407: Apple's App Tracking Transparency
In iOS 14.5 Apple rolled out the feature they debuted last year, App Tracking Transparency. Meaning that if an app wants to use your personal information to track you, you must explicitly allow it. Facebook and others are upset and they can be as this is great for the consumer. Why is asking a bad thing? Only when your business model is nefarious and you think it's your right to gobble up as much about us as you can for free. Not anymore, I encourage everyone to never allow an app to track you again. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Let's continue our discussion! 406: Why do content creators seem to want your money?
Patreon, YouTube memberships, soon to be Twitter super follows -- these are all ways to give back to your favorite subscribers. Honestly, we should be trying to limit our monthly micropayments, with that being said -- Why can't platforms such as YouTube that earn billions of dollars per year in revenue share more of that with the creators that have placed the platform where it is today instead of forcing consumers to fit the bill? Meh, capitalism. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Let's continue our discussion!
