We have a new dynasty on our hands, ladies and gents. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have now won three Super Bowls in five seasons, and this one might arguably be their best win of them all! Plus: NBA trade deadline moves and All Star rosters that caught our attention, why a football game in Brazil just feels like asking for trouble and what to look forward to in the 2025 NFL season! Oh, and don’t forget Usher too! It’s a brand new Super Bowl edition of the Play-By-Play Analysis podcast!

“Middle America’s” Dream Super Bowl

From an all-white backfield and Nick Bosa in San Fran to a brewing dynasty in the middle of Missouri featuring Taylor Swift, this is the Super Bowl that Middle America could only dream of 😂 Plus: The Milwaukee Bucks can’t decide on a head coach, Bill Belichick proving why the older generation’s resistance to change is their undoing, Palestine’s soccer team makes history and why a Super Bowl in Paris would be must-see television (stick with this for a sec 😂) It’s a hilariously unhinged episode of the Play-By-Play Analysis!

Jerry Jones So Sick of Y’all 😂

The Cowboys literally broke their fanbase. The Dolphins can’t be trusted in below-freezing temps. The Lions got one for the city. All our goats are walking away. A basketball court in the airport in Indianápolis. What a week it’s been. It’s a new episode of the Play-By-Play Analysis podcast!

Naysayers In Paris

Naysayers In Paris

Jalen Milroe wanted to let a naysayer know, but those naysayers at Michigan weren’t rocking. And while we’re on the subject, that naysayer Michael Penix, Jr. is a baaaad man 😂 The Cowboys escaped the unthinkable, the Eagles have gotten exposed and the Ravens keep obliterating everybody! And with this being the first pod of 2024 we share some Ignant resolutions (hint hint)! It’s the first Play-By-Play Analysis of the new year!

New Year, New Me (Same Me Though!)

New Year, New Me (Same Me Though!)

Damar Hamlin. Brittney Griner’s detainment. Israel and Palestine. The Brawl at the riverboat in Montgomery, Alabama. From the rise in popularity of women’s sports to the craze that was Barbenheimer, from strikes in Hollywood, the auto industry and beyond that taught us the power of worker solidarity to Americans trying to play the moral high ground on Saudi Arabian sports washing (Even though that was never going to hold any weight), we take a final look at 2023 in its entirety as we close the chapter and enter the new year! Special shout-out to all of those who lent their voices as guest stars, and a big thank you to all those who have listened week in and week out! See you on the other side!

Watch The World Burn

Watch The World Burn

If I’m a Florida State fan right now then it’s “F**k Boo Corrigan, f**k Bama, f**k the CFP Committee as a staff, record label and as a motherf**kin’ crew!” The Niners made a statement and the Chiefs are like a black parent telling kids directions: They’re not gonna repeat. Henry Kissinger is dead, which means hell got its next 5-star prospect, and we’re taking a trip down memory lane as the SEC says goodbye to CBS. We discuss this all in the newest episode of the Play-By-Play Analysis!

Sam Howell’s Fighting for His F**king Life!

You can donate to help those affected in Gaza here: irusa.org/middle-east/palestine/ The Commanders stink. The Chargers stink. The Bills are frauds. The Niners are suspect. Free Palestine: Black and Palestinian Solidarity

—“We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians” - Nelson Mandela — Black people around the world have a lot more in common with Palestine than we realize. As their ongoing conflict with Israel has once again made international headlines, I sat down with a friend of Palestinian descent to discuss the conflict’s origins, what it has to do with us as Black Americans and it’s connection to some of the most notable Black and Brown resistance movements throughout history. This is a very special Play-By-Play Analysis that I hope you don’t miss!

This Ain’t The Reagan Administration

This Ain’t The Reagan Administration

It’s a special two guest episode!! Sports media love them a good “Overcoming adversity” ass story and don’t let it involve overcoming drug abuse (Looking at YOU, Darren Waller). But this show is here to challenge that trope, as well as to talk about the craziness that was Week 1 of the NFL season. Plus: Why do Power 5 schools keep testing Appalachian State’s gangsta? And what did Texas players do to make Alabama fans that mad? We answer these questions and a lot more in the newest episode of the Play-By-Play Analysis!

It’s just one game, but Colorado is putting folks on notice and we’re here to discuss, along with everything else that went down in Week 1 in college football. Jordan Poole is now in Pretty Girl County so we know he's putting up 35 a night, and the Phoenix Suns still suck at team-building. 0-150: Sucks to Suck, Boston

0-150: Sucks to Suck, Boston

They didn't make it easy on themselves, but the Miami Heat managed to avoid making history against the Celtics and instead punched their ticket to the NBA Finals, meaning teams trailing 3-0 in an NBA series are now 0-150 all-time. We discuss why all the people complaining about how uncompelling this Finals matchup between Miami and Denver is are full of it, why there aren't more black people in hockey and whether this is the beginning of the end for the dynasty in the Bay. Also, Jimmy Butler does the most Jimmy Butlerest thing possible, and where the Celtics go from here. And shoutout to Drake on the intro because I'm sure Jimmy Cooks will be getting quite the streaming boost over the next few weeks thanks to No.22 in Red and white. As a fellow writer I want to say shout out to all the writers currently on strike in Hollywood; we’re the backbone of this industry. And also, it’s fuck the British monarchy and everything they stand for over here. All that and more on the newest episode of the Play-By-Play Analysis!

NBA Youngboy or A Young Boy in the NBA?

NBA Youngboy or A Young Boy in the NBA?

Ja, you gotta chill bro.

From Morant to Jalen Carter and others, we got a message to the youngins: Y'all gotta make better decisions. We accept dumb but we can't tolerate stupidity. Also:

The main thing we would change about the NCAA tournament on the eve of another highly-anticipated March Madness, white folks having the audacity per usual and the surprising (and not-so-surprising) survey results from the NFL's first ever teams report card. We discuss it all in the return of the Play-By-Play Analysis!

African-Americans Plus Mark

African-Americans Plus Mark

We've got an all-black Super Bowl! Well, sort of. We've got a bunch of African Americans, plus...MARK (And in Patrick Mahomes's case he's both African-American AND Mark)!!

The Play-By-Play Analysis returns to discuss the historic first Super Bowl between two teams led by black quarterbacks in the Eagles and Chiefs, and how they both got here. We've got some words on that Tyre Nichols video and how it feels to be black men in America, and why more police has never equated to anything productive. We also have to understand why the Empire State Building is lit up in Eagles colors, why any HBCU would offer a scholarship to a white kid that said the N-word and...get this...how Jamal ended up sumo-wrestling on a Saturday night (You gotta listen to get that story). We're back and got some words

Jan 31, 202301:14:35
We Got Time Today

We Got Time Today

We got some words today.

We've got some words on the NFL postseason and what we expect this weekend. We've got words on the NBA's crowded MVP race.

We've got words on Ron DeSantis and his trash ass administration's continued attacks on anybody that ain't straight, white and Christian. We got words for Ed Reed's rant, and words for those that don't care to have a nuanced conversation surrounding the plight of HBCU athletics today.

We've got words for anybody that'll listen. We've got time today.

Got Beat Like They Stole Somethin'

TCU got a Joe Jackson style ass-whooping, so we're here to set the record straight about Georgia, TCU and those teams hating from outside the club (Looking at you, Bama fans). Also: The NFL Playoff games and why the neutral game concept might be here to stay, the Houston Texans are a hot ass mess and what Reggie Bush and Critical Race Theory have in common (Just hear me out on this one). Prayers for Damar

Prayers for Damar

Just a week into 2023, we're already off to a crazy start. Following a scary incident Monday in which Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed and had to receive CPR on the football field, we discuss how the incident has affected those of us watching as well as the NFL community at large, and we have some words for the people looking to get reactions out of people with their ill-timed responses. Also:

Why these college football playoffs were the best ones yet and why TCU isn't to be overlooked, a very calm and collected reaction to the Commanders' latest embarrassment and what Benedict Cumberlatch, reparations, Barbados and the Antebellum Avengers have to do with each other...trust me you'll see.

It's the very first Play-By-Play Analysis of the New Year!

2022 Was A Moment

2022 Was A Moment

2022 was quite the year. The state of Mississippi had the eyes of the country on it like never before from the dominance of Jackson State and Deion Sanders to Brett Favre stealing welfare money to the untimely passing of Mike Leach. There was the Russian invasion of Ukraine and all the outrage (Real and fake) that came with it. The passing of icons like Bill Russell and Pele, and the much more controversial Queen Elizabeth. There was the conviction of Tory Lanez, the continued downfall of Kanye and Kyrie and the Nets putting their foot in their mouths per usual. Oh, and Matthew Stafford finally won a Super Bowl. We discuss all that made 2022 stand out, and what we hope for 2023! Happy New Year from the Play-By-Play Analysis!

F*** the Giants

F*** the Giants

No, I haven't gotten over it. Yes, I'm probably doing too much. Also yes, this was one of the drunkest sports weekends ever.

There was the greatest HBCU football game I've seen in person, there was the all-timer of a championship finish in Qatar, and there was a weekend full of wild NFL finishes from a 33-0 comeback to one of the most bizzare pitchbacks you'll see in an NFL game. We discuss it all and more on the newest episode of the Play-By-Play Analysis!

Also, non-American football because shoutout to Morocco, Messi, all the Niggas in Paris (IYKYK) and Croatia. Britney Griner is free whether you like it or not, Aaron Judge is a Yankee for life somehow, and we're coming up with bowl game names (We'll see if they stick or not). All this and more on the newest episode of the Play-By-Play Analysis!

Dec 13, 202201:34:45
COLORADO?!

COLORADO?!

It's time to talk about Deion Sanders, because we got some stuff to get off our chests.

Also: Why are there still ties in the NFL? Why can't Lincoln Riley win big games? Will Michigan and Ohio State meet for a rematch? And who even deserves to win the Heisman at this point? We ask all these questions and more on the newest episode of the Play-By-Play Analysis!
