7 Hard Questions You're Not Asking Your Customers
7 Hard Questions You're Not Asking Your Customers  Part of an effective and successful selling process is being inquisitive.  Are you and your team asking the hard questions because hard questions close deals.  When Grant started his first business at the age of 29, he anticipated that it would take him about three months to get the income he previously had.  But it wound up taking about three years.  By the time Grant was three months in, he'd nearly quit and not because of the money.  It was because of the amount of resistance and disappointment he way experiencing.  It left him feeling lost…  Looking back now, Grant says he wasn’t asking the right questions,  I wasn’t taking enough risks, and I wasn’t closing as many sales as I wanted because I didn’t have the right answers because I wasn't asking hard questions…"  but now he does and we're going to be sharing some with you.

How to Stay on Track in 2021  You're wondering how to stay on track in 2021.  In previous years the intentions were good but...  How come by early March most gyms are ghost towns?  How is it that we go hard into the new year but then lose steam and momentum just after slipping into Q2 and then settle for just another year?  Aren't we all guilty of this to some degree?  2021 doesn't have to be a repeat of 2020, 2019 or any year that we gassed out.  FULL TEXT:

ADVERSITY: The Wednesday Word #WednesdayWisdom
ADVERSITY:  The Wednesday Word #WednesdayWisdom  This week's Wednesday Word, Adversity is a noun.  ADVERSITY DEFINITION:  : difficulties; misfortune; as in "resilience in the face of adversity" : a state or instance of serious or continued difficulty or misfortune  ADVERSITY ETYMOLOGY:  Middle English: from Old French adversite, from Latin adversitas, from advertere ‘turn towards’.  FROM  “When circumstances or situations work against you, you face adversity.  For example, refugees from war-torn countries encounter terrible adversity.  In the Bible, The Jews enslaved in Egypt faced adversity while enslaved and God also delivered some adversity on the Egyptians until Pharaoh released them and then they got another 40 years of adversity in the desert.  If you, like me watch UFC, some of the best fights are the ones where a fighter faces adversity.  Where it looks like they're going to lose and somehow manage to comeback and win.  Silva / Sonnen I comes to mind.  Adversity, which is a noun has been part of the English language for over 800 years. It comes from the Latin adversus, literally means "turned against," and figuratively "hostile or unfavorable."  So, when things seem against you, whether that's circumstances or a stroke of bad luck, you are facing adversity.  Sometimes people use a form of the phrase "turning adversity into opportunity." This refers to the ability some people or companies have to take a bad situation and make it into a successful one.”  ADVERSITY ACTION IDEAS:  Quotes to implement:  "Problems are opportunities."  -Grant Cardone "Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change."  -Wayne Dyer  Exercise:  How can you develop the ability to make lemonade?  Take a moment and look at what adversities have you experienced in your life so far?  What opportunities can you find in them?  And if you can't find any, then what opportunities can you create from them?  Have you ever seen the CTL + ALT + DELETE meme?  I thought of this when going over this word.  What can CTL + ALT + DELETE do for you in while the face of adversity?  CTL yourself ALTer your thinking DELETE negativity

How to Change (The Truth About Your Situation)   You know you really can't go wrong with the road sign analogy.  Road signs alert you to what's coming; to what's ahead; to what's in store.  Life has signs and so does success.  The challenge is that they are more subtle.  They also require you to be paying attention to your surroundings.  If not, you will miss them...   "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it."  -Ferris Bueler   QUESTION:  Where are you on the road of life?  Do you have everything you want?  Have you accomplished everything you want to accomplish in this life?  Are your days purpose driven and focused or are they random and uncertain?  There are 24 hours in the day.  Assuming 8 hours of sleep, what's going with the other 16?  How is that time filled?  If nature abhors a vacuum and the time is there, it will get filled in with something.  But what?  What's going in there?   FULL TEXT:  David Bradley is a Sales & Marketing Manager with Cardone T

Sales Prospecting During COVID-19
Sales Prospecting During COVID-19 If you've read If You're Not First You're Last, then you already know that personal visits are the single most powerful method by which you will ever make contact with a client and are guaranteed to advance your position in the marketplace. But right now, everyone is in lockdown and normal social interactions are hard to come by. No longer can you just pop into a local business and make a personal visit. That’s why this month you need to make your #1 prospecting activity that little tool you carry in your pocket—your phone! Grant's said in the past it would take 10 phone calls to equal the outcome of one personal visit.  Well, that still holds true, but with personal visits out the window right now, you need to be making 10X the number of phone calls! 3 Questions To Explode Your Confidence In Sales
Have you ever seen someone who’s confidence seemed unbreakable?  Have you ever looked at someone who exudes confidence and wondered how they built that indestructible confidence? When you think about the new salesperson, someone who’s just starting out, especially if there is not training and the poor new person is basically thrown to the wolves. My first sales job was selling circus tickets over the phone in 1994.  I was given a copy of the white pages, a rotary dial phone, a pen and a stack of order forms.  Training consisted of, “start with the letter L.  We did J and K yesterday.” Literally, I had no idea what I was doing, new nothing about the show and made zero money.  I made it about 90 minutes before quitting.  What was the main problem for me there.  Lack of confidence in sales.  And this lack of confidence in sales followed me to other sales jobs.  I got better, but not even remotely close to killing it.  Have you ever been there? How to get yourself out of hopelessness
hopelessness:  a feeling or state of despair; lack of hope. One way to get yourself out of hopelessness is to increase your urgency and necessity.  For instance, if your life depended on getting a sale today, you would get a sale, regardless of the economy.   Take a cue from children; they continue to focus on getting what they want despite any “recession.”  Children will relentlessly pitch as though their lives depend on it and usually until they close the “deal.”  But how and why are they able to do that? Because they pay more attention to the outcome than the problem. This means you're going to have to remember how to do that.  You knew how to do it once, now it's time to remember and implement.  It's time to adopt a winning belief system. LIVING: The Wednesday Word #WednesdayWisdom
Let’s do the definition real fast, right? Let’s just get that part covered.  Meaning: having life.  I want to do the verb version of the word.  Living means “having life.”  Also, “the condition of being alive.” Now, when we look at the etymology, the history, we show origins, meaning action, the doing, which goes back to the condition of being alive, living.  The action of living, it’s an action, it’s something that you do, a process. And then method of gaining one’s livelihood.  So that’s another meaning of living like, “Hey, what do you do for a living?” How do you you know?  What is your method of gaining livelihood, meaning money? So here’s what I want to do… First question, if the definition is and (when you look it up), the first thing you see is having life. FULL TEXT:

What beliefs do you have about abundance in your life right now?  Good or bad?  ABUNDANCE: The Wednesday Word #WednesdayWisdom an ample quantity, affluence, wealth, a relative degree of plenty fullness. This week's Wednesday word is abundance. It originated from Old French, and then directly from Latin, meaning fullness and plenty.  Also, to overflow so when you hear that word abound, it's totally connected to abundance to overflow. And as always, what does Uncle G, Grant Cardone have to say about abundance from his book Sell Or Be Sold [get your copy: ] under the chapter called Your Buyers Money. He says this...

How do you handle "not interested"
On a cold call, has anyone ever told you they're not interested?  What about in a retail setting?  If you're in retail, you're probably hearing "just looking."  It's basically the same thing.  And if you're not hearing this multiple times a day, it could be an indicator that you're not taking enough action. So, if you're hearing it everyday, how do you handle "not interested" when you hear it?  Because if you don't have a plan and a set response those two little words can stop you dead in your tracks. Why do you think so many people struggle with selling? FULL TEXT:

What you need to be successful in sales
What you need to be successful in sales When doing a sales training consultation with a client, I like to ask two key questions: What do you expect from your salespeople? What do your salespeople need to be successful? The answers help me understand what’s important to them as a leader and also what they need from us in order to get what they expect, provide what is needed and deliver the correct training and motivation. But let’s make this about you for a moment. You’re in sales.  What do you expect from yourself?  What do you need to be successful?  If you’re not seeing the results you want but the effort is there, maybe you’re not getting your needs met.  Maybe your expectations are out.  If the production isn’t there it usually can be traced back to a motivation or skill issue.  So let’s look at what a salesperson needs to be successful. [Attn managers: make sure your people are getting these needs met] To be successful in sales you need these six things Targets Perception Study Practice Debrief / Correction Consistency FULL TEXT:

Are you thinking in terms of your potential?
Grant had to do a lot of work to get his mind right.  In fact everyone who’s ever created a large amount of success had to do a lot of work to get their mind right.  When Grant was a kid, scarcity was all around him.  He was told to be happy with what I had, that we were better off than so many others.  Both his mom and dad thought the same way. Thinking like they did would have never given Grant the life that he has today. Now he can help many more people than he could if he’d have adopted his parent’s mindset. When you think small, you focus and worry about YOUR problems...

Is your ego bigger than your closing ratio?
You ever known a salesman with an ego bigger than their closing ratio? Be honest now, have you ever lost a deal because your ego got in the way? I think we all have! How about this?  Have you ever missed a deal and then intentionally found someone else or some other condition to blame? That is a false sense of your ability level – that is the ego that we’re talking about. A sales person that thinks he knows, but doesn’t really know, so blames failures on other conditions. A professional salesperson that fully accepts responsibility and understands there is always more to learn, knows there are things he/she doesn’t know that may be blocking them from the next level of sales production. COLD CALL MINDSETS: 3 Post-It notes for your phone that you have to have
If you use the phone the way Grant Cardone does, you know how vital it is to grow your business and if you sell on the phone, the three most important things for you will be your attitude, your approach and your level of action. Keeping your head on right will be the most important thing. The other thing you must do is check your ego at the door. There are three mindsets that you must drill down and incorporate into your thinking and have the highest level of certainty on. Let's be honest, the only reasons you have to hate the phone and cold calling is either you're not properly motivated or you just lack the skill. Motivation runs out. It's like gas in the car. You must keep that tank full. Skill is something that also runs out and fades fast. Everyday, most likely multiple times a day, you need to reset your motivation and skill buttons or pay the price. Technically, there's a price either way. Discipline has a price. Crapping out has a price. DISCLAIMER: The following three Grant Cardone quotes and tips are very real, they work and I still screw them up with relative frequency. They must be reinforced daily if not hourly to take full effect. Action IDEAS: Watch Grant's video on Handling The RDR and do the exercises at the end. Get a partner and practice handling RDRs. How Did Eliud Kipchoge Break 2 Hours
In the latest Grant Cardone Strategy of the Week, Grant asks us, “what are your false barriers?”  Start thinking with this now.  What do you believe are barriers in your life that you know are false? Since 1954, anytime you wanted to site an example of what happens when one person does the seemingly impossible and breaks the “unbreakable” barrier, most people would reference Roger Banister. In 1954, Banister became the first person to run 1 mile in under 4 minutes.  Prior to this the general consensus was that a sub 4 minute mile was impossible but Banister got it handled in 3:59 seconds.  In 1999,  Hicham El Guerrouj did it in 3:43.13.  This is the current world record. What’s the lesson? Listen UP!

You get one shot at 2020
You get one shot at 2020 Time is relentless.  You’re only getting 365 days to make 2020 the best year of your life. As the saying goes, “use it or lose it.”  Use your time to create your dreams.  Right now is the time to move toward your goals.  Have you given up on your goals and dreams?  Have you ever seen someone who is less talented than you pass you by?  How did THAT feel? We need to use the time we have because with each passing day that you don’t invest in you, the chances of YOU getting left behind increase. Others will be becoming millionaires in 2020. Others will be learning sales, business, and marketing hacks that will take their incomes to different stratospheres. Why NOT you? Why not anyone?  The truth is, the average person isn’t going to go through all the trouble it takes to get rich.  They’ll keep doing the same things they’re doing now, because it’s comfortable and it’s easy and in about 3-5 years they might consider investing in themselves because hopefully they’re starting to realize they’re going nowhere. Is this you right now?  Stop waiting like everyone else. We have found that there are two main causes of staying average when you know you have the potential to be GREAT.  And no, lazy is not one of them.  No one is lazy.  Their focus maybe off or their priorities are out of alignment with their true purpose but trust me, no one is lazy. First one, you know what what want but you don’t know how to get it. Second, you’re good enough where you’re at and not willing to pay the price to get to your next level. Both of these can, if you allow them to, stop you dead in your tracks.  And that’s the key thing here.  Are you going to allow what you don’t know to stop you?  Are you going to eventually wind up trading comfort for regret? It doesn’t have to go down like that! You need a support network, you need information and you need knowledge.  Who’s on your team right now?  Where do you get your information?  What’s the difference between information and knowledge?
