In episode 15 of The Diaspora Radio Podcast, we had the opportunity to interview Meyer and Isaac of “The Two Tall Jews Show” and “On This Day In Jewish History”. These two friends met on a Hasbara Israel trip and have made it their mission to educate people about the history of Jewish people - a momentous task that they have done a phenomenal job doing!

Episode 13: A Brief History of Israel 1937-1947
The year is 1939, WWI has just broken out and Jews are trying to escape to British Mandated Palestine to avoid persecution. However, the British had passed the 1939 White Paper to appease the Arab population which prohibited Jewish entry into the land. What were the Jews to do?
This episode covers the history of Israel dating from 1937-1947 in the formative years leading up to the Israeli War of Independence. By listening to this episode you will learn about:

In episode 12 we had the privilege of meeting Julia Bendis of @matchbyJulia! Not only is Julia a real life matchmaker (anyone looking for a soul mate?) she is also the author of “No Smiling Allowed” a book about growing up Jewish in the former Soviet Union. We were able to discuss with Julia:
- Julia’s grandfather chopping off his finger to avoid the Red Army.
- Russian use of urine to treat almost any medical condition.
- The Russian version of Santa Claus and his “Snow Maiden”.
