What's the big deal with crying?

What's the big deal with crying?

Why is it that when we see someone cry we feel awkward and uncomfortable, and try to make it stop? Why is it we feel uncomfortable or embarrassed about crying in front of other people? Join me as I explore these questions and try to figure it all out. Maybe you can identify with some of my ideas and musings. Let me know what you think!

Out running the Black Dog

Out running the Black Dog

* Trigger Warning * - Mental health difficulties, depression, suicidal ideation

Is it really OK to not be OK? In this episode I openly discuss my experiences of mental health difficulties, particularly the absolute lowest point in my life when the black dog we bizarrely affectionately call depression almost caught me and ripped me to shreds.  I hope that by sharing my experiences so openly it encourages others to reach out. Know that you are not alone.

Does how you say 'I love you' cause conflict or connection?

Does how you say 'I love you' cause conflict or connection?

*Potential Trigger - Relationship difficulties*

Letting someone know you love them isn't always just saying it. There are many, many ways to show love. But what if it isn't in the way your partner or child understands it? What if their way of showing it isn't a way you can understand and receive it? This breakdown or miscommunication of showing love is possibly the biggest contributing factor to why relationships deteriorate, and ultimately break down.

Join me as I explore the different ways of communicating 'I love you'?

How am I supposed to feel about being a Grandmother??

*Trigger Warning - Miscarriage, Mental Health*

Join me as I discuss very honestly and openly my mixed thoughts and feelings about becoming a grandparent for the first time. It's a tough subject to be completely honest about, but surely I can't be the only one whose first reaction wasn't one of immediate elation?
