The NBA Playoffs are in full effect and there are a number of intriguing series to talk about. Fans have been allowed back at the arenas but is that a good thing? 4 different examples in one week of fans over stepping their boundaries by disrespecting the players. Also the ongoing back and forth between Kwame Brown and Stephen A. Smith
In a verbal ass whooping that was 20 years in the making former #1 pick in the NBA Draft Kwame Brown has been dispensing copious amounts to ether to the sports media that disrespected him. Stephen A. Smith, Stephen Jackson, Matt Barnes, and even Charlamagne tha God, among others all have been exposed by Kwame Brown this week. Correctly calling out black men in the media who disrespect other black men for the approval of white people. Kwame Brown has put the sports media world on notice and made them all think twice about talking about his mommas son.
Tim Tebow is back in the NFL after a 9 year hiatus. Not only is he back, but he's playing an entirely different position. Is he back in the NFL due to his merit, or because his former college coach is looking out for him?
Once the sport of kings and legendary fighters giving fans compelling fights boxing has now been relegated to a carnival side show with pseudo celebrities making a mockery of the sport. Floyd Mayweather has agreed to a phony exhibition fight vs professional clout chaser Logan Paul in Miami next month. If boxing isn't dead, its hooked up to a ventilator.
Now that the NFL Draft is over its time to discuss the picks. The correct choice was made with the third pick in drafting Trey Lance. Now the conversation becomes whether or not he should start day one? The needs of the interior line were addressed as well as adding depth to the secondary. However the team neglecting to pick a WR is puzzling to me.
Christmas in April otherwise known as the NFL Draft kicked off today and what a first round it was! QBs went 1-2-3 in the draft. My beloved San Francisco 49ers selected the QB of the future in Trey Lance. 3 WRs taken in the first round. An unexpected trade between division rivals in Dallas and Philadelphia. A confusing pick by the Las Vegas Raiders and Aaron Rodgers is pissed off in Green Bay.
Hip Hop lost a true pillar of the culture today. DMX was a force of nature that changed the landscape of hip hop music in the late 90s. His grit, authenticity, intensity, and emotional sincerity was unmatched before, and certainly after. I try as best I can to pay homage to one of the greatest of all time and a true master of his craft. RIP DMX
Amazon warehouses are the epicenter of inhumane treatment and disgusting working conditions. Attempts to unionize have been met with much resistance and propagandist tactics from Jeff Bezos and his minions. Workers at the "fulfillment centers" are subject to degradation with regularity. Urinating in water bottles and defecating into bags doesn't reflect a positive work environment.
Last Friday the San Francisco 49ers made an uncharacteristic power move! Dealing 2 first round picks and a compensatory 3rd to move up to the 3rd pick presumably for a QB sent shockwaves throughout the NFL landscape. With Zach Wilson likely off the board, Mac Jones is now the likely choice to be the next face of the franchise.
The NFL offseason is hotter than a spoon in a trap house! Players on the move, new faces in new places, and Bill Belicheck desperate to prove he was the driving force behind New Englands 20 year reign of terror. Deshaun Watson is now facing sexual assualt allegations from 22 different women. Is there a conflict of interest with the attorney representing these women also being next door neighbors to Texans CEO Cal McNair? All of that and more on this episode of the Dion Gordon Podcast.
The sensitivity level in America is at an all time high! Outrage over fictional cartoon characters and childrens books is the hot topic of conversation right now. Cancel culture is defined as a modern form of ostracism in which someone is thrust out of social or political circles. I personally define it as super woke people with too much time on their hands.
The NFL offseason is more intriguing than other sports regular seasons. In particular the unprecedented amount of movement at the most important position in sports. Big name QBs are on the move and the league is better for it.
A suffocating defense and the steady play of the greatest QB of all time were enough for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to emerge victorious in Super Bowl 55. The Kansas City Chiefs high powered offense only registered 9 points thanks to Todd Bowles defense. The GOAT further solidifies his legacy and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
Happy Super Bowl everyone! My favorite holiday is once again upon us and this years matchup shouldn't disappoint. Are we witnessing the changing of the guard between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes? Can Andy Reid join other legendary coaches in winning multiple Super Bowls or does Bruce Arians win his first? All of those questions plus keys to the game and players to watch in my Super Bowl prediction bonanza!
Super Bowl 55 is set! The GOAT Tom Brady adds to his legacy with his 10th Super Bowl appearance1 Tampa becomes the 1st team to play a home game in the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers once again comes up small in the NFC Title game as the Packers squander opportunities amid poor decisions, bad clock management, and idiotic playcalling. Pat Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill destroy the Buffalo Bills in the AFC title game. Chiefs look to go back to back in the Super Bowl. The stage is set for a epic showdown in Tampa for NFL supremacy.
So I went 1-3 last week lol. Despite that I thoroughly enjoyed all 4 divisional playoff games. Packers decimated the Rams to move on to their 9th NFC title game amid the strong play of presumptive MVP Aaron Rodgers, Lamar Jackson commits a critical error at an inopportune time to ensure a Buffalo victory. No Mahomes, no problem. KC holds on to beat Cleveland even without their star QB. And Tampa finally beats New Orleans behind their defense, the GOAT Tom Brady, and the ineptitude of Drew Brees.
Who advances to Championship Sunday? We will all find out by the end of Sunday but in the meantime I have my predictions, analysis ,and thoughts on the situation. Went 4-2 in the wild card with my predictions, lets see what happens in the divisional. Am I a football genius? Or am I a fucking idiot who shouldn't be allowed to discuss football in public?
Baltimore punches Tennessee in the mouth as Lamar Jackson wins his 1st playoff game. Saints take care of Chicago in predictable fashion as their defense suffocates Trubisky and the Bears anemic offense. Cleveland Browns finally stand up to their bully in Pittsburgh. Steelers implode in spectacular fashion amid 4 turnovers from Ben Roethlisberger.
Rejoice in the gift of playoff football! NFL Super Wild Card playoff weekend gives us the gift of 6 wild card playoff games this weekend! Day 1 is in the books, Buffalo moves on past Indianapolis amid the genius play of Josh Allen and questionable decision making of Frank Reich, Rams suffocate the Seahawks to advance in the NFC playoffs. The GOAT Tom Brady turns in another brilliant playoff performance holding off a spirited effort from Taylor Heinicke and the Washington Football Team from Landover.
White people lose their minds and storm the US Capitol over election results! I examine the hypocrisy and double standard on how it was handled with historical perspective. As well as an appreciation of the comedy exploits of Ashli Babbitt and the guy who tased himself in the balls causing a fatal heart attack. I thought we all agreed to leave the fuckery in 2020?
There's nothing wrong with going to the strip club. The problem for James Harden and Dwayne Haskins is that they're high profile athletes going to the strip club during a pandemic without wearing a mask. We have to be smarter than this.
The new stimulus deal is a direct slap in the face of working Americans trying to survive a pandemic. Proving once again that the words of the immortal Dr. Martin Luther King are appropriate now more than ever. "This country believes in socialism for the rich, and rugged individualism for the poor"
Nick Mulllens stinks up the joint vs the Washington Football Team from Landover. Didn't receive a lot of help from the woefully inept Mike McGlinchey who continues to embarrass himself. The struggling 49ers are just playing out the string in a season to forget.
Ben and Jerrys decision to partner with Colin Kaepernick on a brand new ice cream flavor has a certain demographic of people enraged! If only these people cared as much about systemic racism as they do ice cream flavors.
Any delusions of grandeur about a 49er playoff run came to an end Monday night in the desert. Injuries, the pandemic, and relocating to a new city to play home games have proven to be too much for the beleaguered San Francisco 49ers this season. Meanwhile the Buffalo Bills are on the rise and poised to make a deep playoff run behind the elite QB play of Josh Allen.
Tyreek Hill and Pat Mahomes make it look easy vs the reeling Buccaneers. COVID 19 leaves the NFL in shambles. My beloved 49ers come up with an unexpected win in a season sweep of the LA Rams. Seahawks and Eagles going in opposite direcrions and why Carson Wentz isn't the only person to blame in Philadelphia. Thanksgiving football continues to be trash. Derrick Henry and AJ Brown bully Indianapolis for AFC South supremacy. Jets and Bears continue to be pathetic and what the fuck happened to the Raiders?
The GOAT Tom Brady has another disastrous game in primetime. Baltimore's season is on the brink as they face a must win on Thanksgiving vs Pittsburgh. Patrick Mahomes continues to be a living cheat code. Why I don't believe in the Green Bay Packers long term. And my thoughts on the devastating injury to Joe Burrow.
Why do women have such a problem with a man who plays video games? On this podcast I explore some of the points women make against men playing video games and offer several rebuttals. Calm down ladies, your man still loves you, he just wants to get in virtual shoot outs with the police and kill prostitutes.
Week 10 in the NFL featured the game and play of the year1 Deandre Hopkins sensational game-winning catch delivered a victory for Arizona vs Buffalo. The Giants are emerging as a contender in the pitiful NFC East behind the inspired play of Daniel Jones. The Bears and Broncos continue to nosedive behind shitty QB play. My beloved 49ers are hungover and pissing in the closet with no recollection of it. Pittsburgh continues to roll, Miami is the best team no one is talking about, Brady bounces back, and the Patriots are still alive.
With the Garoppolo era coming to an end the San Francisco 49ers desperately need a franchise QB for the future. Not a veteran retread but a young QB to build around going forward. Zach Wilson from BYU could the next big thing, and should be the next San Francisco 49ers QB.
Joe Biden is about to become President but just barely. What should have been a landslide victory is a multi day struggle against the worst President of all time. A better candidate, substantive policy, and listening to the working class would have fulfilled mainstream news pundits prophecy of a landslide victory for the Democratic party.
The likely end of the Garoppolo era in San Francisco. The civil war amongst 49er fans about who to support. Why losing to Seattle last Sunday may be for the greater good. And why Dante Pettis needs to talk to a licensed professional instead of attempting suicide on football fields.
Ice Cube finds himself in hot water for having the audacity to call out the Democratic party and ask for receipts. Curtis Jackson announces to the world that he would align himself with a white supremacist just to save a few dollars.
