• On Sunday afternoon the USC Trojans got a major recruiting flip as they got 2025 5★ DL Justus Terry to switch his commitment to the Trojans, from the Georgia Bulldogs. Terry is ranked the #2 DL at the position & #8 overall recruit in the class.

• Hours later the Trojans also landed 2025 5★ EDGE Isaiah Gibson from Warner Robbins, Georgia. Gibson is ranked the 8th-best EDGE & 76th overall player and had 17 sacks with 55 QB hits last fall as a junior.

• RB Trevor Etienne was charged with DUI & reckless driving early Sunday morning.

• The SEC elected to stay with an eight-game conference schedule for 2025 & their first season since 1991 with no divisions

• Clemson files suit against ACC to leave the conference

• Alabama lands a commitment from 2025 4★ Darrell Johnson who is ranked as the 5th best LB and 48th player overall.

• Notre Dame College, a DII school in Ohio, is shutting down its football program. 90+ players have entered the transfer portal

• Federal judge grants injunction against the NCAA citing antitrust laws

• SEC pushing to move the early signing period up to the start of December and the dead period the rest of the month in an attempt to avoid overlap with the transfer portal

• NFL Combine - no JerZhan Newton DT Illinois or CB Cooper DeJean Iowa

• 5-7 College Football Playoff Model approved (Big 10 and SEC tried to get 8 auto bids just for themselves)

• The CFP committee is also discussing a potential 14-team bracket for 26’ and beyond

• ESPN & CFP agree on a 6-year extension worth $7.8B

• Tennessee and Virginia in legal battle with NCAA over NIL

• UCLA hired Deshaun Foster as their new Head Coach

• Former Alabama HC Nick Saban expected to be a part of college gameday

• Texas to approve contract extension to HC Steve Sarkisian thru the 2030 season. The extension includes $100,000 annual raises that will push Sarkisian's guaranteed salary to $10.9 million by the final year. He also gets a one-time $300,000 bonus payment and 20 hours of personal use every year on the school's private plane. Sarkisian is eligible to earn more than $1.5 million in bonuses if the Longhorns win a national championship. His original contract called for him to get paid $5.8 million in 2024. According to the regents' agenda, the raises are a 78% overall increase in Sarkisian's guaranteed compensation.

• Michigan SAF Keon Sabb has entered the transfer portal and already has a slew of offers, including Tennessee, Georgia, Oregon, Oklahoma, Colorado, & Penn St

• Penn State is moving LB Abdul Carter to Defensive End/Edge

• Iowa Hawkeyes LB Jay Higgins wraps up the tackle title for the 23’ season with a 16 tackles 14 solo performance vs Tennessee in the Citrus Bowl

• Alabama HC Nick Saban retires with a career record of 292-71-1 and 7 National Championships (Six - Alabama / 1 LSU). His record at Alabama was 201-29 with a 117-18 in the SEC.

• Since Saban’s retirement 27 players have entered the portal, including superstar SAF Caleb Downs, who has since transferred to Ohio State. They have also taken a huge hit on the recruiting trail as well, as several recruits have decommitted.

• Colorado CB Travis Hunter to miss three weeks after an egregious targeting hit from Colorado State defender

• SMU raised $100 million in 7 days to help with their transition to the ACC

• After three weeks of college football there are seven teams that remain winless - East Carolina, UConn, Virginia, Sam Houston State, Nevada, Buffalo, and Colorado State

• The Pac-12’s remaining two members (Oregon State & Washington State) have taken legal action against the ten departing members to prevent them from making any decisions about the future of the conference

• After years of decline nationwide in the number of high school football players, it grew 5.6% last season, nearly double any other sport since covid began

• CB Cobee Bryant Kansas was ejected for targeting and will miss the first half of this week’s game.

• LB Darius Snow Michigan State didn’t play this week (out on availability report)

• LB Cody Lindenberg Minnesota didn’t play again this week (out on availability report)

• Safety Nick Emmanwori South Carolina is questionable this week vs Furman

• Safety Evan Williams and LB Jestin Jacobs are still recovering from injuries for Oregon and their status for this week is in doubt

• Bears Rookie defensive tackle Gervon Dexter who played for the Florida Gators is suing an NIL company for an agreement from when he played at Florida.  That agreement allegedly had a clause that Dexter must pay the company 15% of his future NFL earnings for the next 25 years. The NIL deal paid Dexter $436.485 while at Florida.

• FSU vs LSU - game play (i.e. presentation) was 2 hours 27 minutes, ad time 131 ads for 55 minutes and 48 seconds, total game time was 3 hours and 23 minutes

• Georgia football staff member and former player Jarvis Jones was arrested for reckless driving and speeding.

• Penn State will be without the services of Defensive Tackle Alonzo Ford Jr, a transfer from ODU who is out for the season due to injury.  Ford was expected to see time as a rotational player along the defensive line for the Nittany Lions.

• Washington has suspended freshman defensive back Diesel Gordon indefinitely.  When questioned about the issue Head Coach Kalen Deboer said the issues “were serious enough” to warrant a suspension and that he didn’t feel the freshman was being accountable.  Gordon was a 3-star recruit from Texas and was expected to provide depth for the Huskies' defensive backfield this season.

• There is speculation that Apple may try and purchase ESPN from Disney.  Disney purchased ESPN for $19 billion in 1996.  Expectations are that it would sell for 3 times that currently.
