The Coffee and Prayer Series Hosted By, Doc Dalton
By Doc Dalton
Sometimes a good cup of Coffee and some quiet Prayers can change the world. It's a place to express some personal thoughts about today's issues. No craziness, No hurtfulness and No madness. Just a little Talk, Coffee and a Prayer.
Life gets confusing at times. The things you once thought were true, may not seem to be that way any longer. Not only has the times changed, but so has your thinking, and now you have reached a point in your life where you might just sit back and say to yourself, maybe, just maybe, I should RE-THINK MY JOURNEY.
There is so much going on in the world today and it has become scary at times. There is also countless people who are bringing God into all of this and should do so because we need him now more than ever. The problem is, there are way to many so-called Spiritual leaders saying so many different things that people are getting lost and confused. Me personally, I am not a Spiritual leader, I am a God guy and come from a common sense point of view. Sometimes, common sense is the way to go.
There is a crazy world out there and people don't know who or what to believe. Have Faith, Have Trust and Have an understanding that when all is said and done, and the Lord steps in, "which he will" ALL WILL BE OK.
Compassion is needed more today then ever before. A kind word, a pat on the back and maybe a few encouraging words can help someone get through their difficult times. Take a moment to be that angel of compassion because by doing so, you are not only helping someone, but teaching them as well so they may become an angel of compassion for someone tomorrow.
Sometimes God sends angels to us to help us through our dark times. An angel who becomes a special friend who is there for no other reason than to help us find our way. God sends angels in many different ways, so be alert, you might just have one coming your way when you least expect it.
Life is a learning experience. Through our time here on the planet, we learn from all our experiences both good and bad. From those experiences we gain what is known as Wisdom. The true test is, what do we do we our new found knowledge. How do we learn from it and what positive steps do we take moving forward.
For people who suffer from depression, their days can be filled with sadness, uncertainty, and confusion. Just the simple things that folks take for granted can be an immense struggle for one who suffers from mental illness.
Mental illness is not a friend for sure and it can rip the heart and soul out of someone and leave you lying in your own world of insanity. The old saying about a journey that has no end fits here perfectly with the addition of, not one friend will greet you along that journey.
It can isolate you from your own world and hold you captive for long periods of time until it decides to give you a brief release from your struggles.
But the good news is there is help and that is what this shows talks about today.
In life we tend to take things for granted, The things we should appreciate we don't and the things we don't have we always wish for them more. Maybe it's time to take a step back and slow down and take a real good look at what we have. We may realize that while we are wishing for so much more there are countless people out there who wish that they had what we have right now. Be grateful and start appreciating what we have , right now.
Sometimes in life we create friendships that mean so much to us and at some point without even thinking about it, we take those friendships for granted. Time passes us by and some of our friends die and we realize that we didn't get to say all the things a good friend should say to each other and we didn't even get a chance to say, goodbye. Maybe now is the time to let everyone know just how much that good friendship means to you. Better to it today, because they just might not be here tomorrow. .
Prayer, it's the most unselfish act of true kindness you can give someone. It's an act of love, caring and friendship. You ask the Lord to protect and help someone, while never asking for anything in return. A true gift to someone.
A personal story about America's Simple Man, Doc Dalton and his journey while suffering from mental illness/depression. A story on how God came to him through words, while being hospitalized for depression. How in the most un-real way, Doc feels poetry saved his life. He has been written about in newspapers, magazines and social media outlets.
Doc States, I am not a great writer, and I say that because it is 100% the Truth. I am not even a good writer, and I say that because it is also 100% the Truth. What I am is a man, who struggles through his words, so he could make it through his days.
The journey continues for Doc Dalton because he is now the host of, The Coffee and Prayer Series and his hope is to help others. Check him out on the web at - www.docdalton.com
