Christ is the end of the law for righteousness--if we trust in His righteousness!

God gives us His own righteousness, we cannot achieve it. 

God's grace is undeserved, as we see in the book of Hosea.

What God says goes. We can only bring gifts to him that he has given to us. We are faithful because he favors us.

The people of God are those who are children of God by faith and by his favor.

Thinking about God's work in sinful human hearts takes vast amounts of humility that only the gospel can supply.

Christ interrupts our thinking about who we love and how we love.

The Christian lives life by knowing Christ has conquered the world, and it is powerless to separate us from his love.

What shall we say then? God is Victorious in all things.

God has already accomplished the highest good for us--the salvation of our souls--through the most evil thing that has ever happened--the death of his Son.

Not only does God save us from death, his Spirit that dwells within us prays on our behalf when we can't find the words.

Waiting eagerly and patiently for new life in Christ points our dying world to him and his good purposes.

God preserved his creation through a time of futility for redemption, rather than destroying it.

In this episode, we sprint through Romans up to chapter eight to see how far we've come.

Suffering is the Christian life. We look to Christ who suffered so that we might have life in his name. We suffer for the everlasting joy that is set before us.

Salvation is of the Lord.

The same miraculous power that raised Christ from the dead is exactly what it takes to save a sinner--and that powerful Spirit dwells in the hearts of those who follow Christ.

Following God is a matter of loving him more than yourself. Understanding what Christ has done is the only way to love him more.

We should look to God to direct our life.

Guilt is not a Christian feeling. Turn to Christ to be free of shame, guilt, and condemnation.

Grace is about what the Son of God did, not what we can or must do.

God in Christ is alone powerful enough to defeat sin.

When we hate others, it proves we hate God.

The greatest joy--found in Christ alone--comes from rejoicing in our suffering.

When we are at peace with God the world opposes us. When we are brought into the favor of God, the hope of his glory overcomes our disappointment with the world.  

Faith is for God's glory, not the fulfillment of our desires. 

Faith is the narrow road to life; the ditches are denying God or trying to usurp his throne.  His grace, the undeserved gift of life by the death and resurrection of Christ, is the only way. 

The promise of an inheritance from God comes through the righteousness of faith. 

What makes people "the chosen people of God" is God's gracious choosing. This blessing is for those who trust in his promise of the blessing of righteousness as true children trust their father.

Man is only ever as great as God's grace allows him to be. The greatest gift we have received is the righteousness of Christ, and we cannot live without him.

The human doctrine of arrival is satanic; faith is the death of pride, but the way to life.

Christ's death on the cross proclaims God's righteousness and justice; it is grace and life for sinful men and women.

The law is a gift from God so that we might be convicted of our sin and come to know our need for his salvation.

God graciously enters into covenant relationship with sinners. Jesus fulfills the demands of God's justice for us as law-breakers. 

Knowing Christ sets us free from self-pity and pride; the cross crushes self-flagellation and self-congratulation.

We must be fully aware of the depth of our sin so that we might fully understand the depth of his grace.

The world has rejected God and His Word, fleeing life and peace. The gospel is the only way to true life, eternal at that.

We ignore the truth of God because we follow our hearts rather than trust in him.

Faith in Christ as our only hope for righteousness is the sum of the Christian life.
