Deeply Rooted. A Web-Series on Mindset.

By Tony Wisdom

A live interview web-series that will get to the root of what drives people to be great. We will change the narrative on success. I believe that success is defined by the fruit bore from planting and tending to seeds, that one’s success is only determined by the effect they have on the world. I have reached out to the most successful people I know. I want to know what drives them, their greatest mistakes, their best advice, their secrets to success, and how all of that has shaped who they are today. The show will air live weekly featuring intimate one-on-one conversations.

This week’s guest is Alicia Rogers. Alicia is a tv news producer in Los Angeles, CA. She’s worked at news stations around the country from east coast to west coast and in between, including the Midwest where she’s from. She was born and raised in Lawrence, KS but always knew she was meant to leave and explore the world. Earlier this spring she handed over her “baby” and took over her news station’s afternoon shows to build those up. If asked to describe herself, Alicia would use the words ambitious and relentless. She welcomes failure if it will get her that much closer to success. She’s a single mom of three amazing kids and believes they’re some of the best motivation when it comes to chasing her dreams and teaching them to do the same. She also has a special place in her heart for the doubters and naysayers. In her free time Alicia loves to read, attend her kids sporting events, work out, and do DIY crafting of any kind. Her message to the world? If you don’t go for it, you’ll never know. And if you’ve never experienced failure, you’ll never truly value success.

He was an orphan in Guatemala in the process of being adopted by Iza’s sister. This tragedy inspired Iza to start the charity in his name. Today, Iza and her team run the charity from the OVI Children’s Hospital in Kenya.   Iza’s vision then and now is a world where no child is alone. She knows what works and sees it working every day. The next step is introducing this approach across Africa and Asia to end the orphan crisis and prevent poverty.   Iza Correll is an internationally acclaimed social entrepreneur, a dually licensed US Physician Assistant and Kenyan Clinical Officer, best selling author, and the youngest ever recipient of the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for Global Citizenship (among fellow laureates US President Jimmy Carter, Michael J Fox and Christina Aguilera)

Please join us in celebrating and giving some MUCH deserved flowers to the creator, innovator, levitator, host, visionary, leader, and seed…from which sprouted and grew the Deeply-Rooted podcast, web series, community, discussion group, social network, culture and vibe of the Deeply-Rooted tribe – my friend, Tony Wisdom…aka…Tony Gaines…aka…Don Dada of all things Deeply-Rooted.

A locally grown –LFK legend – who’s a father first in his personal life…community oriented, to say the least….and has dedicated himself to the pursuit of healing oneself, for the sole purpose of then being able to heal and help and show others the way, as well. Professionally, he spent 20 years in the music business as a Producer, Engineer, Label Owner, and Executive. Tony is self-taught and self-trained – both in music and in the tools to create it – learning via perseverance, dedication, and a crazy level work ethic. All of with,he provided himself the opportunity to work with industry heavyweights such as Berner, Raekwon, Shock G, Tech N9ne, Rich the Factor, J Diggs, Young Buck, as well as,a slew of other artists.

After many moons in the music industry, there came a point in life where Tony felt there to be a greater need or calling. His wish was to know the answers that can help you figure out what to do with your life or understand who you are and how you want to roll as a person.  Amassing a lot of information – via an insane reading habit he picked up, as well as, lots and lots of networking and speaking to peeps from all around the world in an attempt to gather and understand new perspectives - and then utilizing this information to form a more concrete view of himself and in turn, the world around him.  After which, gaining a better understanding of how life works – what is needed and not needed to have inner peace, be happy, feel cleansed, vibrate higher…aka…all the good stuff.

Feeling the need to achieve balance between heart and mind…to experience healing, cleansing, and soothing of the soul, in order to obtain greater creativity, deeper awareness, a death of ego and one day, enlightenment…is what drives and is the core motivation for this week’s guest, our Deeply-Rooted creator and host, Tony Wisdom Gaines.  Fueled by a strong desire to excel…to keep challenging himself to be better and to keep raising his own personal bar of excellence….Tony is and always will be game for anything – forever aggressive when it comes to opportunities and his pursuit of them – all that ‘type A’ behavior and flair, while still naturally able to attune to the moods and emotions of others…organically, able to see, hear, and feel what others don’t – AKA – The Magic that is Tony Wisdom Gaines.

With this incredible innate ability of seeing the future he wants to achieve almost as if it were in the present….that right there, is Law of Attraction in the most profound sense.  Tony is the perfect example of explosive dynamism and charisma – determined and focused – but at the same time humane and benevolent, always working for the greater good.

A self-defined God-fearing father of three, who – despite adversities faced – did not allow the conditions in which he grew up, detour or define him.

Success, as defined by Brandon = ‘being carefree…getting up and getting to do what I want to do’…an on point - goal oriented - mindset, which has been most beneficial in life…as reflected in his next level bounce backgame, in regards to rejection.  After years in the music industry, as well as, various other projects – Brandon had a vision – which no one else could see…buuuuuut being who he is at his core – aka – the magic that is him….he pushed the fuck thru. Never giving up - never giving in - never for once, giving away his power via second guessing himself or succumbing to the all shade being thrown his way.  Eventually – as it most often does when rolling with slay the day level perseverance…it all paid off and in turn, allowed Brandon “B-Will” Williams to take his vision from ‘I’ve got an idea’ to four years later…BOOM….opening E-Sports KC, in Shawnee, KS.  The entire time open = 100% drama free…a unicorn of an accomplishment, for sure.

EP204 “Be honest with yourself” - Daniel ‘Dank’ Martin

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 4 of Deeply-Rooted. This week’s featured guest is the poster child for what it means to make one's life their own…and to have the ability to write their own next chapter. EP203 “Success ain’t only based on self esteem, it takes the sense to differentiate what’s your and some else’s dreams” – Brandon Crowson

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 3 of Deeply-Rooted.  This week’s featured guest is the homie Brandon Crowson…a Jedi level force with the type of energy you want to marinate in. Professionally, he is a self-made freelance video producer, currently working on his second film - personally, he is a self proclaimed story teller. Perfectly managing to mesh the two, Brandon has created a world for himself in which his personal authentic self and his professional side continuously complement and enhance the other, on cycle. Although, Brandon claims it is stubbornness that drives him…it’s evident in how he rolls – self motivating, self taught, self reflective – and in his willingness to be open and creatively vulnerable in expression…that seems to be behind what truly fuels him. Simply put, it is his core self – the passion that is him, who he is at his core, his light…and please believe, it’s majestic af.

The way in which Brandon’s brain wraps itself around the world and in turn, reflects its findings back is beyond impressive.  It is a big phat WIN for neurodivergence, for sure.  Moving the Overton Window to the left and an Eyedea Lyric Billboard…this dude’s unique - in the most authentically simple, yet brilliant way possible.

For Christian, the definition of success is simple…getting paid to do whatever it is you wanna do - doesn’t matter how much it pays - if you get to get up on a daily basis and can’t wait to get to work, truly excited to be there…no clock watching involved…that’s success. Rolling like a modern day Renaissance man - Christian’s list of personal, as well as, professional achievements is long, diverse, and spot on, mirrors his ‘it’s not what you say, it’s what you do’ mindset and mantra. EP201 “Live Intentionally, Not Habitually” – Wayne Jackson

EP201 “Live Intentionally, Not Habitually” – Wayne Jackson

SEASON TWO PREMIER Y’ALL!!!  NO words can express how excited, happy, and beyond grateful we are to have you all rolling with us on our Deeply-Rooted Mission - kill the ego, ignite the soul…ultimately defining the vibe of the tribe. We appreciate you all for being a part of the Deeply-Rooted tribe and by bringing your ‘you’, we thank you for helping us to define the vibe. With that said…

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 1 of Deeply-Rooted. Can’t think of a better way to start this season off than with this week’s guest….LFK business owner and good friend of the show…Wayne Jackson. Professionally, Wayne found success in business after establishing Go Hard Training in 2009, but it is his definition of success on an intimate level…the ability to maintain an even balance to all areas in life, although hard, to not allow one area in life to take away from another and in general, to be a better person…that speaks to who Wayne is at his core.

That being said…when asked what drives Wayne Jackson the most, without hesitation, his reply = his wife and daughter…providing the PERFECT segway to give a MUCH deserved shout out to wife Adrianne – a KICK ASS doing the damn thing entity of her own – and daughter January….a beautiful family who has persevered, fought through the shit, and are still here…talking GOAL LEVEL partnership. Without Adrianne - quote/unquote - Wayne Jackson, simply wouldn’t look the same.

ALLLLLLLL that being said, it is Wayne’s desire to leave a personal legacy in which others can build off of...to provide a place in which another can grow from and better themselves in some way – be it physically, emotionally, financially, personally, however – clearly shows the inner magic that is authentically him.

I meeeaan….A Billboard we didn’t see coming + Q/A on Baby Oil + Shout-Outs + A new vocabulary word + A guest with a mindset disciplined for success and a laser focus on forever persevering - who had the courage to toss what was known, creating instead a personal philosophy and system of his own in which to roll by = A Can’t Beat – Can’t Miss - Combo of a SEASON TWO PREMIERE.  No diggity, no doubt.

Buckle up….we’re going deep.

EP108 “Be Free” - Anthony Hunter Savington *SEASON FINALE*

EP108 “Be Free” - Anthony Hunter Savington *SEASON FINALE*

Welcome to Season One, Episode 8 of Deeply-Rooted – AKA - our FIRST EVER Season Finale!!!

Thank you for rolling with us all season – our FIRST EVER Season Finale guest is – the man, the myth, the legend - Anthony “Savage Family” Hunter. Anthony’s music career – as part of an organization called the Savage Family – started off less about the music and much more about challenging the ongoing genocide of his people. For Anthony, music is simply a tool with a wide reach – a means to an end - utilized to get his message across. The target audience = youth.

Self-described “Agent of Chaos” – Anthony’s goal is to insight thought…thought that keeps his people in a position to being imprisoned - to be an agent of chaos. If you think of a whirlpool…how you deal with what gets pulled into that, how you bring in all challenges, how you move with those things and then utilize them to create change is to be an “Agent of Chaos” – for Anthony “Savage Family” Hunter Savington, this how success is defined.

Big picture thinking….authentically self-less in thought, action, desire, and goals…who’s billboard would read “Be Free”…a statement which holds tremendously deep meaning, as explained by our FIRST EVER Season Finale via our guest, Anthony “Savage Family” Hunter Savington.

Buckle up…we’re going deep.

Welcome to Season One, Episode Seven of Deeply-Rooted. This week’s episode is dedicated to Willie Dotson – your impact is felt – when the world counted you out, you wrote your own chapter.

In honor of Willie, that’s spot on, what we’re gonna do….via introducing this week’s guest, Frank “X-Dash” Hensley. Frank is NEXT LEVEL passionate – he RE-DEFINES what it means to be persistent...to persevere – which is fully fueled by an abundance of energy infused with love. All traits which provided him the drive needed to start putting pen to paper at a young age and create an amaaaazing successful career, world, and experience for himself.

Being a BIG BELIEVER of success being an undefinable, intangible thing – it is Frank’s perspective that success is very personal, it’s something you have to make up for yourself…it being something inside you – a very intimate and individual to you sort of thing…and once you figure that out, hold tight and don’t take no for an answer. Not even joking…simply listening to Frank speak of his passions and perspectives and mindset….is like hanging with an inspirational poster. A breath of much needed fresh air – his energy is most definitely felt and beyond contagious.

Frank “X-Dash” Hensley’s impact wish = to be a vehicle, a conduit, a supporter of projects – to impact those cultures that surround the movements that make the changes….I mean, who wouldn’t wanna hang out with this dude?!?

EP106 “Be Happy” – Daric “DJ Daric B” Bergersen

EP106 “Be Happy” – Daric “DJ Daric B” Bergersen

Welcome to Season One, Episode Six of Deeply-Rooted. This week’s guest has a bio that screams ‘takes action’ – in regards to his career, from DVDs to DJing to promotions to the distribution side of it – Daric “DJ Daric B” Bergersen – has a resume which clearly reads as someone who’s not scared to take a shot.

Sprinkle that with an old soul who defines a ‘failure’ as a stepping stone – simply, step one in the process…a word never to be utilized to describe oneself or an action tried. A can’t beat combo, for sure.

The frequency at which Daric’s energy vibrates is off the charts good and can literally be felt as you listen to him speak…his be happy, put your mask on first mentality – forgiveness of self and the ego to the simple genius of rolling with a ‘just try shit’ mindset - Daric “DJ Daric B” Bergersen drops nothing but jewels…aka…leaving prophets and roadmaps.

EP105 “Art & Impact” – Sean “Approach” Hunt

EP105 “Art & Impact” – Sean “Approach” Hunt

Welcome to Season One, Episode Five of Deeply-Rooted. This week’s guest – coming straight from Lawrence, KS – my personal favorite Lawrence producer, Sean “Approach” Hunt.

A real deal Holyfield advocate of all things LFK – a family man and a true community-oriented individual – Sean’s “Approach” at life is never to chase notoriety, rather the pursuit of simply being a good person…first and foremost….after which, all things will fall into place as they should. Just as refreshing, are Sean’s views of inner-success, knocking down goals, and what he considers ‘’stick to your ribs” important in life.

Authentic to the core – Sean “Approach” Hunt - breaks it down…the state of the world, our lack of/inability for human-to-human interaction, society's failure in embracing our women, trusting who you are at your core and the purity of expressing it, changing the clock, leading by example, the art of ‘stepping back’, and soooooo much more.

A multi-chill inflicting listening experience, for sure. Buckle up…we’re going deep.

EP102 "I. Got. Goals...I got goals” - James “Casanova” Hawkins

Welcome to Season One, Episode Two of Deeply-Rooted. This week’s featured guest is the one and only....James “Casanova” Hawkins.

Self-described ‘genuine hustler with goals’ - from music to real estate - James has found success in his career and in his entrepreneurial ventures, yet it is his humble definition of success that sets him apart and keeps him vibing higher than most. Simply put...success is obtaining the goals set for yourself - no matter what those goals are - if achieved, then you’re successful.
