"a little bit moore" is a podcast brought to us by the mind of Derek K. Moore, a comedian/actor based out of the small state of Rhode Island. A former radio DJ from 92PRO FM describes it as, "if college radio had a podcast about ADHD." Armed with stories, sketches and custom sound bytes; all bets are off when it's Derek vs The Mic!
For the first episode of 2020, I decided to try something I haven't done on the podcast and that's hit record with no notes or guideline for an episode. I would do this at open mics when I first started in comedy while attempting to create material for the stage. Some week's "winging it" was all I had and it led to some of my first laughs. Probably not the greatest approach for a podcast, but feel free to tune in and see for yourself! I ended up sharing my NYE night, the disconnect between fame and going viral, my thoughts on the current "war" happening between the US & Iran, I share a big risk I took at a recent audition and for the first time ever; the Right Side & Left Side of my brain un-intentionally make an appearance to end the episode.
They say third time is a charm and luckily for me, the third recording of this episode was the keeper! In the 10th episode of "a little bit moore," I share my "Resolution Theory" and what you can do to make a more attainable list of New Year's Resolutions. No sound clips, no bullshit, just a short & sweet episode to end the debut year of this podcast. Thank you to everyone who has tuned in and I hope you enjoy the episode!
The holiday season creates one of the most stressful times for a lot of us when it comes to finances. So how does someone without a 9-5 maintain paying all bills and expenses in a world where all of us are struggling? In this episode, I share some tips and tricks for not coming unhinged when it comes to the almighty dollar. Behind on bills? Is the struggle all too real? Tune into this episode and find out how you can get a better grasp on your debts and finances!
The latest episode of "a little bit moore" is a first for the podcast; I discuss pop culture! Well sort of. Not that I wanted to, but between everyone not shutting up about either TIME magazine's Person of The Year or what a Lizz-bian they all are; I couldn't help but hit record due to all the chaos.
This episode is a totally different feel/sound from what we're used to on "a little bit moore" and is as real as it gets. In this episode, I share what most would call "my story." A recent breakdown caused me to have some serious self reflection. I explain how my struggles with addiction and a depleted mental health eventually led to a better place, but not without effort and internal battles. We all have rough days and hard times, but not everyone is able to hold onto hope when it becomes too much. This very reason is why I decided to share my darkest of times. My hope is that maybe by sharing these stories, it can help someone else who is struggling. Thank you in advance for listening to this episode ❤️
It's "a little bit moore's" first pseudo-holiday episode! This episode is split into two separate halves due to the fact that I had to work retail on Black Friday. On the first half of the episode, I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving while my spirits are still high and stresses the importance of one's health around the holidays. I cite my own health struggles over the last year as examples of why we all need to keep our health in check. The second half of the episode has a bit of a different feel to it as I record the 2nd half following the Black Friday madness. "a little bit moore" goes from grateful to Grinch in under an hour; so tune in and listen to me lose my mind!
In this episode of "a little bit moore," I share why I think the movie I'm working on was haunted, what scares me the most, people losing their minds over Disney+, delve deep into the world of entrepreneurship through sharing my own experiences with "being your own boss" and much more! Will one of my sound bytes get me sued? Tune in and find out!
On this episode, I explain why there was a good reason for the podcast not being released on it's usual schedule, talk my indifference with understanding the attraction to parkour, I describe the worst type of New England Patriots fan, give my beard a well earned eulogy and much more!
In this episode, I'm back with a batch of new sound clips as I'm running on fumes after a hectic week. I break down the mental game of the auditioning process and delve into the importance of gratitude after seeing some "interesting posts" on social media.
In this episode I talk drinking on Halloween, how parenting has changed since I was a kid and how I was recently introduced to the world of Harry Potter. Listen to my brain frantically try to recall all the details of the Harry Potter series after seeing the films only once. If you're a fan of the world of Hogwarts, this could either be the greatest or worst thing you have ever heard!
In the first episode of "a little bit moore," I introduce myself to the podcast world, discuss podcasts of old, why the social media app Tik Tok isn't going anywhere and recap my recent stretch of shows on the road. Thank you for listening!
