Andrew Chesworth is an Oscar-nominated filmmaker living in Burbank, CA. Armand Serrano is a visual development artist, art director, and production designer for animated feature films and games specializing in environment design. He is currently working as a Production Designer for an unannounced biblical animated feature film slated for 2025. Armand is known for his works at Walt Disney Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Sony Pictures Animation, and The Bible Project. His most recent projects were Skydance Animation's The Search for Wondla (2024) and Marvel Studios' "What If...?" . He is also a seasoned lecturer in the field of animation and design. He conducts workshops and demos internationally. Armand conducts his own online mentorship program once a year for advanced visual development candidates. He teaches at Brainstorm-Inland School and the co-organizer of Icon Manila with his wife. He also taught at Biola University and Art Center: College of Art and Design as an adjunct professor. After completing his civil engineering degree at the University of Santo Tomas in 1990, Armand started his career as an assistant animator at Fil-Cartoons, a Hanna Barbera studio based in Manila. His new-found passion for animation moved him to Philippine Animation Studio and supervised the layout department for Marvel's overseas production of X-Men and Fantastic Four TV series to name a few. He moved to Los Angeles in the mid-90s and took further studies in layout and background design. Armand joined the Walt Disney Animation Studios in Florida in 1996 and became a Layout Journeyman. He worked on four of the studio's successful animated feature films: Mulan, Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear. In 2004, Armand joined the crew of the newly formed Sony Pictures Animation. During his nine-year stay at Sony, Armand completed a total of fifteen projects including Surf's Up, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, Arthur Christmas, and Hotel Transylvania. He also collaborated independently in visually developing Escape From Planet Earth for Vancouver-based Rainmaker Entertainment and production design on Animal Crackers for Blue Dream Studio Spain. Armand moved back to Disney Animation Studio between 2013-2018. His later credits with Disney include the award-winning features Big Hero 6 and Zootopia, Olaf's Frozen Adventure, and Raya and the Last Dragon. Let's discuss how he does it and also the future of Steamroller Animation! With 23 years in the VFX industry, Aaron has worked at all levels of animation in film, games, and TV. Beginning with his early film work, Aaron was an animator on Matrix Revolutions, Hellboy, and Constantine with the acclaimed Tippett Studio. Eventually making his way to Weta Digital as a Senior Animator on Avatar, Aaron would remain with the award-winning New Zealand-based company for 8 years. During that time he worked on 14 feature films as Animation Supervisor on The Avengers, Iron Man 3, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Alvin, and the Chipmunks: Road Chip, and Godzilla. In 2016 Aaron made his way to Vancouver Canada as Animation Director at DNEG where he oversaw numerous projects before taking on the Head of Animation role. In 2021, Aaron assumed the Chief Creative Officer role at Steamroller Animation and most recently took on the Chief Executive Officer role where he oversees the studio’s vision and core operations. Aaron brings a wealth of animation and leadership experience to the Steamroller team. From his website: Going from an Avid editor in Italy, L.A. to complete the New York Film Academy Screenwriting Program, Pietro discovered a vibrant animation community and wrote two animated feature films for two directors selected and mentored by Guillermo del Toro. You may know Jeff Bell for his CG and VFX work on ‘Everyone’s Hero,’ ‘Hoodwinked 2’ or ‘Ozzy.’ But he’s also a software developer; he was part of the team that brought Maya to market in the 90s. These worlds collided when his company Tangent Animation was producing Next Gen, the first Netflix feature done entirely in Blender. Jeff was tired of running into the same old problems in the animation pipeline – so the team developed its own solution called LoUPE.
The company has adapted LoUPE for mass release ever since, collaborating with major software companies and letting top studios like Island of Misfits put it to work. LoUPE stands apart because it was developed by animators, for animations. Jeff’s mission to help artists and studios use the latest technology to scale and compete at a global level – and tell better stories with more on the screen. From Wikipedia: Kevin Lima (born June 12, 1962) is an American film director who has directed a number of Disney films including his debut film A Goofy Movie in 1995, Tarzan (1999), 102 Dalmatians (2000), and Enchanted (2007). He is married to Brenda Chapman, the head of story of The Lion King (1994) and co-director of The Prince of Egypt (1998) and Brave (2012).
Kevin & Brenda now have their own production company, 'Twas Entertainment.
