Quick update since we haven't done a podcast for a while and the requests are flooding in

James found our Surveying podcast online and got in touch to say he enjoyed the content - so we got him on board to record an episode with us!
He is a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor who has gone out on his own and he also has set up a recruitment business.
We have a casual chat to see what the future holds for James and he also asks me a few good questions about what we are up to at Definition Surveying.

I have recommended this book to lots of people but ironically they haven't had time to read it.

As requested by a listener... here is a quick summary of what a Surveyor has to do when marking boundaries for a subdivision.
Note that you don't need a subdivision consent to mark existing boundaries (this is just required for new boundaries) but we do still need to create a plan that needs to be lodged to LINZ every time we put an official boundary mark in.
