DAAC Executive Director Jerry Johnson interviews Braun Sheets, owner of Zo Audio, about the local music performance series he has created that is hosted on the 3rd floor of the Madden Arts Center. Upcoming Friday night performances are scheduled for June 17 and 24 and beyond.

Jerry and Jay chat about the realities of COVID-19 in relation to the Arts Council's biggest fundraiser of the year, Corks & Forks--which, due to the Illinois mandate to "self isolate" during the ongoing pandemic, will now take place as an online community event on April 30th!

Merry Christmas! Our holiday show "Christmastime in Soy City: A Rockin' Musical Review" was performed on Saturday, December 21st at the Decatur Civic Center, and here it is in all its slightly edited-for-time glory! The Decatur Area Arts Council teams with Millikin's Rock University to showcase a collection of Christmas songs that cover Rock n Roll, R&B, Blues, and so on. Sponsored by Neuhoff Media and Decatur Brew Works. We hope you enjoy!

Jay and Jerry discuss the upcoming fundraiser “Christmastime in Soy City: A Rockin’ Musical Review” which benefits the Decatur Area Arts Council and Millikin University’s Rock U program for young performers. They also chat about this year’s Downtown Christmas Walk, Christmas Card Lane, and several other musical offerings coming up around town.

Jay chats with DAAC Gallery Director Sue Powell about the upcoming Holiday Gift Shoppe in the Anne Lloyd Gallery at the Madden Arts Center. This re-imagining of the long running XMas ARTicles will run Nov 8 - Dec 28, and features wall to wall handmade art and fine crafts. "Gifty items," as Sue calls them-- unique items that when you see them you think, "oh, that would be PERFECT for so-and-so!" They discuss the nature of this pop-up shoppe, the impact it has on local artists, Sue's process for finding and working with artists and more.
