From a Buddhist lay minister in Oxford MS, a resource for people cultivating the 8-Fold Path, religious minorities who are contemplative by nature, or those just curious about Buddhism. An ordained Dharmacharya of the Embracing Simplicity Contemplative Order of Heartwood Refuge in Hendersonville NC, host Christie Bates was raised in AL (Birmingham, Decatur, Sheffield, Mobile), educated in TN (Memphis, Nashville) and relocated to Oxford in 2018. She and her friend Jaya Seeley, an OI in the Plum Village Tradition, co-facilitate the Deep South Dharma Oxford Practice Group.
