What Time Is It?

In this sermon titled "What Time Is It", Apostle Kenneth Anderson from God of Deliverance Ministries in Rocky Mt., NC, emphasizes the significance of understanding God's timing and receiving revelations. Reboot or Reset: Embracing Spiritual Renewal

Reboot or Reset: Embracing Spiritual Renewal

This week at Dayspring Christian Center, Pastor Cohen emphasizes the importance of understanding these terms and how they relate to our lives. Rebooting refers to a temporary fix that refreshes a system or device by restarting it, while resetting involves a more drastic process of restoring a device to its original factory settings, erasing data and personal files. Pastor Cohen applies these concepts to our spiritual lives, suggesting that true spiritual renewal requires a deeper transformation and a willingness to let go of things that hinder our growth. The process of renewing our minds and hearts involves rejecting conformity to worldly values, seeking God's guidance, and aligning our choices with His will. It requires discipline, perseverance, and a daily surrender to God. Pastor emphasizes that embracing spiritual renewal is an ongoing journey that requires intentional commitment. He discusses the need for a mind shift and a renewal of perspective, leading to transformed thinking, attitudes, and actions. By living counter-culturally and honoring God in all aspects of our lives, we become powerful witnesses to the transformative power of Christ. The renewal of our minds involves the work of the Holy Spirit within us, convicting, illuminating, and transforming us. It requires consistent engagement with God's Word, reflection, and meditation, as well as a reliance on the Holy Spirit. The goal is to live in a manner that brings glory to God and to become vessels of His transformative work in the world. What Do You Do When Things Don't Go The Way You Expected?

This week, Dayspring Christian Center welcomes Minister Larry Hunter and his wife Deborah Hunter, who are missionaries in Thailand. The Hunters are to be commended for their service to God and their work as true missionaries. Larry Hunter tells the story of his struggle to find a suitable church to worship in when he first arrived in Thailand, but eventually found one that allowed him to volunteer and be useful in the children's ministry. He emphasizes the importance of being plugged into a church and being useful for the Kingdom of God. He believes that challenges can make a person better and allow them to be stretched. Minister Hunter then challenges us to look at our faith response when things don't go the way we expected them to go. He reminds us that it's about the promise, not the journey. But how do we respond when the journey has unexpected twists and turns? tune in to find out! If you prayed the prayer of salvation with us, please text the keyword "SAVED" to 252-627-9900. Giving and Ruling with Mercy

This week at Dayspring, Bishop teaches from Romans 12:8, concerning the gifts of exhortation, liberality, diligence, and mercy. The lesson focuses on the gifts of giving, ruling, and mercy, and how they are interconnected. Bishop emphasizes that everyone has gifts from God, and that faith is given to operate these gifts. He also stresses that the gift of giving is proportional to one's faith and ability to give, and that giving with simplicity keeps us from being prideful. Lastly, Bishop notes that givers are also receivers and that breaking the cycle of giving can end the gift.

Balanced Ministry

Balanced Ministry

This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches on the second gift, serving/ministry, in this message entitled, "Balanced Ministry" from Romans 12:7. The words serving or ministry is diakonia in the Greek, meaning "to wait on tables”. It describes a person who serves and ministers in a wide variety of common labors and in the most practical way, both physically and spiritually.

It is vital we balance both worship and work. In Luke 10:38-42, we see the story of Martha and Mary and how attitudes can arise if we are not properly balanced.

We pray as you watch this message, you will examine your worship and work and make any adjustments if you find things out of balance.

Speaking God

Speaking God

This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches from Romans 12:6 on "Speaking God" (gift of prophecy). Every believer has gifts but we must not confuse the gift with the office. There are seven grace gifts: serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leadership, showing mercy and prophecy. Prophesying is "communicating God's message to strengthen, encourage, and comfort. The prophet explains the Word of God both: the living Word and the written Word. The prophet is not always predicting the future, but often effectively communicating God's message. The prophet is the "declarer of God's will and purpose." The prophet must believe what he/she is saying and must believe in the One who sent them. If you speak what you don't believe, it is lying. The Word of God should bring freedom, not bondage. We pray as you listen to this powerful message, you will gain a deeper understanding on the grace gifts and how you can properly utilize the gift of prophecy. Have a wonderful and blessed week.

Diversity of Function

Diversity of Function

Bishop Rodgers teaches from Romans 12:6-8 on "Diversity of Function" as it pertains to gifts. There is unity and diversity in the church. Vertically, we belong to Christ and horizontally we belong to each other. We are interdependent. In the eyes of God, no gift is more important than another. Gifts are irrevocable and require work. We are responsible for developing the gift and utilizing in the proper manner. We must exercise the gifts in humility and in power. You are a gift to the body, so how are you working the "gift" God gave you?

We pray has you listen to this message, you will be able to answer that question honestly. If you are not doing anything, ask the Lord to show you what you are to do. Measured to Function (Pt. 2)

Measured to Function (Pt. 2)

This week, Bishop Rodgers continues the series "Measured to Function" from Romans 12:3-5. There are individual gifts and gifts to the body of Christ with the purpose of advancing the kingdom of God. Genuine faith differs from conceptual belief and is always accompanied by action. So, the functionality of your faith (doing) determines the effectiveness of your service. All Christians are members of an orchestra, but everyone is not a soloist. Each member functions to serve the body, not the body serving the members. Many of us find problems living the Christian life when we are not fully committed and only try to live half of it. We must either be hot or cold for Christ, not lukewarm.

We pray as you watch and listen to this message, you will gain a deeper understanding of your gifts and your service to the body Christ. If you prayed the prayer of salvation with us, please text the keyword "SAVED" to 252-627-9900. We'd love to connect with you! Have a wonderful and safe week.

Measured to Function

Measured to Function

This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches on a new topic, "Measured to Function" from Romans 12:3-5. Our bodies are the temple of God and we are to carry out a specific function, which is our reasonable service, in the body of Christ. A believer's consecration to God and one's transformed lifestyle is demonstrated in exercising our spiritual gifts in the church.

The gifts we (believers) have is because of the God's grace. God has given each believer faith to serve Him. This means we are to serve in the function which we were empowered to do. Believers are "obligated" to serve for the benefit of the other members and the body as a whole. This begins with us asking two questions: (1) Who am I (in Christ) and (2) What am I doing? We have to be honest with ourselves. If we lie to ourselves, we will never be delivered and do what God has called us to do.

We pray as you listen to this powerful message, you will examine yourself and have a clearer understanding of who you are in Christ and start doing the work He called you to do! If you prayed the prayer of salvation with us, please text the keyword "SAVED" to 252-627-9900. We'd love to connect with you! Have a wonderful and blessed week.

Rethinking Your Service (Pt. 4) - "Free Will or Transformation"

This week, Bishop Rodgers continues to teach on the series "Rethinking Your Service" on "Free Will or Transformation" from Romans 12:1-2. The believer's mind is to be renewed, which means to be made new, readjusted, changed, turned around, or regenerated

In order for believers to truly perceive life from God's perspective, we must live it His way. Only Christ can renew the human mind and implant the mind of Christ. As believes, we are always changing because God is continuing to lead us into His truth. As we grow in Christ, we are learning His ways. God has an intention, a purpose, and a plan for us. Bishop defines "will" , "free" and "transformation"

Rethinking My Service (Pt. 3)

This week, Bishop Rodgers continues the series "Rethinking My Service" from Romans 12:1-2. Apostle Paul moves to explain "how" the temple (our bodies) gets filled and with "what". He urges us not to pattern ourselves after one another or being molded by the world, but we must be transformed by the renewing of our minds and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit "changes" us and "enables" us to offer ourselves completely to God. Inward change in our heart produces outward change in our lives. The "change" of life which the Lord approves is a changed produced by the renovation of the mind in understanding, affections and the will. This starts with us cleaning our memory from all unclean, sinful recollections and creating new memories.

Rethinking My Service (Pt. 2)

Rethinking My Service (Pt. 2)

This week, Bishop Rodgers continues the series "Rethinking My Service" from Romans 12:1-2. Apostle Paul reminds the church we are to offer our bodies as living sacrifices to the Lord which is our spiritual (reasonable) worship. The term "bodies" refer to everything we are--our totality. As Christians, we are called to a lifestyle different from the world. We are to be "transformed," meaning changed into a new form of life by the renewing or resetting of our mind, having a new spirit, and walking after the Holy Spirit. We transform our minds by the Word of God. Re-programming the mind is not a quick process, it is a lifelong process, in which the mind is taken from the world and more and more made to "have in mind the things of God".

We pray as you listen to this powerful, life-changing message, you will begin to examine your "walk" and ask the Lord to show you areas in your life where you need to "reset".

Stumbling Block or Stepping Stone

This week, Pastor Cohen Rodgers teaches from John 14:3 on the topic “Stepping Stones or Stumbling Blocks”. The church is a hospital for those who need a Healer. As believers, we are called to be the light of the world in our circle of influence. Pastor Cohen provides an excellent illustration on the purpose of God, Jesus, Pastor/Leaders, God’s servants, and God’s passion-the lost. For the church to be effective and to grow, there must be a continuous flow. Let’s not be a stumbling block, but a stepping stone. Lastly, remember stepping stones get stepped on. Rethinking My Service

Rethinking My Service

Bishop Rodgers teaches, this week, from Romans 12:1-2 on "Rethinking My Service". In this passage, Paul moves from a doctrinal discussion to a practical discussion. This means serving God in our everyday lives outside of rituals. He teaches us to offer "our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God". This action is free and voluntary, our worship. We are to devote ourselves to God for His purpose. Bishop defines the terms "holy,"  "acceptable," and "reasonable." Since we are the temple of God, we must remember every act is an act of service to God. We pray as you start out the new year, you will begin to rethink how you serve God, in every aspect of your life. If you are not saved, then it is a great time for you to come to know the Lord, so you too can serve Him and do His will.

The Night Before Christmas (Part 5) - Christmas Day

The King does not come to the proud and powerful, but to the poor and powerless. The couple was forced to journey to Bethlehem to pay taxes. The journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem was 80 miles. Though there was no room for Christ in the hearts of man, there was room for Christ on the cross. Christ would rule the world and judge all people according to their decision about Him. The Night Before Christmas (Part 4)

This week, Bishop Rodgers continues the series "The Night Before Christmas". Dayspring means "sunrise" The word "rising sun" was rendered in the Old English version as "Dayspring". It was a dawn of a new day because of the tender mercies of God. There are 5 points we need to understand about services: (1) Purpose of redemption is for service; (2) Nature of service is in holiness and righteousness; (3) Freedom to service; (4) Serve without fear; and (5) Service for the duration of our life. We were redeemed for the purpose of serving God. Salvation enables a child of God to serve God. The Night Before Christmas (Part 3)

This week, Bishop Rodgers continues the series "The Night Before Christmas" from Luke 1:67-80. The first prophecy of the promising Messiah is found in Genesis 3:15. Every child born is a blessing from God. Zachary and Elizabeth were blessed abundantly because of the promise of John The coming of Christ means the following: (1) Opening prison doors; (2) Winning the battle; (3) Canceling of debt; and (4) the dawning of a new Day, Dayspring. Salvation means health and soundness. The results of victory is sanctity and service. Christ came to set us free from bondage to do the will of the Father. The Church Family Feud

The Church Family Feud

This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches from 1 John 3:9-14 on “The Church Family Feud”. When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are given a new position and are “born again” into the family of God. We are set apart for God’s own purpose to live for His glory. This means a new believer undergoes the following: justification - a new standing before God; sanctification – being set apart to God; and regeneration – a new nature, God’s nature. The church family feud occurs when we refuse to obey God and are “carried away” or “enticed” by our old desires and fleshly appetites.  This clashes with others who are totally submitted to God and His desires for our life. Unfortunately, in the Body of Christ, there are Cains and Abels.  This means there are individuals who worship God outwardly, but not inwardly. Also, there are Abels who inwardly belong to God’s family and outwardly practice love and truth. We pray as you listen to this message, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you any areas in your heart which are not fully submitted to God.

Forgive to be Forgiven

This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches from Matthew 6:14-15 on "Forgive to be Forgiven". "The Lord's Prayer" offers six petitions: (1) God's name would be hallowed; (2) Pray and work for the advancement of God's kingdom on earth; (3) God's will on earth; (4) Disciple's daily bread; (5) Prayer for restoration of personal fellowship with God; and (6) Lead us not into temptation or testing. There is an order of the petitions in the Lord's Prayer. The first three focus on God and His glory and the last three focus on the believer's needs. It is important to remember we, as believers, must forgive others if we want the Lord to forgive us. We pray as you listen to this powerful message, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you any unforgiveness you are holding against anyone, alive or dead. We cannot walk in fellowship with God, when we refuse to forgive others. If you are holding on to unforgiveness, then forgive them. May this message bless you and your family.

The Compassion of Christ

The Compassion of Christ

This week, Bishop P. O. Rodgers teaches from Matthew 9:35-38 on the "Compassion of Christ". Jesus showed us how ministry is to be perpetuated through John the Baptist, Jesus, then the disciples and finally us-the church. Jesus had a threefold work: teaching, preaching and healing. He balanced ministry by expressing the compassionate love for the multitudes. We as the body of Christ are to do the same. We are to hold tight to our confession of Jesus, because He is capable of unparalleled understanding and sympathy. The word "sympathy" is defined as "the perception, understanding, and reaction to the distress or need of another." The word "empathy" is defined as a "desire to help," but the word "compassion" means "an emotion we feel when others are in need, which motivates us to help." Compassionate people seek to exhibit unconditional love around them and are eager to find opportunities to alleviate the distress or sadness of others. As the body of Christ, we must become Christ-like, meaning Christ was occasion moved to literal tears over the plight of sinners, we should do likewise. We pray as you listen to this message, God will give you a vision for the mission He has called you to do. We must begin to see the world as Jesus sees it.

The Reverse Church

The Reverse Church

This week, Pastor Cohen Rodgers teaches from Matthew 16:13-19 on "The Reserve Church". Many people are turned off of church for a number of reasons. Regardless of the reasons, we as believers must be the church and cause others to "reverse" the way they review church. We must be the solutions to win the lost back to Christ. Many believe the church is a building but really the church is us - the "organism". We, the believers, must be authentic, value imperfection, and pray for revelation. When we realize how we were when we first came to Christ, then we can truly witness to others and share our testimony. Christ did not call us to come to a building and just sit. He didn't call us to be judgemental, mean, or unforgiving to those who are just coming into the faith. We all have a part to play in growing the body of Christ. This means being a living testimony to those who say "church sucks" and demonstrating love.  When we "reverse church", in our circle of influence, then we are fulfilling the "Great Commission". We pray as you listen to this powerful message, you will examine your own personal attitude and actions in and about church, and then repent. We pray God will give you a revelation of where He wants to take you spiritually and naturally. Be the solution and cause others to "reverse church".

Changed by the Word's Witness

Changed by the Word's Witness

This week, Bishop Rodgers continues to teach from Acts 10:25-44 on "Changed by the Word's Witness". It was an old custom that strict Jews would have no contact with a Gentile or a Jew who did not observe the Law. Peter was trained in this custom. God had to reveal to Peter in a vision that you can't call someone unclean who God has cleansed. When Peter was asked by Cornelius' men to come with them to Cornelius' home, Peter went. Cornelius demonstrated an eagerness to know and obey God. Upon their meeting, Peter removes from Cornelius' mind and heart the difference between Jew and Gentile. This is the starting point for any who would take the Gospel. This means God accepts everyone but on His terms. God does not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnic background, but on whose behavior is acceptable and whose attitude is not. Those who reverence God and practice what is right in His eyes are acceptable to Him. We pray as you listen to this powerful message, you will examine your own life. Are you living up to your confession of Christ being the head of your life? Does your lifestyle and speech support your confession? If not, no worries, just repent of your sins and ask the Lord to order your steps. Then, start reading the Word on a regular basis and ask the Lord to show you the areas which need to be fixed. We are praying for you to be everything God created you to be.

Breaking Historical Barriers

Breaking Historical Barriers

This week, Bishop continues to teach from the Book Acts 10:9-23 on "Breaking Historical Barriers". The disciples of Jesus had been educated from their childhood on having intense attitudes toward those not of a Jewish background. Also, they Jesus teach on saving the lost sheep of the House of Israel. So, how was God going to overcome and break down the walls and barriers of prejudice that had been built up through the centuries of history. God broke through the prejudicial environment and customs using Peter. Peter was in a trance and he saw a vision. Even in the vision, Peter doubted what God had said and three times God corrected Peter's resistance. Doubting God is the rebellion of Eden. When God says something, our response should be "Yes Lord!" Peter stands as a reminder to us to rely on the stabilizing and strengthening power of the Holy Spirit. Are you being Spirit-led by God? We pray as you listen to this message, you will be able to answer this question "Who's making the decision in your life."

The Turning Point

The Turning Point

This week, Bishop continues to teach from Acts 10:3-6 on the "Turning Point". In this passage of scripture, God tells Cornelius to send men to Joppa for Simon. Cornelius was a devout man, a praying man and a worshipper of God. His faith "had hands" because he gave generously to people. This means Cornelius activities involved serving others. He was not just focus on his family. This should be the testimony of every believer.    The sincerity of one's heart will catch God's eye. Our prayers and generous giving should be a memorial offering before God. We pray as you listen to this message, you will gain a deeper understanding of giving and the importance of Memorial offerings.

The Saints Superpower

The Saints Superpower

This week, Bishop continues to teach from Acts 9:32-43 on the "Saints Superpower". Our attitude is crucial in our spiritual and natural life. It is possible for great evens of our lives to be neutralized by wrong attitudes about a person or a thing. Apostle Peter is a great example of how presumption can affect us. Presumption is defined as "self-centered" or "offensively arrogant." Though Peter was the rock which Christ would build His church, Peter's presumption caused him to deny Christ three times. Once Peter as restored, he was in a place which Christ would use him for His glory. We think too much on what we can do and too little of what Christ can do through us. We pray as you listen to this message, you will recognize your superpower is Christ and allow Him to do great exploits through you for His glory.

Who's Barnabas, Are You?

Who's Barnabas, Are You?

This week, Bishop teaches from Acts 9:26-29 on the important role Barnabas played in the acceptance of Saul to the church. Barnabas' nickname was the "Son of Encouragement." First, he sold some land and donated to the church for the benefit of the Christian community. He also became Saul's sponsor. This meant he was the bridge between Saul and the Apostles. New Christians, especially those with tarnished reputations, need sponsors. Barnabas was an interceder, a reconciler, and an enabler. He was able to forgive and put aside Saul's past. Barnabas was able to trust Saul despite his past sins and dangers. As you listen to this message, who are you encouraging? Whose sponsor are you? As new believers enter the church and you know of their reputation, will you forgive and accept them? If we want to see the church grow, we as believers must learn to love and treat others with respect. We all want to see the church grow, but it starts with us.

The Power of Obedience

The Power of Obedience

This week, Bishop Rodgers continues to teach from Acts 9:10-18 on the "Power of Obedience." Saul and Ananias each had been given a vision. Saul was blind and Ananias was given a directive to go to Saul and lay hands on him. Ananias knew of Saul's reputation and was reluctant to obey. When the situation looks like our obedience could result in trouble, this is when we need to trust and obey. Obedience or learning to obey, is the supreme trait and evidence of the true believer. Saul believed, repented, and confessed Christ as Lord, but this did not complete his conversion. We pray as you listen to this message, you will examine your life and any area which you are not obedient and repent.

Overcoming Parallel Blindness

Overcoming Parallel Blindness

This week, Bishop Rodgers teaches from Acts 9:3-6 on "Overcoming Parallel Blindness." Saul was committed to what he believed and was zealous in his belief. Saul's belief was flawed and Christ intervened. Saul was spiritually blind and did not understand the Old Testament really taught about Jesus, the Messiah. Many times, we as believers depend on our own righteousness and not the righteousness of God. Saul had a spiritual and natural encounter with Christ, but that did not equate to him being saved. When Saul fell to the ground, his unbelief and ignorance still remained. The conviction that Jesus was the One who he persecuted, brought him to know Jesus on a personal level and repent. Saul had to depend on others to get him to where God wanted him to be. This means we can't get saved by ourselves. We need others, who God has ordained to direct us in the things of God. We pray as you listen to this message, you will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of the areas in our life which keeps us blind to the things of God.

Being Open to the Spirit

Being Open to the Spirit

Bishop Rodgers continues in the Book of Acts in Chapter 8:26-40 about Philip's obedience. Philip was installed as a Deacon and he was full of the Holy Spirit. Because he was touch with the Holy Spirit, he was open to the Spirit's direction. This sensitivity to divine guidance, led him to becoming the "touch of God" to others. First, the Holy Spirit directed him through persecution to leave his ministry in Jerusalem and go to Samaria. Then, God led Philip to an Ethiopian, who was a eunuch and of a different race. Philip, without one single question being asked, got up and went. Philip obeyed and God handled the details. We pray as you listen to this powerful message on obedience, you will become sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and allow God to use you for His glory.

Sorcery, Superstition or Spiritual Power

Sorcery, Superstition or Spiritual Power

This week, Bishop teaches from Acts 8:9-24 on Simon the Sorcerer. Bishop defines sorcery, superstition and spiritual. Simon heard the Gospel, saw the miracles, professed Christ as his Savior and was even baptized, but his heart was not changed. Simon was a great influencer in his own way, but when he witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit, he desired the gift to further his own ambition. Simon was impressed with the visible effects of the laying on of hands, but not the supernatural to change one's heart. When Peter rebuked Simon, Simon wanted Peter to pray away the consequences of his sin. Simon was bound by years of deceiving people. When we are faced with a rebuke, do we react like Simon and fear the consequences or are we sincerely sorry for hurting the heart of God? We pray as you listen to this powerful message, you will search your heart and repent of any secret sin which has you bound. Today is the day of your deliverance.
