What will it take for others to understand not only the power but also the fragility of the black woman?  Where is the Kingdom of God in this scenario?

My opinion about the relationship and the intersection of faith, and power; trauma and celebration as the Senate confirmation hearings go forth for this nominee to the Supreme Court.  

The war in Ukraine; the economy; the violence; political posturing; Covid-19 impact...Can you believe what's happening? How do we get through this? 

There is an answer.  

Here it is. Another request, another change.  You have to pivot, when you want to stand still particularly when there are more questions than answers. Time seems to be running out, and there's no one to pick it up for you.  But wait. The answer is right before you even during those times of discovery, disbelief and uncertainty.  It is in those times when you have to stand.  The surest strategy is maintaining a relationship with God. Some people promote work-life balance as if you can pick it up at Starbucks. However, our chance for stability is grounded in focus on God.  The writer of Philippians said being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 states... "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." The Stakes are High, but they have always been.  We are reaching for the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus.  

Wow. God loves me this I know.  Do I really think God loves me knowing what I am and what I've done?

The answer can be found in John 3:16. It is in Chapter 3 of the epistle of John that the apostle tells the reader and seeker the depth of God's love for us.  Want to know?

We have a mandate to follow Matthew 22:37-39. Love God and Love our neighbor.

In the middle of trauma, war, situations, we are to love. 

Pray for Ukraine and Russian people and their leaders. Pray for Salvation.

"See the faithfulness of divine love" wrote Spurgeon.  This meditation written by Charles H. Spurgeon is a beautiful reminder of the infinite riches of God even during the worst of times.  

Matthew 22:37-39 tells us to love the Lord your God with everything and to love others as yourself.  This is a challenge, sometimes a daily one. But we are to love the unlovable including ourselves.  In the midst of conflict, love will always be the answer.  As we pray for Ukraine, and other nations, our prayers need to be centered and grounded in Matthew 22.  Love is the first and greatest commandment.

The invasion of the nation of Ukraine by Russian forces prompted a call to pray.

One year ago the world was shut down due to a pandemic.  In the middle of the shutdown, through the darkness, there was still light just as it was back over 2000 years ago. Good Friday means light is shining upon us and for us...Jesus Christ.

Asking why questions in the amid the horror of mass shooting. Consider if you will how Christ rejoice in the garden and his path to Calvary.  Luke 10:21 said, "In that hours Jesus rejoiced in spirit."

FAITH OVER FEAR: COVID-19 RESPONSE

Faith, hope, love and caring...these words and this mindset must be part of our narrative during this season.  Others locked into despair and fear need to see how we as Christians stand in our belief that this too shall pass.  Psalm 91 and 1 Corinthians 13 is shared as prayers to encourage others to believe that God's love will prevail.

How do we respond in a crisis?  The Conoravirus COVID-19 is a pandemic.  A National Emergency has been called.  School, sporting events and social gathering cancelled. Panic at grocery stores, testing kits and medical devices in short supply. State and national leaders are rushing to address this very real challenge.  What should be the response of Christians?

God does provide daily.  We have all we need in Him, no matter what happens. God provides.
