In the second episode of the DEMOS podcast, project researchers Attila Bartha and Dorottya Szikra, from the Centre for Social Sciences in Budapest (CSS), discuss preliminary findings of the DEMOS project with Balázs Fekete (CSS), and explain how DEMOS studied the role of technocratic governments in triggering populism and what policies could address the issues stemming from it.

Populism, a complex political phenomenon, may impact society and democratic institutions in multiple ways. To discuss the relationship between #populism and the #judiciary, DEMOS communications manager, Vinicius Gorczeski, and Balázs Fekete, researcher at the Centre for Social Sciences in Budapest, invited two special guests to explain how populism has changed the legal and media landscapes in Romania and Hungary: Alexandra Mercescu, from the West University of Timisoara in Romania and Bea Bakó, a journalist covering the Hungarian judiciary for the Azonnali.
