about the mental barriers we have in achieving many of our dreams, but once those barriers are broken down and we realize it is possible, we can do what we previously thought to be impossible. Growing up I rode motorbikes a lot. I lived on a farm and we had great places all around to dirt bike. We had one area that was my favorite jump, where I’d feel like Evil Knievel. But I don’t think at any moment when I was flying over those jumps did the thought of doing a back flip on my motorbike ever cross my mind. So the first time I saw on TV someone on a motorbike successfully complete a backflip, I was blown away. In 2002 Caleb Wyatt was the first person to successfully land a backflip on dirt. In 2006 Travis Pastrona successfully completed a double backflip! Then in 2015, Josh Sheehan pushed it further and completed a triple flip! When I was a young boy riding through my dad’s pasture on my dirt bike, if someone told me they were going to complete a backflip on their dirt bike, I’m pretty confident I would tell them it was impossible. In 2014 Jasyn Roney became the youngest person, at the age of 10, to successfully complete a backflip on a motorbike. The interesting thing about this is that there was never a time in this young man’s life that doing a backflip on a motorbike wasn’t a reality. Caleb Wyatt first did it before Jasyn was born. Something that was considered impossible just a couple years before Jasyn was born was just a matter of fact when he started riding and it wasn’t a question to him of “if,” it was “when.” What is holding you back? Your RAS helps you to filter out distractions and focus on things that are important to you. It’s the system that makes you recognize someone wearing the same new dress that you just bought. It’s what makes you recognize when you see other people driving the same car that you just bought when you had never seen that car around before. Whenever you start a new task and you ‘begin with the end in mind,’ your RAS can help you to identify the things that will help you to accomplish that task because it knows that it’s something important to you. For all my friends and family back home, Happy Canada Day! I hope you have a great day celebrating. Today I want to talk about the little things that matter. I remember hearing a story from Dieter F. Uchtdorf that I want to share In 1979 a large passenger jet with 257 people on board left New Zealand for a sightseeing flight to Antarctica and back. Unknown to the pilots, however, someone had modified the flight coordinates by a mere two degrees. This error placed the aircraft 28 miles to the east of where the pilots assumed they were. As they approached Antarctica, the pilots descended to a lower altitude to give the passengers a better look at the landscape. Although both were experienced pilots, neither had made this particular flight before, and they had no way of knowing that the incorrect coordinates had placed them directly in the path of Mount Erebus, an active volcano that rises from the frozen landscape to a height of more than 12,000 feet. As the pilots flew onward, the white of the snow and ice covering the volcano blended with the white of the clouds above, making it appear as though they were flying over flat ground. By the time the instruments sounded the warning that the ground was rising fast toward them, it was too late. The airplane crashed into the side of the volcano, killing everyone on board. It was a terrible tragedy brought on by a minor error —a matter of only a few degrees. In the book, TITAN, The Life of John D Rockefeller. One of the main things I remember from that book is his advice, “Pay Attention to the Small Things.” It’s the little things that make a difference What are the little things that you could be doing, that may seem insignificant, but if you did them on a regular basis their impact would compound and have a major impact on your life. It’s the little things that are easy to do, but they're easy not to do as well. As business owners and entrepreneurs, it’s tough. There are so many decisions that are being made that we can’t control. Decisions that impact our businesses, our lives, our families, our employees, and our future. Many are looking for someone to blame. But that isn’t going to change things. You have to focus on the things that you can control. The things that you can impact. I’m not saying that you have to just sit back and take everything that’s thrown at you, but don’t spend your energy on things that you can’t change. For the beginning of this pandemic I’ve talked about the opportunities that will present themselves for those who are looking for them. Some people have found some of those opportunities. Keep searching, there are more. I pray this all comes to an end soon and entrepreneurs and business owners can get the country running again. In the meantime, support one another. Be there for those in need.

Historian Will Durant said, “I think the ability of the average man could be doubled if it were demanded.” Your potential is shaped by what’s around you. Every idea you have. Who you become and what you do are impacted by what you’ve been exposed to. Thomas S. Monson said, “Decisions determine your destiny.” This is true, but what we expose ourselves to has a direct impact on the decisions we are capable of making. Your decisions, your life, is a product of your thoughts. Those thoughts come from the people you are around, your environment, the books you read, the podcasts you listen to, your experiences, and more. When you take control of your environment and dictate those things, you will have greater control over your thoughts and choices. Durant said, “Most people are living small, not because they lack the inherent talent, but because their situation isn’t demanding more of them. They haven’t placed themselves in a position requiring them to become more than they currently are.” Benjamin Hardy said, “You are responsible for shaping and choosing the environment that will ultimately shape the person you become and the destiny you have.” How are you expanding your environment? I’ve talked about the questions you should be asking yourself each morning. One of them is, “What’s one thing that I could do today that is outside of my comfort zone?” When you are stepping out of your comfort zone on a daily basis, you build confidence and you expand your experiences and your potential grows. Rosa Parks said, “When ones mind is made up, the fear diminishes “  Look at the things that you know you need to be working on to achieve your big goals but you've been putting off.   Make a commitment to do those things. 050: This Is Water
www.JeffHeggie.com 050: Jeff Heggie’s Daily Success Strategies – This Is Water There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says “Morning, boys. How’s the water?” And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes “What the hell is water?” - David Foster Wallace We are often oblivious to what is around us, what’s directly in front of our face. In a world where so much has happened in recent months I believe it’s more important than ever to try to be more aware of what is happening, or even what possibly may have happened. We are quick to judge but often don’t know anything about the person we are judging. The “Man on the Subway” story from Stephen Covey shows us how we can have a complete paradigm shift once we hear a person’s story. “I remember a mini-paradigm shift I experienced one Sunday morning on a subway in New York. People were sitting quietly – some reading newspapers, some lost in thought, some resting with their eyes closed. It was a calm, peaceful scene. Then suddenly, a man and his children entered the subway car. The children were so loud and rambunctious that instantly the whole climate changed. The man sat down next to me and closed his eyes, apparently oblivious to the situation. The children were yelling back and forth, throwing things, even grabbing people’s papers. It was very disturbing. And yet, the man sitting next to me did nothing. It was difficult not to feel irritated. I could not believe that he could be so insensitive as to let his children run wild like that and do nothing about it, taking no responsibility at all. It was easy to see that everyone else on the subway felt irritated, too. So finally, with what I felt like was unusual patience and restraint, I turned to him and said, “Sir, your children are really disturbing a lot of people. I wonder if you couldn’t control them a little more?” The man lifted his gaze as if to come to a consciousness of the situation for the first time and said softly, “Oh, you’re right. I guess I should do something about it. We just came from the hospital where their mother died about an hour ago. I don’t know what do think, and I guess they don’t know who to handle it either.” Can you imagine what I felt at that moment? My paradigm shifted. Suddenly I saw things differently, and because I saw differently, I thought differently, I felt differently, I behaved differently. My irritation vanished. I didn’t have to worry about controlling my attitude or my behavior; my heart was filled with the man’s pain. Feelings of sympathy and compassion flowed freely. “Your wife just died? Oh I’m so sorry! 047: Working Towards a Bigger Goal
www.JeffHeggie.com   Jeff Heggie's Daily Success Strategies   On Friday I asked you to give some service to someone over the weekend without expecting anything in return. Did you do it?   Every Monday we talk about the things you will need to accomplish this week so that on Friday you can say it was a successful week. What are those things? Block time so you can plan to get them done.  Are you accomplishing these things each week so that you can say you've had a successful week? Is each week getting you closer to achieving your bigger goal? What is your bigger goal? 037 I'm White... I Don't Get It
I’m white I don’t get it I might say I do I know how terrible racism is, and I understand that. You might say the same thing. But we don’t really get it. If I go for a walk through my neighborhood, people aren’t looking at me through their windows wondering what I’m doing and what my intentions are. I’ve been pulled over, and as the police officer approached my window I was digging through my console looking for my insurance without even thinking twice about it. I’ve walked down a dark street with a hood on and my face covered to keep warm. I didn’t have to think about it I do a lot of things, a lot of things that I’m not even aware of, that I wouldn’t do if I were black, because I don’t get it. Because I don’t have to live it. I’m white, I’ll never fully “get it” But the more we educate ourselves. The more we do our part to understand. The more we are willing to speak out about racism and the things in this world that are wrong. The more we will be able to help. I might “get it” a little more than a lot of white people. I knew one day we would have to have the conversations. I was hoping he would be older. Yesterday we explained to our son how some people will look at him different, and treat him different because he is black. I’m scared I’m scared that one day this beautiful, happy, kind boy that is filled with so much love, could have something bad happen to him… Because he is black He’s the most amazing kid. Everyone that knows him LOVES him. But there are going to be times in his life that someone doesn’t see that beautiful, loving boy. They just see the black kid and all the stereotypes that live in their head. Nelson Mandela said, No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than it’s opposite. “I can’t end racism. I can’t change what happened to George Floyd. I don’t even know a black person, there’s nothing I can do.” If that’s what you’re telling yourself, you are wrong. We are all in this. Your voice matters Your silence hurts “If people can learn to hate, they can be taught to love” Change will only come from a place of love and it starts inside each and every one of us.

036 Turn Your Fear Into Fuel

Starting with $5,000 of her own savings she has become the first self-made woman billionaire that didn’t get any of her wealth from a spouse or inheritance. As the story goes, she cut the bottoms out of her pantyhose, created Spanx and became a billionaire. But there’s always more to the story. When Sara grew up she wanted to be a lawyer, like her father. But after failing the LSAT miserably, twice, she knew that law was not in her future. As she tells the story, she took the next logical step. She travelled to Disney World to try out to be Goofy! But to be Goofy, you need to be 5’8” and she’s only 5’6”, which was the perfect size for a Chipmunk. After three months as a Chipmunk, she took a new job selling fax machines door to door. This became her life for the next seven years in Clearwater, Florida. Anyone who has had to do any cold-calling knows how difficult it is, but she stuck with it for a long time. One day, she was so upset with her life, she pulled over to the side of the road and said to herself, “I’m in the wrong movie! Call the director. Cut! This is not my life.” That night she made a list of her strengths and weaknesses in her journal. She asked herself what she was good at and and how that could help her to create a better life. She identified sales as one of her biggest strengths and committed to herself that night, “I’m going to invent something that I can sell to millions of people that will make them feel good.” She didn’t have any idea what it was at the time, but she continued to ask herself, “What can I invent and sell?” She said out-loud, “Universe, give me the idea and I won’t squander it.” Two years later she was still selling fax machines and asking herself, “What can I invent and sell?" One evening as she was getting ready for a party, she cut the feet out of her control top pantyhose to go to a party. That night when she got home she thought, “This might be my idea!” Sara asked persistently with the expectation of receiving an answer. So when the opportunity presented itself, she saw it.  She said, “Because I had asked myself the question and set my intention two years prior, that’s the reason I am where I am rather than the millions of other women who had been cutting the feet out of their pantyhose to solve the same undergarment issue.” She had been spending two years questioning, manifesting, visualizing and setting intentions. There are many things we can learn from Sara’s story. But what I want to discuss is summed up well in The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale when he says, “To change your circumstances, first start thinking differently.” It didn’t happen immediately, but when Sara started to ask herself specific questions, with the expectation of receiving her answers, she started things in motion that changed her life. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “A man is what he thinks about all day long.” I share this story because I think Sara is amazing. Journaling 4. Block Time 5. Noise Cancelling Earphones Journaling A new practice that I started during quarantine was daily journaling. I’ve always been one who keeps a personal journal, but this is a different kind of journaling. I’ve heard Brendon Burchard, Darren Hardy, Michael Hyatt, and others all talk about daily journaling and the benefits to your productivity. I decided to give it a try with Brendon Burchard’s High Performance Planner. This is a practice that I quickly grew to love and appreciate. The process helps me to be more intentional with my weekly and daily plans. It’s also an incredible tool for me to start and end the day with because it helps me to be in the right mindset. First thing in the morning I sit down and plan my day. I determine my top goals and priorities and figure out the “must-do” tasks for the day. But my favorite part is going through a list of ten questions every day and my answers set me up for a powerful day. They are questions such as: One      thing I can get excited about today is... A      situation that might stress me out or trip me up today could be… and the      way that my best self would heal with that is... One      thing I could do today that is a little outside of my comfort zone is to      (try, ask for, express something, take a big step, etc.) ... I would      know that today was a great success if at the end of the day I did, said,      or felt this... I end the day the same way it began. I go through a list of questions and reflect on my day. Questions such as: A      moment that I really appreciate today was... Something      I realized or learned today was... I could      have made today even better if I... However you set yourself up, if you will take the time every single morning to intentionally plan your day, and then every single evening to reflect on your day, your productivity and results will soar. If you are skeptical, I challenge you to try it for a month. If at the end of the month you don’t see the benefit, stop. But by then, I know that you have seen an amazing impact on your life. Get Up Early Getting an early start on the day has always been a habit that has helped me with my productivity. Back in my days as a bank manager, my most productive time was early, when I was the only one in the office. When I was there early, I was able to focus on what needed to get done without having any distractions. Once my staff arrived and the doors opened, I never had the opportunity to stay laser focused on a single task. For years I’ve been getting up early and going to the gym to workout. Before quarantine, I would be up at 4AM and then be home in time to help get the kids ready and off to school. When we went into quarantine, they gyms were closed and the kids were not leaving the house to go to school.  The easiest thing to do would be to enjoy those extra hours and get some quality sleep! But to stay productive during quarantine, I made the decision to keep an early morning routine. Since I was developing my Marketing Accelerated course, this was often a necessity. Most of the video made for the modules was done very early in the morning so that I could have it completed before anyone else in the house was awake. Like at the bank, the early mornings also gave me time to get laser focused on a project without having any distractions. The early mornings also included exercising. The best part has been doing it as a family. We all started a running routine together each morning. Exercise It doesn’t matter the time of day you do it, but exercise should be part of your routine. Everyone is different and you should consult your doctor before starting an exercise program, but your overall success and productivity will improve if you implement the right exercise program into your life. I’m not going to go into all of the details, but it has been proven that exercise will improve your health, focus, anxiety, stamina and a lot of different areas of your life. As I mentioned, my exercise routine was interrupted when our gym got shut down because of quarantine, but there

030 The Multi-Task Myth

This morning I received a text message from my mom. It said, "Just read this, do you agree?" Attached was a photo of an article that said, "truly the brain is wired to do only one thing at a time. When you feel like you are doing two things at once, you’re actually doing two individual things in rapid succession. Multi-tasking doesn’t expand the brain’s capacity to accomplish both; it simply increases the amount of mental effort it must put out. The result is that we simply reduce the attention we give to each of the tasks.” In short, YES I agree... I talk about my thoughts around this issue and also point out some of the negative things that come from trying to multi-task, such as: 1. Lower productivity on both tasks 2. Stops you from getting into a state of flow a. U of California Irvine study says that when we are distracted, it takes 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back on task 3. UCLA Study – impacts short term memory 4. Leads to increased anxiety 5. Inhibits creative thinking How do we solve this? 022 Lessons Learned From A Blind Dog

My parents raise lab dogs and have some beautiful dogs. They have one dog named Ronnie that is blind. Assuming that a blind dog on a farm just sits next to his dog house all day long wondering what are the strange sounds around him are was wrong. In my message I explain how Ronnie goes with the other dogs every day as my dad takes them for runs for exercise.  There are so many lessons that can be learned from this dog, but the one that I focus on today is the fact that Ronnie has every reason to give up on life and just sit next to his doghouse and do nothing. But he chooses, notice I use the work chooses and not forced. He chooses to do what brings him joy and run every day with the other dogs.

www.JeffHeggie.com www.JeffHeggieCoaching.com Day 14: Daily Success Strategies from Jeff Heggie   Yesterday we talked about the importance of blocking your time so you can be uninterrupted and have time to focus on your important projects. This is especially important right now during the COVID-19/Coronavirus Pandemic when many are working at home with their entire families in the house with them. You need to train yourself and others around you to respect and use that time with a purpose. This is whether you're at home working or at your office, it's all the same.  Today we expand on this to go into the planning process. The process I outline will 100% make a difference in your life and the results you produce. But only if you do it and you're full-in. You have to make it a daily, weekly and monthly habit. You can't just dabble. Listen to this episode and let me challenge you to try it for a month. I guarantee results! I guarantee you'll see the benefit if you buy-in 100%. After a month, if you don't want to continue, that is fine. But I'm confident that if you do it for a month, you will see more clarity, organization, productivity and results and you'll want to keep going with this practice.   Give it a try and let me know. 013 Block and Schedule Your Time For Productivity
www.JeffHeggie.com www.JeffHeggieCoaching.com We are in challenging times with the Coronavirus Pandemic and things are not as we are use to. But what we need to realize is that we haven't been put in this situation for the past few days or the past few weeks, we are going on months now. We must ensure that we have things in place so we can continue to be productive. Everything is out of wack with kids home, they need help with their school work, they need help with the cereal they just spilled all over the floor (yes, speaking from experience), etc. But we need to train ourselves, we need to train our families and all those we are interacting with. Tony Robbins says if something is not scheduled, it's not real. If you want to be your most productive, you need to schedule your projects and the things you are working on. Block out that time and make sure there will be no interruptions during that time. Then put your head down and get to work. Focus only on that project or task and once that time period is up you can deal with whatever you have to. But discipline yourself to block time for yourself and focus on one project at a time. We are home in quarantine dealing with this pandemic and things aren't normal, so we hear a lot of people using that as an excuse. But this isn't just for when we are working at home and our family is interrupting us. It's no different when you're in your office and you get distracted and spend 30 minutes on social media that you hadn't planned or scheduled. Today during the Coronavirus Pandemic, blocking your time will work and make you more productive. But when we emerge from this into our new normal, keep the habit because to be your most productive you'll need to keep doing the same thing. You'll still have distractions, they'll just be different ones!

011 Focus, Clarity and Creating Your Best Future Self
www.JeffHeggie.com www.JeffHeggieCoaching.com It's Monday! Time to start another fantastic and exciting week. Yes, we are still in the middle of the COVID-19/Coronavirus Pandemic, but there are still so many good things happening. There are still so many opportunities. Plus, as we put our focus in the right places, we will be able to identify so many incredible opportunities as we more on to the next phase of our lives. In this episode I talk about setting up your week for success, plus I talk more about focus and the things that we need to dedicate our energy to. I talked about the importance of putting a lot of your focus on the future self you want to become. I added in a quote from Brendon Burchard that I read last night that I feel fits perfectly: "Be more intentional about who you want to become. Have vision beyond your current circumstances. Imagine your best future self, and start acting like that person today." I had a conversation today in the comments on a post I had made on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/jeffheggiecoaching/) that I didn't include in my message today but I also feel it's a good fit to this conversation. By coincidence, the post I made was another quote from Brendon Burchard, "People spend more time looking at other people's social media feed than they do looking at their own goals." The conversation was about goals. A tool that I use and am looking at right at this moment is a Vision Board. Once you figure out what your goals are (use the Momentum Training at www.JeffHeggie.com to figure out your goals) put them in photo form on something you can post somewhere that you can see it multiple times per day and keep those goals top of mind. 010 Focus & Gratitude
www.JeffHeggie.com www.JeffHeggieCoaching.com It's Friday, where are you with your weekly goals? Have you accomplished everything that you set out to do on Monday? If not, pull all of your focus and effort into those things and get them done and finish the week on a win!  In this video I also talk about Gratitude Journals. Spend five minutes each day writing in a Gratitude Journal. Just start writing and list EVERYTHING that you can think of that you are grateful for. Do this every single day. Some days it wont seem like much and it may be the exact same thing you wrote about the day before, and other days it might be deep and really meaningful. But the important thing is that you are doing it and you are recognizing the blessing you have in your life every single day. Even when things are not going well, when you are having a bad day, there are so many things that you can be grateful for. When you start to recognize these blessings in your life every single day, you will have a shift in your mindset and realize how much life has given you.  The second gratitude journal I talk about in today's video is one that you write in for someone else. Again, every single day, write in a gratitude journal about why you are grateful for someone else. Not someone different each day, do this for the same person for at least a month, but I suggest doing it for longer than that. Just like when you write in a gratitude journal for yourself, as you do this you will start to recognize all the great things this person does and all the blessings they bring into your life. Not only that, you'll start to look for things they do that you can be grateful for. This is so different than what we see in many relationships, where they are constantly looking for things their significant other is doing wrong. Don't tell the person you are doing this. At the end of the month, or however long you do it, give this journal to them. Mosiah took over his father's kingdom and was a servant leader because of the lessons he learned form his father.  Today, as we are going through COVID-19/Coronavirus Pandemic I want you to be aware of the fact that you are a role model for someone and they are watching how you handle things during tough times. It might be a child, a spouse, an employee or someone else but they are watching you and learning from the things you are doing. Be a good example. Be a great role model. Stay positive and look for opportunities. 007 What's Important To You?
www.JeffHeggie.com www.JeffHeggieCoaching.com Day 7 Success Strategies during the COVID-19 / Coronavirus Pandemic   I put together my FREE Momentum Training (available on www.JeffHeggie.com) to help people figure out their direction and the things they need to do to make the most out of what is going on with this Coronavirus Pandemic and the quarantine.   Today in my message I talk about adapting to the things you are dealing with so that you can still make the things happen that are most important to you.   My son is going to be a senior next year and spring football was something he's been really excited about because it was an opportunity to get a lot of recruiting coaches to notice him. My daughter is going to be playing college basketball next fall and needs to be at the top of her game and in great physical shape. Well, this quarantine isn't doing either of them any favors with those goals. But they are making the best with what they have and when you watch the video you'll see how they've adapted and can workout here at home rather than just throw up their hands and say they have to wait until this is all over.  This goes far beyond fitness, football or basketball. What are the most important things to you right now? What has been delayed and you're waiting for this pandemic to end so you can get back on track? Don't wait! Figure it out and get working on them. It's not idea and you might now be able to go about it the same way you've always visioned. But make it happen. 006 Questions & Self-Talk
www.JeffHeggie.com  www.JeffHeggieCoaching.com   Welcome back. I hope you all had a good weekend and you’re starting this week off great! Today I want to talk about questions. The questions you’re constantly asking yourself. Your self talk. If you pay closer attention to your self talk, you’ll realize that a lot of it is in the form of questions. So if we are wanting to change the quality of our lives, we should look to change the habitual questions we ask ourselves. I remember a long time ago, one of the first audio programs I ever purchased was from Mark Victor Hansen. In it, he said that the size of our question determines the size of our answer. So if we are looking for bigger or better results, you need to ask yourself better questions.  Successful people constantly ask better questions and therefore get better answers. Empowering answers that help them to know exactly what to do in different situations.   As as you start to pay attention to the questions you ask yourself, you’ll start to realize the impact they are having on your life. The quickest way to change your focus is simply to ask yourself new questions. So when you’re more aware of the questions you’re asking yourself you can have a quick impact on the things you do and the attitude you have. Questions immediately change what we’re focusing on and therefore how we feel.   This week, I want you to focus on the questions you find you’re asking yourself. As you’re more aware of this, you’ll realize when you’re bringing negativity into your mind. 003 Staying Connected & Knowing Your 'WHY'

Thanks for joining again or if this is your first time, welcome to our success strategies is something I started just kind of to talk about different things we can be doing to make sure that we're staying productive and getting things done while we're facing this coronavirus pandemic, and today what I want to talk about are a couple of different things. One is as we're in quarantine, or social distancing, whatever you're having to do right now, how important it is to still stay connected, staying connected with your team, with your employees, with those that you work with, but also with friends and family and different stuff like that. But how, how do you do that when you're in quarantine? One, pick up the phone, text, whatever you want to do. Use a Zoom call. There's a lot of ways we can still stay connected. Speaker 1: (00:47) You know, yesterday was my wife's birthday and we're in quarantine and how do you throw a surprise birthday party for someone when you're in quarantine? We had her out in our front yard eating, eating cake and celebrating her birthday. And we had arranged to have a lot of friends and neighbors just drive by and come say hello, honk, rolled down their windows, wish her happy birthday, that sort of thing. So there's a lot of ways that you can still stay connected with people and I think it's really important to make sure that you're doing that for yourself, for others and especially for your team. So that'd be the first thing I want to talk about. The other thing was, uh, the topic of knowing your why Simon Sinek. Uh, you know, I love how he's taught that. That's something, that's how I first came to know who he was when he talks about knowing your why. Speaker 1: (01:35) He says, once you discover your why, you're better able to align your beliefs with every choice and action that you take in order to do greater things and get more from fulfillment out of the things that you do. Um, he talks about a lot about it with companies, but on a personal level too, you know, you've got to know what your why is as you're making choices and doing different things. People, the way he said it with companies is people don't want to buy what you do. They want to buy why you do it. And so really knowing what your why is an important thing. And I think a lot of people believe that they know what their why is, but they don't know it on a deeper level. And the reason I got thinking about this was for a couple of reasons. Um, I wrote an article in my blog on August 1st of 2019 and it was called seven levels deep.
