Meet Kiley Summers of SpenDebt!

Kiley Summers is an entrepreneur and champion for equity and inclusion for black and brown founders.  He, himself, is the Founder of SpenDebt, a financial technology company whose mission is to save one million people from financial fatalities every time they swipe their debit card or have a banking transaction.  Kiley and his wife became debt free paying off over $140K+ of consumer debt.  They quickly noticed the growing problem of consumer debt and was encouraged to help others become financially healthy through behavior economics.

Meet Dr. Obari Cartman and Welcome to Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this week we talked to Dr. Obari Cartman who is an African American Male Psychologist. He spent some time giving us his thoughts on Mental Health, tips on selecting a mental health professional, and what needs to be down to dispel the stigma around mental health within the culture. Dr. Cartman is a father, son, brother, uncle, thinker, writer, therapist, photographer, drummer, and grassroots mental health advocate. Dr. Cartman has served as a professor of psychology at Georgia State University and the Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies at Northeastern University. He wrote a critically acclaimed book for young Black men about manhood and relationships which was recently expanded into a hip-hop based cultural identity rites of passage curriculum called MANifest that is being implemented in juvenile detention centers, schools and in private community settings.
