Movie Reviews with DQ: "Acrimony" (2018)
In today's episode we catch a fit of "Acrimony" (2018).
Tyler Perry directs "Acrimony," starring Taraji P. Henson in the role of an embittered black woman, a plot trope recognizable for Perry's fans.
The plot focuses on the relationship between Melinda and Robert, starting from their early courtship in university and their eventual divorce.
What does acrimony mean? Rage and bitterness.
Does it sound like alimony? Yes it does! Maybe because both of these issues arise through a difference of expectations.

In Will Eisner’s semi-autobiographical comic, "The Dreamer," we learn the ins-and-outs of American comic pioneers, including Ken Corn, Jack Kirby, and Bob Kane. Take a stroll down 1930s New York with Will Eisner and see the world through a true world builder, a savant of storytelling, and a foreman of dreams.

Comic and Movie Reviews with DQ: "Bitter Root" and "The Haunting in Connecticut: Ghosts of Georgia"

In the comic "Bitter Root," the Sangerye Family is the only force that can save New York and the world from a sadistic supernatural army.
The comic Bitter Root allegorically portrays the cataclysmic war against ignorance, fear, and racism. On the other hand, "The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia" captures a supernatural consequence of ignoring the Other and historical trauma. In this modern supernatural horror, "The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia," a young family descend into a centuries-old Southern hell.
