In today's episode I reconnect with Sarah Young from Spirited Places for part two of her podcast series on intuition development. Sarah is a powerful psychic medium who offers incredible readings for people needing or wishing to learn more about their life path, those who want to connect with loved ones who have passed, and those who might simply need guidance of variable forms. Sarah even offers site visits for those who wish to understand and gain clarity around the spirits they coexist with on their land or homes and offers sacred paintings on the land as well.

This episode is part two in a two part episode where we first talk about Sarah, her offerings, and what it is like to get a reading from her. We also talk about intuitive development and ways to begin working with your intuition and connecting with your guides more. In part two we dive into the many Clairs, the different senses you may have that are unique to your own psychic gifts. How they work and feel, as well as our own experiences and helpful tools and tips to continue strengthening your own intuition.

In the spirit of the thinning veil in October through Samhain and Halloween, we thought we would come together and share some of our experiences with spirits and ghosts of places. In this episode we share our stories, talk about what it was like as a child to come to the realization that spirits are real. We touch upon some themes around this kind of work as psychics such as, energetic imprints of a place, spirits that dwell, those who need help moving into the spirit world after death, our living and spirit guides who walk us through this work, as well as tips, tools, and boundary work as practitioners who perceive both the physical and spirit world.

In this episode my intention was to check in with you all and give you some updates on the upcoming apothecary restock and classes here at Mountain Hollow. As it seems I also shared a very personal journey that I have been on all summer long, including a potent experience with a dream that directly connects to my struggles with my health. This time of year offers and opening to the subconscious that I love to talk about and share because there is so much inner power and healing that can be obtained during this shifting process.  I hope this episode brings you some new insight to your own capabilities and wisdom as well as make the little hairs on your arms stand up. Today I had the distinct pleasure of speaking to and learning from Megan Matthers, owner and head Clinical Herbalist at Heart Hand Land Apothecary in Northern Vermont.

Megan is a clinically trained herbalist, medicine maker and conscious wild crafter. She grew up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada’s where she spent many years exploring the bio regions of Northern California, Nevada and the mountain west. She now resides on Abenaki land in Northeastern Vermont with her family. Megan runs Heart Hand Land, an herbal apothecary that fills formulas for practitioners, provides educational opportunities and is growing into so much more. Megan’s goal within her community is to use herbalism to promote health and create stronger community, build trust in ourselves, our neighbors, and the natural world right outside our doors.

In todays episode we talk about what clinical herbalism is, why its important, and what Megan is offering to her community locally and from afar.

In this episode I talk about Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) and all of the amazing ways this plant is such a good herbal ally for so many of us. My journey with Motherwort came at the most needed time, after a deeply disturbing experience I had with a dark energy on land in the most unassuming place. I talk about this without going into too much depth and rather spoke more about how Motherwort supported me strongly during such a traumatic moment.

I also touch upon whats been in the works here at Mountain Hollow, new offers in the shop, the upcoming in person gathering schedule, and my observations on working with my interns and this deep work with plants. 

In this episode I speak with Saturn Roblee who offers incredible support through the childbearing year, intuitive coaching, prenatal & postnatal yoga, moon cycle support and community support to new families. Saturn covers a variety of important things in her incredible offerings so we tried to touch upon some important issues in the current time as well as her story in how she came to this particular work in her community. This discussion is very important to me, as I myself have grief around so many of these experiences that has gone untouched, unshared, and unprocessed. There is such a lack of guidance for women as we walk the journey to childbearing, birth, and so many of the experiences that come with this. As women we move through so many rites of passage and I just truly admire Saturn's work in supporting us all.

In this episode I had the wonderful privilege of speaking to Lea Mahoney. Lea is a womb and Abdominal Massage Therapist based in Burlington, Vermont who has been practicing bodywork since 2012, and has been studying holistic health for over a decade. Lea is certified in Massage Therapy, Ayurvedic Health Counseling, Maya Abdominal Therapy, Holistic Pelvic Care™, and is currently in training on Innate Postpartum Care.

Lea is passionate about working with the sacred womb-space (whether the womb is physically present, or energetically) to create a container of safe, grounded healing. Through her work she is committed to supporting women, throughout all of their life cycles. Her goal is to hold space for them while they to get to know themselves and come back home into their bodies.

In this episode I get to talk about Burdock (Arctium lappa) and all of the amazing ways this plant is such a good herbal ally for so many of us. I enjoyed my plant meditation with Burdock so much, the green emerald color of the tea from the roots, the super unique energy and curiosity, and the tremendously powerful support this plant offers for my body.

I also touch upon my own journey with learning, understanding, and holding more safe spaces for Trans and Non-Binary folx at Mountain Hollow and also using gender neutral language and learning from plants about gender as well. I share this as I am moving through trainings on how to be better at this and become more educated and release more and more limiting beliefs. So thank you for your understanding and patience with me on this very important issue and topic.

In this episode I speak with Nancy Despres RN, about her unique holistic practice which offers RTT, Bio Feedback, Meridian Stress Assessments, Hair Analysis and a completely customized treatment plan for whole health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Having Nancy on the show was important for me as I have struggled with the lack of emotional support and health in western medicine. As an energy medicine holistic practitioner myself, I see so many health issues arise from stress and disregulation in the nervous system. I find Nancy's methods to be full circle, incredibly supportive, and acute at finding underlying issues and limiting beliefs that are causing pain, imbalances, or struggle in our lives.

In the fourth episode in the series of intimate shares on my personal journey with individual plant spirits, I am excited to share Nettles (Urtica dioica) a plant ally that I had a strong shamanic experience with. Nettles is an incredible nutrient dense tonic and a wonderful wild edible. Just be sure to identify properly and wear gloves when harvesting as it is known to offer quite a sting to the skin.

In this episode I speak with Fearn Lickfield, owner and director of the Green Mountain Druid Order and School. The Green Mountain Druid Order (the GMDO) was created by Ivan McBeth and Fearn Lickfield and became active in the spring of 2006 when the first 3-year Druid Training started. Since then the Green Mountain Druid Training has started eight new trainings, with a break in 2011. The GMDO is based on 70 acres of land in Worcester, Vermont, called Dreamland, which consists of forest, ledge, meadow, a swimming pond, and amazing views. Facilities include a ceremonial space with a central fire pit, surrounded by a stone circle.

Fearn Lickfield is a Druid priestess, faery seer, earth diviner, temple tender, magical activist, geomancer, and gardener. She is the director and head teacher of The Green Mountain Druid School, chief of the Green Mountain Druid Order, and founder of Ecstatic Dance Vermont. She holds sacred space for community celebration and ceremony in honor of the earth and waters, the seasons, and for rites of passage. Fearn is the steward of Dreamland, a sanctuary and mystery school in Worcester Vermont.

In the third episode in the series of intimate shares on my personal journey with individual plant spirits, I am excited to share Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) a plant ally of mine that I work with often for physical pain and when I need to feel grounded and resilient.  In the intro I explain what a journey with a plant looks like and what comes of it. Katrina Coravos has been holding, facilitating, and leading large healing ceremonial events well beyond the many years I have known her. These ceremonies weave in cultures from all over the world and are often led by an elder trained in ancient ceremonial techniques and hosted by Katrina. In this episode I speak with Katrina about the importance of coming together in ceremony to receive and connect in community, and experience the somatic rooted experience of belonging we all long for whether we are aware of it or not. In this very special episode I spoke with Maureen Short of Lightheart Sanctuary in New Haven, Vermont about healing, spirit, flower essences and more. Maureen offers healing sessions in a in sacred space in the forest surrounded by the peace and healing of Nature. She works through her Heart—the Power of Love. A Shamanic Reiki Master, Maureen has been in private practice for close to 30 years These sessions address emotional, physical, mental and/or spiritual issues supporting the person to bring forth the power of healing from within. The species that grows locally to me is most likely in a different family of Reishi and I have not ingested it. The Ganderma Lucidum is native to China and Asia. Always be sure to identify your plants correctly or source them from a trusted source.

Tina Ghantous explores approaches to support one’s important work in the world through science and wisdom traditions. She is currently training in Somatic Experiencing as well as pursuing a masters degree in mental health, where she bridges the therapies of mind and body. I am so happy to share EMDR with you all after my first session with Sharon at a time when I was in dire need of support. Sharon has been a licensed mental health counselor for twenty years and has worked in private practice, health care and school settings.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont and is licensed by the state of Vermont as a Mental Health Counselor. Sharon is solidly trained in psychotherapy and uses a strength-based approach with clients, reflecting on what works well for them and what skills they can add to and build upon. Traditional counseling is, at its most basic, a conversation between the client and therapist.  Sharon lets the client lead the way, acting as a guide and teacher when needed, and offering suggestions and alternatives when they might be helpful.

In addition to her formal education, Sharon has completed a year-long Energy Medicine Practitioner Training and is Level I Reiki certified.  She has studied with respected intuitives Erin Pavlina and Slade Roberson and undertook a year-long shamanic apprenticeship at Indigenous Roots Institute.
