The Business Value of UX
User Experience, or UX for short, is the term used to describe an innovation process that uses a deep understanding of user needs to help create products and services that provide meaningful experiences to our customers. UX uses a set of design methods to unlock actionable insights that help to define products. It takes these insights to design and develop the behavior of the products we create, organize the workflow for interacting with them, and to connect them with our brand.  User experiences are created in stages over the course of a product’s development. UX teams engage end-users to discover insights; they design and prototype concepts and work them into detailed solutions; they implement the final product and evaluate how customer and users respond to release after release. Every product requires its own approach based on local constraints, but these stages represent a healthy UX process that can bring exceptional user experiences to life. 8 Ways to Be a More Effective Project Manager
In this episode Ryan discusses 8 ways to be a more effective project manager. The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals within the given constraints. This information is usually described in project documentation, created at the beginning of the development process. The primary constraints are scope, time, quality and budget. The secondary – and more ambitious – challenge is to optimize the allocation of necessary inputs and apply them to meet pre-defined objectives. 80/20 Rule - Pareto Principle for Designers
The 80/20 rule, also known as the Pareto Principle, states that 80% of results in a system come from 20% of the causes. Its origins stem back to Vilfredo Pareto, an economist who noticed 80% of Italy's land was owned by 20% of the population.  The original observation was in connection with population and wealth. Pareto noticed that approximately 80% of Italy's land was owned by 20% of the population. He then carried out surveys on a variety of other countries and found to his surprise that a similar distribution applied. Let's be friends. Connect with us - @Ryan.Warrender & @BrandonGroce. A Full Breakdown of the UX Process End To End
A UX design process typically follows something similar to a design thinking approach, which consists of five basic phases: Empathize with the users (learning about the audience) Define the problem (identifying the users' needs) Ideate (generating ideas for design). The UX process is an iterative method which helps you to continuously improve and polish your designs with user feedback. Also, one thing you should know is: A UX process can be different from one UX designer to another, organization to organization and sometimes depending on the project.  Let's be friends. First impressions matter.  Mobile users are very goal-oriented and super impatient. Avoid distracting a user from their goals. Keep your homepage and top landing pages simple. Be sure to have a clear call-to-action and a value proposition above the fold. A user should know what to do and why they should stay on your website in a moment’s glance.   Instagram: @Ryan.Warrender & @BrandonGroce Support this Podcast: bit.ly/support-designhuddle Recommended Reading: Don't Make Me Think  Send us feedback and help us become the Best UX Podcast - designhuddlepodcast@gmail.com The opinions stated here are our own, not those of our companies.
