About the show:

Dodging Death is an improvised weekly comedy podcast, hosted by Stephen Williams Jr and Ryan Paton. Join them for an hour of generally uninformed, irrelevant chat - where they discuss topics such as being an accidental Peeping Tom, sleeping in the same room as Mother Teresa, and getting shouted at by Santa. Stephen is an openly gay, cruise ship magician - and is proud to be at the front of that much underrepresented part of society. He is often heard regaling anecdotes such as how he found himself as a performer on a swingers cruise, his lowest life moment being with Paul Daniel's son at a patisserie in Brazil, and how he tried to blend in at an Australian dive bar. In hindsight, the floral shirt and exposed ankles were a mistake.

Ryan has been Stephen's best friend since they first met at 11 years old and shared a communal love for the anecdote. He is the marketing manager for an afternoon tea company, is yet to attend a none catastrophic yoga class, and once got heckled by an eleven year old for being too scared to go on a water slide. He's also openly hetero, although his constant praise of ABBA could lead you to believe otherwise.

"I'm more Widdecombe than Du Beke..."

In this week's episode: Stephen has underwent serious dental surgery and he explains how the worst thing about the tale was when the dentist didn't laugh at his joke. Ryan accuses Stephen of stealing his look and details his decadent eating habits in the cinema. They are joined by Producer Paul who is once again lamenting modern technology. There are two features this week as Stephen introduces a new game where he attempts to Ste-bunk a common myth and Ryan hosts a feature all about the person who has recorded the loudest clap in what he calls 'A Round of Appauls."

"Can we please get rid of the magician..."

In this week's episode: Stephen has a revelation when he finds out what caused his recent illness and also learns he is set to feature in a new book.

Ryan speaks about a bizarre new fashion trend he's embracing and starts to plan a meet and greet with the fans of his and Stephen's weekend breakfast radio show.

Stephen forgot to do a feature this week but Producer Paul saves the day with an improvised game based on amazing facts in a quiz he likes to call Un-ste-lievable

"Would Noah need podcasters on the Ark?"

"Would Noah need podcasters on the Ark?"

In this week's episode: A miscommunication mishap means Producer Paul joins Stephen and Ryan for the first half of the show from his mobile. Stephen has another new job which which made his attempts to fill out the recent census spiral into disaster and he also tells us how he has resorted to embarking on scenic tours of industrial estates.

Ryan has again embodied his inner Michael Portillo when seeking validation on a new stripy jumper and explains why he insists on still wearing his formal shoes when working from home. In addition to his lateness, Producer Paul regales how he fell victim to an April Fools gag.

It's Ryan's turn to host the feature this week and he was inspired by the recent Bank Holiday weekend to create an Easter themed game called, "The Gee-ster Bunny!"

DDP: Weekend Breakfast - Episode One!

DDP: Weekend Breakfast - Episode One!

Stephen and Ryan have somehow found themselves in the position of actually radio breakfast show hosts, and are delighted at just how Alan Partridge that is. As you can imagine, they didn’t take to the upbeat style that kind of show requires particularly well…

Due to copyright reasons, the music played in the broadcast has been cut out of this podcast.

“My elocution coach beef…”

In this week’s episode: Stephen reveals how he has become embroiled in a battle with a fellow elocution coach and has invested in some new high tech for the podcast.

Ryan has unfortunately been hit with Coronavirus and explains why he’ll be avoiding the bat cave on his next visit to the zoo.
They are joined by Producer Paul who is Covid-bragging because he’s received a dose of the vaccine.

For this week’s feature, Ryan has revamped a game Paul thinks is his worst yet as he tests the team’s knowledge of Netflix synopses in a quiz he likes to call Rynopsis!

"Does this make me the voice of God?"

"Does this make me the voice of God?"

In this week's episode: "Stephen takes a job promoting a Christian motivational course and is so overjoyed by the idea of making an innuendo that he cries. Ryan explains his etiquette for sampling condiments and reveals his insecurities over his lazy tongue. They are joined by Producer Paul who is concerned about the alarming growth of his 'moobs.' This week's feature is in tribute to the week's landmark news story as Ryan has devoted a whole game to immunisation trivia in a feature he likes to call Vac-Ste-ne."

“I was kicked out of a panto...”

In this week's episode: Stephen has been cast in a Dick Whittington podcast pantomine and talks about how you can use the stinkbomb to your advantage. Ryan believes he has found his calling in life with improv classes above a pub and sympathises with how tough the swinging community have had it throughout the lockdown. They are joined by Producer Paul, who regales the story of why his coronavirus plasma therapy was cut short.

A misunderstanding has led to Stephen having to wing a feature on the fly this week about online shopping in a game he likes to call "Q.V.Ste."Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/dodgingdeathpodcast

"I was a professional shusher...."

"I was a professional shusher...."

In this week's episode: Stephen talks about a gardening crime that he committed and takes the Government retraining test. Ryan wonders whether a modern day Jesus would be in therapy and the components behind an effective shush.

They are joined by Producer Paul, who has overcame his bout with Coronavirus, and embraces his inner old man when he discusses his ideal morning watching horse-racing in a pub.

In this week's feature, Stephen has become overwhelmed by a little search engine nostalgia and hosts a game called, "Ask Gee-ves."

"What happens in Blackpool..."

"What happens in Blackpool..."

In this week's episode: Stephen explains how he felt like an exhibitionist on a recent trip to the gym, and embodies his inner Matt Hancock when he performs yet another u-turn on his Merlot/Moët fact (you can imagine how delighted he is with that comparison.)

Ryan chickens out of calling-out Anthony Joshua, and talks through his skin routine - something which is inspired by an animal renowned for its wonderful complexion. They are joined by Producer Paul, who looks forward to an upcoming trip to see the Blackpool illuminations.

This week's feature is all about one of Stephen's favourite stars, as he tests the teams knowledge of Diane Keaton - in a game called, 'Ry-an Keaton!'

"We need to talk about Van Morrison..."

"We need to talk about Van Morrison..."

In this week's episode: The team discuss how, with the news of London cancelling NYE, 2020 will ultimately never end - along with how Van Morrison has become a complete mad man. Stephen discusses his potential weight gain, brags about just how good he looks in tights and makes an apologetic correction about something he said on the previous episode. Ryan tries to impress us, yet again, with another tale about climbing a hill, and makes bold claims about his interest in a certain subject matter we all know to be false. All this, whilst Producer Paul reveals his addiction to a bizarre sweet treat. Ryan hosts the feature this week, and in an effort to come across as being cool, he unsuccessfully themed it around the recent hip-hop auction, in the game called, “The NotoRyus B.I. Paul Gee.”

"A Neil Buchanan whodunit..."

"A Neil Buchanan whodunit..."

It's just Ryan and Stephen in this week's throwback Dodging Death, as Paul and Josh couldn't make it for reasons that are simply just not good enough.
In this week's episode: Stephen reveals why he recently reported his neighbour to the community watch Facebook group, and explains why he can always rely on Wilson from Home Improvement.
Ryan launches an impassioned attack on the concept of the meal deal, along with delivering a heartfelt tribute to his local hero, Keith Chegwin. The team also dissect the major stories of the week, including David Blaine's balloon trick and whether Neil Buchanan is actually Banksy.
Don't worry, there's still room for an impromptu feature, as Stephen and Ryan test each others Emma Thompson knowledge, in a game called, 'Nanny McGee'

"I'll never forgive that koala..."

"I'll never forgive that koala..."

In this week's episode: Stephen reveals how his quest to get free movies backfired so drastically he now needs to travel to York to try and salvage the situation.
Ryan boldly announces that he has broken a World record, and has the proof to back up the outrageous claim. As you can imagine, the record isn’t quite what it seems. He also talks, at length, about the grandfather of a Carol Jean Vorderman.
Producer Paul regales on his recent trip to Berlin and how he nearly, accidentally, joined an anti-mask protest. He also tells the team how he attempted to stop a crime in action, but was upstaged by the most bizarre of vigilantes.
It is also revealed that the show in now ranking higher than it ever has in the UK podcast charts, but has dropped from the leader board entirely in Australia. So, in a mis-judged effort to win them back, Stephen decides to based this week’s feature around our Aussie friends, in a game called, “Put Another Shrimp on Gee Barbie!”

"I was attacked by a twink dog..."

In this week's episode: Stephen explains how an encounter with a dog resulted in a trip to A&E and boasts about how he is more famous than Thing from the Addams Family. Ryan is concerned his running app may be trying to kill him after it suggested a dangerous route on a recent trip to Newcastle and tries to arrange a bizarre marriage involving Hollywood actor James Woods. They are joined by Josh who proposes an idea that the team should set up their own cryptocurrency. In this week's feature, Ryan pits celebrities against some of the smartest people of all time to see who has the higher IQ in a game he calls, 'The Ry-Q Test.' "I'd thrive as a ventriloquist..."

In this week's episode: Stephen reveals how he was recently upstaged by a fellow customer at the barbers and how he's allured by the idea of embracing his inner Bugsy Malone to attend a speakeasy gym.
Ryan wonders if he'd be able to make it as a ventriloquist and finds another excuse to roll out his ethereal Scottish persona.
They are joined by Producer Paul who finally joins Stephen in regaling a fact about Japan. This week's feature is all about love as Stephen tests the teams knowledge on the nations most attractive accents in a feature called, 'SteHarmony.'
