Melanie Betz, MS, RD, CSR, CSG is a renal dietitian who focuses on kidney stones, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), and Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). Melanie grew up in rural Michigan and went to Michigan State for her undergraduate degree before moving to Chicago where she completed her Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and dietetic internship at Rush University. She currently provides outpatient nutrition counseling for nephrology patients and dabbles in research projects at the University of Chicago. Melanie also has a blog and loves to cook, try new restaurants and foods, do yoga, and spend time with friends and family. Jen Hernandez, RDN, CSR, LDN is a Registered Dietitian (RD), board-certified in renal nutrition. She's been in the renal field since very early in her RD career in dialysis. With a husband in the military, moving every few years, Jen's knowledge and experience has grown in different areas of renal nutrition including several dialysis clinics and modalities as well as kidney screenings and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) nutrition coaching with the National Kidney Foundation. She and her husband are currently living on the island of Oahu, Hawaii where they enjoy spending time at the beach, hiking through the mountains, and taking their lab Lucy wherever possible.
