Each year, the Baldrige Foundation recognizes leaders in several industry sectors through an awards program known as the Baldrige Foundation Awards for Leadership Excellence. CHIME is pleased to announce that three of our own have received the honor of recognition through this prestigious awards program for their work in the cybersecurity sector.

CHIME 30th Anniversary Podcast: Leadership with John Glaser

In this special 30th Anniversary podcast episode, Russ Branzell and John Glaser wind back the clock to 1992 when John became CHIME’s very first Board Chair. Currently Executive in Residence at Harvard Medical School, John shares insights into what it means to be a leader in health IT in 1992 and through to today.

“Godfather” John helped lay the foundation of CHIME back before the internet when healthcare applications were the key concern. Along the way, fundamental decisions developed what CHIME would become, how it would help CIOs and other digital health leaders. The agenda and industry are always changing and evolving as priorities shift, but leadership hasn’t changed. Leadership is the human element that takes collective values and goals and works to serve, inspire, teach, and guide well.

Bill shares lessons learned through his 40 years of experience in health IT. He is currently the executive vice president and partner at Huntzinger Management Group. He also served as CIO of Geisinger Health System, Quantum Health Resources, and Gentiva Health Services. He was president and CEO of AllOne Health Group and executive vice president and COO of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Through it all, Bill has remained an active Member of CHIME, devoted to the development of knowledge and the advancement of healthcare IT.
