Radio Life Hike: Faith Conversations from the Trail

Bonus: On the Trail... East towards town...

S1/E3  “Waiting on a Trial…”  In this episode, Pastor Dan talks about the challenges our communities are about to face with the impending trial that resulted from the death of George Floyd this past summer.  With so many people suffering, and so much concern about social reactions to the results of the trial, regardless of the outcome, he talks about some simple actions everyone can take to make a very challenging situation, a little better, and a little safer. His message is built on the idea that if we intentionally "care about" people, before we try to "care for" them, our care and support efforts for those in need will be significantly better. A follow-up "Debrief" episode, a conversation with Pastor Dan and Pastor Matt will be aired later this week as they share their reflections on the message as well.

As I (Pr. Dan) explore my process for creating something to preach, something of value, and worth the investment of a listener's time... I started looking to those who preach routinely, as their vocation. Since my "pulpit" preaching has been very infrequent and limited to random situations that required me to preach, listening to others describe their creative process has been very enlightening. Today you will hear the process used by my cohost, Pastor Matt.

As we continue our exploration of the podcasting world, today we add our first "Bonus Episode".  We intend each of these episodes to be a behind the scenes look at either Pastor Dan's personal faith life journey, or Pastor Matt's.  We will also be doing Bonus Episodes specifically on the journey our Radio Life Hike initiative, describing our experiences and perspectives on the process of developing and producing Radio Life Hike.

In today's Midweek Debrief (a review and debrief of the most recent Monday Morning Preach) of "Faith Beliefs and Faith Practices"  Pastor Dan shares some new thoughts on the importance of "learning" and understanding "how we learn." 

We now set off on our Radio Life Hike journey, with our first full episode after some exploratory "Trailer" hikes. In this episode we'll be discussing the importance of taking a close look at our personal faith beliefs... as well as at our faith practices.  And as we do that, we'll consider how we can reform and affirm our faith lives in order to keep what is healthy for us, and change what is unhealthy.

In todays episode, Pastor Dan talks about this Series of four trailers that introduced a bit about the ministry, its people and its foundational message content... "Exploring Life With God". He also talked about lessons learned through this "Soft Opening" of Radio Life Hike. 

He closes the message with some more "About" information and who the "We" is, that he is always referencing.
