Who are your heroes? Large and in charge people? Godly and humble servants? The Hero of Heaven is mighty to save...and we need such a hero desperately!
Noah's name means relief, rest, or comfort. But relief is not spelled N-O-A-H, or C-H-I-L-D-R-E-N, or S-P-O-U-S-E. There is, nonetheless, even here a prospect of something more.
Would you want to live 930 years? Or are these lifespans in Genesis 5 simply symbolic? Even at face value, there's a lesson here, reflected in Psalm 90:13: Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
